De-Twanging a Vulcan 3 - pulling the hammer spring out

I have a 500mm .22 subjected. Love it - the thing is a laser. I've read lots and watched plenty of youtube vid's re: looking for methods of making it "quieter". Quiet being principally from the shooters point of view. Anyone not on the gun (I guess) doesn't really notice the twang but as the shooter - yeah it is somewhat noticeable. The two simplest solutions I've seen - and may toy with this evening after I get home from work - are to place an o-ring inside of the spring. The FX guy . . . Ernest Rowe has a video where he apparently slipped a "condom" over the spring which helped mute it. I'm inclined to just go the o-ring route. Question - can I assume that the hammer spring will just "fall out" when I back the HS adjuster all the way out like a lot of guns do?

Those of you who do own one ... have you done anything like this, or have you discovered a means of "de-twanging" it that isn't overly invasive - ie; no need to do any kind of "major" tear down of the gun?

Something interesting to note is that I have had 3 - 4 AGT Uragans and all of them came with a 1/4" piece of surgical tubing over the spring. In my tuning I've found that it leads to inconsistent velocities. Removing the spring (granted the Uragan doesn't have the Vulcan tube and ping issue) made the fps much more consistent. I would hesitate on the o-ring option.

I had a thread on this about 6 or so months ago regarding a 500 .22 Vulcan and Derrick responded with some viable de-pinger info. Take a dig for that thread.

My Vulcan 3. 30 Cal stoped doing the twang and I do not know why. I placed the regulator in the rear side not at the front because I notice the external o'ring to get marked.

My Vulcan 3. 177 Cal is perfectly silent, do not make the twang. Regulator is also in the rear side.
The twang comes from having a large open plenum in front of the valve. When you reduced the plenum volume this stopped the ping/twang.
This ping was also a common problem with unregulated guns because of the large open space in front of the valve.

Sure hope someone comes up with a solution. The twang, to me, sounds more like a springer., very annoying. I really like my V3 and AGT airguns in general, but paying $1800 and getting that annoying twang is kinda disheartening. Sounds more like a $30 Red Rider. I've got a V2 in .25, doesn't have any twang at all? Why do the V3's have it? I've thought about replacing the plenum sleeve with a slightly smaller diameter tube and putting vinyl outside of it. Mine is a .22 and I'm not interested in shooting above 900 fps so the slightly smaller plenum wouldn't be a problem.
