reducing D350 power?

I have a Diana 350 magnum break-barrel in .22

It's a little much for #backyardplinking. All I kill is paper. 🎯

I have it listed for sale here, in hopes of using funds from that to get something with a little less punch. No bites, so thought I'd consider alternatives.

What I'm wondering, as much as I like it, maybe I can trim some of the spring off to reduce power?

You can trim and reflattem the spring to lose some power but depending on how low you're trying to get it you may end up with a REALLY lazy shot cycle. The 350 piston stroke is like 110mm (maybe 115mm from what I just read) so between that and the heavy 28mm piston, going to low could get really screwy in the hold sensitivity/accuracy department.

Do they make an extended piston rod or possibly a piston seal spacer for the Dianas to bring the stroke down some? Just for comparison purposes, my .22 97K is sitting around 17fpe with a 26mm piston and I think an 80ish mm stroke.

Obviously there is a bit more to it than that and I'm not experienced enough to know what will actually happen without actually trying it for myself but I thought it was worth noting the potential issues. Long story short, snip away I think. Worse case scenario it doesn't work out and you need a $20 spring.

Ya, if you trim do a coil or 2 at a time then you go test that work find thats good or go back and trim another 1 or 2 , repeat till you get to where you need it. I think if a little too much then you can shim up or shim for a finere tune.. at my age and convenient if a detuned spring is availae to just drop in i leave it at that..lol... ( Old and lazy, then hassle).

Edit..
Well looks like you maybe stuck cutting coils on that girl.. id pop hector a email for any unknown advice or tips he'd offer. Then you got a good start point to go with. His diana experience may give you a do it right once thing.

Maybe a article in that ..?

Thinking ... You got it up for sale original. So maybe leave it as that , sell it and re buy somthing else? I kind look cocked eye at a used gun that a guy " been in to " and would prefer if all original at a price point.. that looks like a nice like new gun so?
that was my goal. to find a good trade or get enough in the sale to pick up a new, oh Diana 34 or a Weihrauch HW50.
open-sights, 25Y benchrest target-shooting is my thing. break-barrels 95% of the time.

it's a really nice gun, i'd not even try to rid myself of it if i needed the power. or if i can cut that power down.
SUPER accurate and awesome T-06 trigger.

For what it's worth, I sent Frank a PM with Hector's personal email addy, which is not something I share publicly, so he could ask about his possible options.

Frank, you might want to reconsider the idea of the HW50 since, if memory serves (it doesn't always...lol), I've read a couple places where LOP on the 50 is the same as the Beeman R9 that gave you problems and you just couldn't get comfortable with. While I have the R9, I don't have the 50 to compare them so someone who does will have to confirm if I actually read the posts I saw about it right.
