Best version of the FX Panthera for hunting.

For my type of hunting the Panthera would be great, I hunt thick Bush/Jungles where my shot opportunity comes fast and anywhere between 10 to 40+ yards so for me a Panthera with the small magazine would be a perfect quick pointing rifle with great power and the FX accuracy for the longer shots, and foremost the very solid barrel/shroud system ( I abuse my hunting guns 😉 ) couple that with a good bullet and the 130 FPE of the 600 .30 cal version is very appealing.

"There is no "hunting" version.

In the video he was shooting the 700mm at 1000 fps with 34 grain, at 150 yards thats still 45 fpe , however with such a light projectile theres a lot that can affect it at the 740ish fps its traveling at 150. The 500 on the same settings would likely (guestimate) be shooting those same slugs around 925ish fps..... with 6mph wind at any spot thats 6 inches of movement and it has 47 inches of drop... I am not saying people can't do it I just think that with hunting first shot placement is 100% key , when hunting this isn't paper where you can take a sighter."

No blame to FX here but I knew this would happen, the dreamers come out. You want to do long range on an animal, buy a .270 PB
The old adage, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Like the guy that got a rabbit at 250 yards with his Savage 17HMR, you could see the thing writhing for far too long. The right tool for the job is important.

ANY BRAND ..... ANY CONFIGURATION .... Is still Just an Air Rifle !!! We're Only working with 4.5k pressure and generally less.
They will Never Shoot Caliber to Caliber, weight for weight & Power created with the Powder guns !!!!
It is impossible to do .. that being extracting power where AG's mostly run 3000 psi or less behind a projectile & Powder guns are well above 20,000 psi o_O

BEING Just Air Guns ....
Folks are going use them however they wish, This includes use outside there intended applications. Modify or change them so they can be more suited etc ..

Always get a chuckle on these type threads ...

Just observation .. No skin in this game or brand.

Well it does matter what brand. Because with certain brands. I am not going to name them. You can't hit crap at 20 yards. Also to that 3500 psi or how ever much it is can push a 34 grain slug at 960 fps which is enough to kill something as big as a coyote as far as 50 yards if you make a excellent head shot.

He didn't say it couldn't he just was comparing powder to air.

A 44 grain Pellet at 850 FPS WILL drop a yote at 90 yards.
Been there done that.
Head shot with a RainStorm .30

Either way, youve got plenty of options, hunting with an air rifle past 150 yards seems to be an ego boosting thing to me and thats it, not my cup of tea but if its someone else then that's cool, we are supposed to be sovereign beings so have at it!
Okay. I said the max I would hunt would be 150 yards. If It is over that. I would use a 17hmr. Although I would stalk closer to 100-75 yards.

Retail M3 is $2000 for a compact, $2100 for a 600mm. Retail atm for a Panthera 500mm is $1900. If $100 is going to be the difference you should rethink pcp ownership. Its actually dumb how expensive all this stuff is when compared to a PB. I agree the M3 benefits from upgrades that should be factory, but the same issues will be present in the Panthera. You can use them stock just fine for hunting.

Um... $2k for a competition PB is just the starting line. The Panthera is well priced for a ready to shoot competition gun in either PB or AG.

Yes then add a compressor and scba tanks and fill stations and etc etc. A Vudoo is $2k-$3k and there are plenty of lower price points that can shoot with an FX. My point was its going to be pricey to get into any top shelf pcp, and a couple hundred difference between models is a drop in the bucket.
