Daystate Renegade MK 2

Well, I figured that sooner or later, Daystate would release their Renegade MK-2. While I expected it to be branded Daystate, the shift to Brocock makes total sense, along with the new Ghost moniker.

While I have not handled it, shot it, or looked at it closely (even though I probably could have at EBR) These are just my thoughts and observations.

I can see that there’s a lot to like here. Looks like a logical progression, based on what they did with the Delta. Still a lot of money, but way more affordable than it’s electronic counter part. This should appeal to the folks that don’t care for neither the electronics nor the hefty price tag.

Notably different is the lack of the electronic trigger that the Renegade was known for.

One thing that is the same, that I wish it wasn’t? A built in bag rider/carrying handle. I prefer Woods-Walking while holding the gun by such handle like the Taipan Vet, or even the Sniper XR models.

Also, reading @Franklink ’s (most excellent) thread on this gun, I am rather disappointed that the barrel itself (not to be confused with the shroud) isn’t threaded 1/2x

It should include a 580 cc or 700 cc bottle to have more shots per fill. As vulcan and Uragan does.

It should be able to shoot slugs and pellet with the same accuracy as a Vulcan and Uragan does.

It should have a way to increase or decrease power without the need of adjusting the regulator, as Vulcan and Uragan does.

As much as I like AGT Vulcans & Uragáns, they don’t shoot pellets quite as precisely as the Daystates. The AGTs have an edge for now with slugs but I think Daystates are progressing.

You can adjust power without adjusting the reg pressure on the Ghost. In fact, it’s easier to adjust the hammer spring tension on the Ghost than an AGT PCPs.

I’m excited about the Ghost. I see it more as a mechanical Delta Wolf than a Renegade MK2. Either way, it will make waves for sure. I have several heading my way

Coming from someone who tunes agt rifles as well as he does, I think I’ll take his word over yours.

In all due respect, I know of many Daystate platforms that Do shoot slugs very good. I compete quite a bit, see and experience many a PCP. A .25 Red Wolf can shoot a 37gr Zan with precision. .22 Red Wolf can shoot JSB KnockOuts very good. A .22 Renegade standard, .22 Red Wolf Standard, .22 Wolverine Standard can all shoot the .22 20.3gr NSA or .22 20.2gr Howlers very well. With choked barrels you must find a slug that has a diameter approximately for the choke.

I’ve already head that the .22 Ghost HP is good with slugs. We shall see

As far as pellets, Daystates/Brocock are cream of the crop! Just look at competition results. Top shooters, whom want the very best of equipment and test all, for the vast part, don’t wield AGT offerings.

Sure, of course...... It could be that I privilege my AGT five rifles over my five Daystate rifles....

At the end we all have a point of view over the reality.
