FPS for NSA 38.x

MAVERICK 25 / 700mm. Shooting 895 on 6.
Shoots very well basically MOA . ( out does my buddies 22 rim) But it does tend to widen after 100. 150 I'm in 3". That ought to be good enough for anyone.
I am using FX balancer and it makes the difference! Yet , I wonder if 920 or so would true these groups. I'm getting 3+ mags per fill. Would like to keep that , wouldn't @ higher regs.
Reg is @ 125 as I see the gauge. I hate to max out my guns.

What are you doing? Or, would you drop down to 33- 36g slugs?

It's been my experience with NSA ammunition, of all the weights you are asking about, prefer velocities 960 to 1000fps

I have shot the 36.2 gr up to 1025fps ish but I wanted to get 50 shots out of a fill out of my M3 so I backed them down to 980 fps.

If you get MOA at 100 and opens at 150 then it’s the wind/condition. The NSA 38.5 slugs shoot very well out of the maverick even at lower speed and it has very high BC. If you don’t want to raise the reg then possibly try 34.9 grain as the BC is not much lower. Raise the reg doesn’t always reduce shot count but sounds like your guns is tuned fairly efficient so might want to leave that. Higher speed does NOT equate to better accuracy.

For reference the maverick I sold was shooting the 43 grain NSA at 950fps and still can drift 3 or more inches at 150 yards if I don’t account for the wind. Put out some wind flags and you will be shocked how good maverick and NSA combo can be.
