Hello everyone,
My good friend @davelarson has told me how well Slugs do in windy condition when he shoots. Well I ordered some Nielsen slugs in two sizes in the .177 caliber, some 12.5gr and some 15.0gr. I shot both sizes at 25 yards and they were pretty close to being equal in accuracy. Then I moved out to 50 yards with variable wind from 10-20 and guts to 25 and the 15.0 edged out the 12.5 by a little bit. I have my big wood target frame out at 85 yards and no paper target on it at the time but I decided to shoot at it just to see how much drop from the 50 yard. I aimed at a previous hole and the Slug only dropped about 2" but was dead on in line so I shot 4 more times. I taped a Dime on the board and took this photo, needless to say that I am pleased how well these are shooting.
I have ordered a mix bag of various brands in the 15gr size to try out. I also ordered 3 different sizes from Zan and anxious to give these a try out.
