Trigger job Ruger air hawk 2

Some pics of a trigger job I did on my Ruger air hawk 2. Let me tell you, that gun had the most garbage trigger I've ever pulled. I made it much better, but you can only polish a turd so much. All of the catch edges(not sure the proper terminology) were sharp. So I put a radius on all of them with hand stones, and polished all of the pins because most are lever fulcrum. Never underestimate the power of brass shim stock. I use it for bushings and shims all the time in the machine shop for all sorts of repairs. The brass really tightened the play and side to side flop. Still not a great trigger, but it's much better.

I wouldn't just call it heavy. Gritty loose and unpredictable are also traits haha. To be honest I've never worked on a trigger before this one and honestly wouldn't know how to measure pull weight. I've worked in Tool&die and as a machinist for most of my life. I've rebuilt several gear box in my day, and this trigger reminded me alot of that type of work. I'm new to airgunning and don't know much yet. For now I'm relying on my instincts when it comes to alot of this, and everyone's advice from this forum ofcourse. I even lapped the rifling inside of the barrel of that gun with lapping compound and I spent a lot of time right at the breach. That also made that gun seem to shoot a hell of a lot better. I'm hoping after I gained some years of experience in these forums and playing with these rifles hopefully I can use my trade a lot more to help myself and everyone else with this air rifle addiction lol
