CLEANING ROD STORAGE

The other day I was at the range and inadvertently double charged my Wildcat .22.
Sadly, a week ago I bought two 3/16” dowels to be used as push rods for that exact scenario. I had not made my storage tube yet.
For my powder burners I made one for my cleaning rod when I take it to the range. The holder just guarantees I won’t slam the car door or trunk lid on it. I often keep some of the range items in the car as I’m there often.

I made the storage tubes from PVC pipe and caps. The small one is for my 3/16” wooden dowels and larger one for my Dewey cleaning rods.

Nice! That's the last thing someone needs is to have your range session ended on a double/triple load and have to pack up. It's always good to be prepared.

Nice job ! was planning on doing the same exact thing, that is if AoA gets things right tomorrow morning. Where did you buy your dewey rod may I ask and did it come with any adapters also accessories ?

I bought them off of the Dewey website.

Nice organized system you have. I once triple loaded my 22 M-rod. Fortunately they were just pellets so they blew out.

I use a MTM cleaning rod case, plenty of room for patches and rod accessories, very convenient having the necessary tools at your finger tips.

I was not even aware of that product.

For popping out stuck pellets I use delrin rod, 3/16 for 25 cal and under and .25 for 30 cal. Got it thru amazon in 4’ lengths. Very flexible, and no worries about snapping it.

Plus, it fits perfect in the slots of that MTM case!
