How Much Fun is This

Hello everyone

Ross @rsfrid Started the One Hole Challenge shooting indoors at 15-feet and I have set up my new indoor range. I have set up in my shop by moving my Roll Around Target Frame inside the shop and marked off 15-feet where I set up my small Benchrest. Now I can shoot at night or when the weather will not allow any outside shooting. This morning (5:15am) I used my Diana Bandit using Crosman Match Grade .177cal 7.9gr Wadcutter pellets to shoot a bunch of paper targets, How Much Fun Is This  . I am attaching two of the targets that I shot and only used the Laser and not the Red Dot. I have a Vector scope coming in that will focus down to just 3-yards and I will replace the Red Dot with the Vector, then I can do some serious small group shooting. How Much Fun Is This :D(y):p:giggle:

I used to shoot indoors with air darts at my fart board. I'd do it for hours.
It's fun.

Hello @redd

You know I had forgotten about the Darts until a week ago when I was on the internet looking for something and this dealer had the Darts listed in various colors. I had a Crosman Pump .177 cal pistol and like you stated, would spend hours shooting and pumping. The inside of our garage door looked like termites had gotten in the wood :giggle:

It's the most fun I can think of and stay out of jail! No worries on weather or time of day as long as the lights stay on (we get outages from time to time). Nice setup and great shooting. See, I told you it was fun. Now, if only I could get five pellets to go through same hole. 🤔

Hello @rsfrid

The key to what you said was " having fun and staying out of jail", that is really cool. I shot a bunch late last night and at one time turned off the shop lights and left the door open into the house. Just enough light to be able to see the "outline" of the target, but when I turned on the Laser I could see the 10-ring clear enough to fire a shot. Don't mine saying I did pretty good :). At this close range the Crosman Wadcutters shoot real good and leave a perfect clean round hole to score.

I was able to set up a 15 yard indoor range that runs the entire length of the house in the basement. I have had more shooting enjoyment in the few months I have had it vs the last 3 years at least. I now shoot every day when it is too cold to go outside. 18 inches of snow and 14 degrees F already and winter is not even here yet! Lately I am working on FT style shooting and standing with every airgun I own. Interestingly the best results standing so far have been with my $118 Beeman 2027. My used clothing pellet trap handles the 30 Cal slugs going 1000 fps with ease. I put a piece of 1/4" thick aluminum plate at the end of the box, but nothing has reached it yet.

If we ever sell this house and buy another one, an indoor 15 yard range is going to be an absolute requirement. If we build, I would like put in a minimum of a 50 yard underground range, planned from the get go as the foundation is being poured. I am thinking corrugated metal or plastic pipes big enough to crawl through would be ideal, but I might have to settle for something smaller. The target end will be in a small concrete chamber with a bullet trap that can stop 44 mag rounds, lighting, an exhaust fan for the PB guns plus an electric target retrieval system and an insulated hatch on top to allow easy access. I would like to have a 2nd bullet trap at 25 yards for airguns and 22 Rimfire, but not sure how to implement that. Maybe something on wheels with planks / tracks on the bottom of the tunnel, moving it back and forth as needed with a pully system separate from the target pully setup.

Hello @Geezerhood

That would be ideal. You can buy these precast concrete rectangular culverts 3' x 5' x 10' that would be quick and easy to bury. If you built that, you would never come back to daylight, install a toilet and a dumbwaiter and just have your food sent down to you . Good luck.

Love it! That would be my life for sure. Automated targets like Airguns of Arizona has. I'd settle for 20-25 yards.

I been eyeballing the 2027 or the diana pistol .. just cant get over pcp overhead stuff . I can see the fun in the 2 pistols ifnot for that. Maybe one day ill stop flip flopping around and just add to cart.🤤
You easily hand pump this pistol. It’s only around 30-35 pumps or so and takes less than 5 minutes. I use a cheap $50 pump that I’ve had for years and it still functions great.

Deco, come on up to Illinois! You can walk around my yard shooting the R9.
I will place the over/under @ 90 minutes for the police response.
All bets pay double if a helicopter is involved.

That's a sweet setup. I need more space for a longer indoor range myself.
Hello @Jnine

Well we had strong storms come through last night and this morning associated with a cold front and it is still raining but not to worry, just turn on the lights in the shop and start shooting. It's not only nice to be able to shoot in bad weather but it is so much fun messing around with theses pistols. Even when I am shooting alone on my 25 or 50 yard range, I put a lot of pressure on myself to shoot the perfect score every time 🤨. This is not the case indoors, it's just all about having fun shooting 😁.

I was going to say the same thing about how easy it is to pump fill smaller cylinders. Mo-Ron, definitely get set up and join us.
You can already shoot lights out off hand!!

It most certainly is too much fun!!
Have you ever noticed the silly grin that’s on your face when you’re getting ready for a shooting session?
Airguns have added so much value and interest to my life, I start and end my day shooting.
And then there’s the forum and you guys, making it even more fun and interesting.
Okay, the truth now.
Who will admit to having airgun reading material or a Pyramid Air catalog in the bathroom 😂?
I’m guilty.

I am sooo tempted by the inexpensive pcp. The barrel lottery scares me off.
May be I should, just to work on my barrel fixing skills?

Shooting indoors, even at only 10m helps hone your skills. If you can’t hit a tiny dot @10m, your are not going to hit anything when out in the real world.

Everyday I work on conditioning my wife to the idea of moving. I think it’s starting to take. But it’s years out.
