I have a 500mm .22 subjected. Love it - the thing is a laser. I've read lots and watched plenty of youtube vid's re: looking for methods of making it "quieter". Quiet being principally from the shooters point of view. Anyone not on the gun (I guess) doesn't really notice the twang but as the shooter - yeah it is somewhat noticeable. The two simplest solutions I've seen - and may toy with this evening after I get home from work - are to place an o-ring inside of the spring. The FX guy . . . Ernest Rowe has a video where he apparently slipped a "condom" over the spring which helped mute it. I'm inclined to just go the o-ring route. Question - can I assume that the hammer spring will just "fall out" when I back the HS adjuster all the way out like a lot of guns do?
Those of you who do own one ... have you done anything like this, or have you discovered a means of "de-twanging" it that isn't overly invasive - ie; no need to do any kind of "major" tear down of the gun?
