WHAT'S THE WORST "What's the Best " QUESTION?

My turn to RANT! I'm so tired of seeing these "What's the Best " questions! There is/are NO BEST! There are simply too many variables to answer a SUBJECTIVE question with a QUANTITATIVE answer!!! All of these "What's the Best "questions ridiculously waste time as the answers depend on situational application, shooter's acumen, style preference, etc, etc, etc. I get that the inexperienced are looking for the quickest/cheapest route to the perfection they're seeking but are DEPRIVING themselves of the invaluable learning experience of getting to intimately know their gun's capabilities & quirks as well as their own. Besides, two exact same rifles might perform completely differently in the same situation. Just one the idiosyncrasies of airguns that we had to learn through the school of hard knocks & personal experience. So, WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO GAIN EXPERIENCE? Trial/Error/Cost of Pellets & Mental & Physical labor, THAT'S my answer. Wish people would EMBRACE the labor, cost, & trial & error of this activity as to gain the INVALUABLE personal knowledge/experience that they'll be rewarded with instead of looking for the EASY WAY & ANSWERS. Besides, the answers you get probably won't work for you anyway! It's not the DESTINATION, it's the JOURNEY to it that provides the KNOWLEDGE!!! Good Luck to all on this journey.

"Any review on this?" and the guy just pulled he's creditcard five minutes earlier.
I always do my homework first, depend of a cost I am researching sometimes for days or weeks, especially online, take a good nap and when I am wake again I decide to buy or not. But if I buy it is a done deal in my head.

"Which one is better" Twenty people saying take the orange and the guy buys the apple.

I promised myself I will not even read those threads anymore.

I am with you on this! It drives me absolutely CRAZY. What’s the best this, what’s the best that. What’s best for hunting, what’s best for accuracy, and my favorite, “What’s Best?”.

Why not ask “what would you recommend” for…. Or better still, do some research before asking, and for sure, before buying.

Come on guys. A lot of new guys here asking the same questions more experienced guys have seem a ton of. None of us was born with an airgun sticking out their rear. We all started from scratch at one time. Those questions are boring but necessary for the health of sport. The Nation is always looking for a few GOOD members.

I'd counter this with someone having no knowledge and wanting to hear many opinions and reasons in a given answer. Throw a big net to catch a lot of fish.
What's the best pellet for use with an FX Maverick VP in 25 cal? Numerous answers with many giving the reasons why their choice worked and also probably what didn't work. Good info for someone starting out or even an experienced airgunner just purchasing said rifle.

If on the other hand I posted 20 threads asking about a different pellet in each thread it would be more tedious to go through, and top that off with people not interested in that topic now have 20 threads to scroll past instead of one. Then people would rant about me posting so many threads on the topic. Haha

I find it quite easy to scroll past threads that don't interest me. I'd rather it be a few than dozens though.

The best hunting gun for me most likely would be the worst for someone else

If you notice many new members asking these questions across multiple forums have less than 10 posts and 10 days membership on AGN. Many appear to have been seeking access to the “Classifieds” forum. As a result several threads pose these types of questions and are abandoned by the OPs in attempt to mask a BS post and pass it off as substantive. Often times a simple AGN search will yield results that would likely satisfy the questions asked. I’m sure this doesn’t apply to all but, it’s something I’ve observed.

I remember a long time ago, I asked a person on a Monday how their weekend went. Here’s his reply-
“Augie, are you asking cause you truly would like to know, or is it just a conversation starter snd if I told you about my weekend you wouldn’t give a chit anyway?”

I thought to myself, what a Richard Head!!!!

But I thought about it, never forgot about it, and started watching people’s reactions after they asked me that same question and I started to tell them about my weekend.
80% of them never made eye contact with me, were into their cell phones as I answered, or some just walked away, forgetting they asked me a question. So anymore, if I sense needless chatter being asked of me, yeah I’ll start off with “my weekend? Well it went like this…”, and mid way I’d throw this out…” yeah and JUMPING JACK FLASH ITS A GAS GAS GAS…” and if they didn’t stop me and say “hey! Whoa! What was that?!!” Then I knew they weren’t listening so I just immediately shut up. Saved me a lot of dry mouth.

So I’m telling you all of this so next time you get one of those questions, try typing in something off the wall to see if the OP truly wants to know or is just being lazy or trying to raise post count.

I do agree with SHAMBOZZIE 100%, and the new into the sport need to get taught by the more seasoned vets, but it truly is annoying when two to three pages of suggestions come up and the OP never replies back, never says thank you, or worse yet had already bought a gun and is looking for positive reinforcement to let him know he didn’t spend his $$ foolishly
