Safest gun I own is a savage 20 g break barrel shot gun carried open with no shell in it. Quick drop in shell then fold and shoot. As for the GK1 I only shoot 12 pellets at a time and I leave five blank till I am ready then rotate cylinder to first loaded pellet and fire. Safe to carry and not worried about dropping. I don't carry any of my powder burners with a chambered round. Things happen so why take the chance. Im 77 years old and have to many memories of friends being shot by an unloaded weapon, just saying. You get the wrong idea, I really like the gun and I'm sure it will shoot great, that doesn't mean that you can't spot a lot of things on a gun just looking at it and examine the design.
My main complain externally is the extra lenght that takes the handle, the others are just details that can be easily patched.
Internally, yes, I complain about the not so shock proof safe mechanism, but if you want to prove me wrong, please make a video bashing your GK1 on a table with the safe engaged, so people can see if the thing pass a standard pistol safety test. Well... my instructor do the same with a cooked, unloaded semi-auto with external hammer to demonstrate the safety of the gun, and the damn thing discharged anyway... but with a semi-auto, you can just carry it with no round on the chamber, and with a revolver or even a standard airgun with a hammer that strikes the valve, it's much more unlikelly to discharge accidentally.
But with the GK1... Tell me that you will feel safe taking it to a hunt or just to the range, loaded and attached to your waist or something.
Will you run with it? will you go trough the wilderness with it feeling safe?
What can I say.. I would have prefered that the safe on the GK1 was a big thing actually bloquing the rear of the mooving rood so it can't, no matter what, accidentally shoot you with the safe engaged if you trip to the ground or something accidentally hit the gun.
same here, I have an Arken scope I love on my Vulcan that has a fine reticle but a cheaper one on my Notos I have to replace, the reticle is too thick. Cover's up a 1" circle at 50yardsThe cross hairs are to thick as I prefer thin. As far as the stock the cheek rest was made out of a fir 2x4 and the rest out of a aluminum sheet. Jig saw to cut the strips, then formed, drilled and tapped for stainless screws. Would of come out nicer if I had a tig welder. The hardest part was drilling the cheek rest. Thanks for the compliment.
My gun has port work done, so air flows with more velocity and less turbulence. I have older ports on mine. To my knowledge, I've squeezed about %95 of max efficiency out of them. The work netted a 50fps gain on the short 380mm barrel using 18gr pellets, and the factory tune. Same work netted 75fps on the 700mm barrel. Port is opened to .30" to create a bellomouth or venturi. Taking advantage of the largest tranfer port setting, and squeezing air/increasing it's velocity as it reduces to factory port diameter. Port 90 degree turn behind the projectile is elongated and radiused to increase flow, and reduce turbulance. Probe is cut to match. This is part of the reason my velocity #s are so high (while still maintaining efficiency). They would otherwise be very close to 900fps. The projectiles still shoot just as accurate, though I am aware at the higher speed are more affected by wind drift. However, the areas I hunt (hilly woods) have little to no wind. So, that has essentially no affect for me. Low hammer and port yields 16fpe, which is what I almost always shoot at when not hunting.FWIW @seangabrell & @Long_Gun_Dallas
I'm getting the same velocity (885-890) using FX 18,1 in a new Crown MkII 22/380 barrel
But I get 80 -85 shots on the factory/dealer tune of REG 150, TP on Hi; HAMMER SPRING WHEEL 9 or 10
Once I pass 1000 rounds I will try to get the courage to make adjustments to the regulator.
And of course, the hammer spring too

The grasshopper is still learning, thank you Master! As we have spoken of at FT Matches be it Club or Away ...
It is as much a MENTAL GAME as it is one of Shooters Skill.
Now having shot FT with you for a few years now, the SKILL set you clearly have in spadesAnd the case in point being to the MENTAL part, I have seen and continue to see you taking each shot missed FAR TO SERIOUSLY. One of the BIGGEST Mental things you can do is realize a shot missed is OVER !!! there is no taking it back for a do over, absolutely NOTHING you can do about it and you MUST MOVE ON FORGETTING ABOUT IT immediately !!!
Letting yourself dwell and think what could I have done differently ? Being just upset with yourself ? or acting out if only for a moment IS BAD KARMA for keeping your head screwed on straight during a match.
If & when you have the skill you do apply it the best you know how if your actually trying to do well .. It's Automatic
When results don't follow intent Forget about it ... You have more shots to take so keep on going one shot at a time.
The time to dwell on mistakes is AFTER the match.
Hah funny! same speed on my 30 and 22.Forgot the stats for other guns. Boss .30. JSB 44.75Ggr or JSB Hades @ 880ish fps, Bobcat .22, JSB or FX 18.13gr @ 890fps. Hope you're doing well Renz!
