Shooting crows?

Nomojo,
Retired to Florida in 2005, neighborhood over-run with crows emanating from a large roost about a mile away. Loud, raucous early morning calls, trash pulled from cans and a devastated songbird population were reluctantly accepted by neighbors. I did what I could with an old 760 Crosman pump for years, they just scolded me out of range. Two years ago, discovered PCPs, let's just say the "arms race" tilted in my favor. Today, early morning crow calls are from a distance, no trash strewn about, and a flourishing songbird population. The large roost still exists, though not quite as large, and with a healthy respect for avoiding my section of the neighborhood. WM

You really need to check your state hunting regulations. Some palaces they have a hunting season for them others do not. And some places have it so the landowner can dispatch them if they are a nuisance.
And then there is the method of dispatching them.
It just depends on your state’s hunting regulations.

The season in Mi. Is Aug-1 thru Sept.-30 and Feb.-1 thru March-31.
I really want to eliminate them from my and my neighbors property they flock up in small numbers and are obnoxious and loud!
If you think they are “ obnoxiously and loud “ now. Wait until you drop one
Then you will see obnoxious and loud 😂

i consider it bad to kill crowsunless theyre doing something destructive, i like them, they warn me and the chickens if hawks are in the area and are very smart creatures .. once they decided to get into my melons in the garden though and i dropped one .. guess what, they dont get in the garden anymore ... but yeah, id probably have a talk with ya if you were a neighbor and i saw you just shooting them, theyre part of my daily experience, i read them just like they read me .. if you ignored mh 'suggestion' id probably do stuff to ya lol ..

( I didn't know that there is a season for them in NY state ) Regardless - I don't go after them anyway as they're generally part of my 'cleanup crew' on the farms / permissions that I have. Them, their BIG cousins Ravens ( ever see one of those things up close? They get BIG . . . lol ) and hawks chow down on dead pigeons.

Why do you want to shoot them? They normally don’t get into too much trouble….until they do. If the population is out of hand they get BOLD!!! However, if you help one take a nap they generally stay away. A small gang of crows decided to raid my fig tree but they got the message now and haven’t seen one land near me in a very long time.

If you want to shoot them for sport then follow your local regulations. I only hunt for meat so no interest in just killing them.

My uncle grows sweet corn and when it sprouts they come and pull up the sprouts to eat what is left of the corn kernel. If i shoot one and hang it on a fence post they fly around going nuts for a hr or so then that group will not come back for a while.
