Kalibrgun carbine owners.....help!

Hi ,in a previous post I was complaining about a leak on my Kalibrgun Carbine .25. When the air tank is removed from the gun the pressure remains stable . I checked the filling valve and the power valve....no leak . As soon as the tank is fitted back it leaks slowly. My opinion is that the valve stem is pushed lightly open by the hammer because the valve spring tension is too weak . So I removed the valve assembly to increase the spring pressure , as stated in a video by Ernest Rowe. On the Cricket BULLPUP the valve stem and the spring are centered with the valve body , and by turnin the aluminium nut the spring pressure is increased. BUT on the CARBINE model , valve stem and spring are offset , not centered with the body , and the spring is kept in place by one of the 6 holes drilled on the outside of the nut , not by the one in the center. The pictures below willl make this more clear ( I hope). So my problem is : how to adjust the spring tension by turning the nut without bending the spring , and stem ?

I think there's no many people shooting the Carbine model , but if there are , some help would be welcome.

I have a Cricket Carbine Mini .22. I know what you are talking about. I tried bumping up the reg one time and as I had to increase the hammer spring tension to get more power I found that it was enough to cause a small leak from the valve. I am happy with the lower power of the min carbine so I just backed the reg back down.

I think in you case it might be better to use a slightly stronger valve spring.

Thanks ctshooter , but I made a mistake during my checks and now it appears that the leak comes from the filling valve . It's not the main O-ring because there is no bubbles coming from the tiny hole in the tube. So it's the check valve O-ring or the gauche seal . Unfortunatelly I don't know how to remove the gauge . From the video of E. Rowe he seems to use a kind of modified socket hex wrench.

Oh yeah - I had to make one of those for myself one time - IIRC its a 27 or 28mm socket that you then turn down on a lathe.

Just fyi for anyone who may not have the tools or skills to make one- they are available on eBay ready to use, just search "Kalibrgun Cricket".

You don’t need to go through all the trouble, or expense, to grind off a socket. You can just use two kitchen forks that are each inserted into the narrow space around the air gauge opposite the other then use a vise grip to clamp / hold the two forks together (the closer to the forks’ teeth the better) to unscrew it.

@spinj - that sounds like there is a high risk of damage to other parts.

If you are going to lathe a socket be sure to use carbide bits and not HSS.
