IRBRS Airrifle Benchrest 50m Unlimited 2023

Sadeq i noticed some Impact M3 `s on your benches also ,, how are they performing at 50 ??

Dave k ozzy team
Dear Dave,
It depends on the setup and of course the skill of the shooter. Some of our shooters have achieved high scores with their setups they had on the FX M3.
I don't have much detailed information about their setups, but the results obtained in caliber .22 are very good.
The only problem I have with FX is the lack of stability of the tuning done for a long time and the high depreciation of them and its costs. That's why I used Prophet for unlimited classes.
one of our winners is the shooter using the M3. But in the recent 50m events, the scores obtained by the shooters used RTI Prophet were much higher than the previous competitions. The 1st place winner in the competition and a number of other shooters participating in this competition were part of the team that participated in the WRABF World Championship 2023 at Pilsen CZ.

Cheers,

FX  Fx Maverick TRS Rail

UPDATE - You don’t need to take anything off with a dremel. I ended up throwing one of the old o-rings I replaced (I think I used a 9x1 NBR 70) on the threads the shround screws into, which ended up being the exact same height as the threads once it was seated flush with the barrel itself. I installed the TRS and screwed in the shroud until hand tight.

RTI  Prophet 177 pellet picky

I have 2 LW RTI barrels, .177.
Both benefited from a polish, several times to get truly accurate.
One shoots pellets and slugs great, the other only jsb heavy are accurate. The luck of the draw.

Other RTI calibre barrels just shoot any pellets and some slugs.
I've a few barrels, 2 cz, RPB, a LR and the .177 barrels. All genuine RTI. It's been testing.

Now seeing the 20 and 25 percent discounts in Europe on RTI p3 has me pondering.
Did the p2 assisted valve issues damage the RTI reputation?

RTI customer support was/is excellent, no question of that, issues were sorted admirably.

Team results, questionable. Iranian team, sponsor RTI good results but many non RTi components on the team rifles. Barrels, regulator etc

Let's hope RTI bounce back. Fingers crossed 🤞.

Safety is there for a reason HUBEN k1 DONT SHOOT YOURSELF LIKE MY FRIEND. (Pictures, there not to graphic)

I've done a lot of hunting underwater, the thing I learned and believe is if you act like prey, you become prey.

I too was a speargun fool! And yes! Underwater hunting teaches a bunch of lessons! You aren't the baddest animal in the sea like you are on land. And your swimming with 30 lbs of bloody fish on a stringer behind you like trailing pork fat on a bass lure.

Frickin' eels with heads like a big German shepherd under every rock. Pinche sharks out at the edge of your visibility prowling around. Damn sea lions as big as an oil drum. The opportunity to have a bad encounter is everywhere. And everything around you can swim EXPONENTIALLY faster than you can.

Your posture and presence often determines the reaction. Your reaction to aggression means everything when dealing with any type of wildlife or domestic animal.

Jackrabbit Hunting Northern Cali.

It's interesting that a couple summers ago when I went up to Hollister to do some pesting that everywhere I stopped in northern California, I saw ground squirrels, and jack rabbits. But of course I can't just pull to the side of the road and pull out the uragan and start shooting no matter how strong as the urge was. 🤣

Maybe its just me, but even thought it seemed like I was in the boonies I was still in California.
🙄

Allen
I went down to Hollister, saw exactly ONE squirrel, and of course it was the one I wasn't ready for. Bright sport was we went to the Corbin MC seat factory, they have a very nice cafe there, had a nice lunch.

Brocock/BRK  What Caliber for BRK Ghost?

I have the ghost in 25, reg set around 125bar and hammer set to 10 I get 900fps with 33.95. I got mine from tenacious airguns, he took around a week to do the trigger and tune it. It reaches 910fps at max hammer setting. I bet if you turned up the reg it would give more range. It shoots 33.95 on 10 and hades on 1 really consistently.

Western Airguns  Sidewinder Slug Diameter and length for .22 and Thread size for Moderator?

I took my factory moderator into the hardware store to test it out and verify the barrel thread for you, but did not exactly have perfect luck - they did not have a bolt that matched it. That said, I was able to confirm that the thread pitch is 1.0 mm, and I'm pretty sure the major diameter is 12.0 mm. The only 12.0 mm bolt they had was in a 1.5mm pitch, so it would not thread in, but looked to line up properly in size. I was able to use a 6x1 bolt to verify the thread pitch perfectly.

That's the best I can do right now . . .
I appreciate the effort, that's above and beyond!

Red Ryder on the hunt.

So my ten year old and twelve year old sons were hunting mice this evening. They were using a pard clip-on, (hand held) and holding the BB gun in front of the pard so they could line up the sights on the mice. They were able to snipe ten mice in all and are back at it as I write.

Impressive!

Maverick Trs Rail

I bought a Maverick Trs rail. I have a gen 1. And I noticed that with the shroud screwed all the way in the rail would not line up like that lip on the underside was hitting the rail. So I unscrew the shroud buttoned up the rail and screwed in the shroud on till it bottomed out on the rail. Is that ok or has anyone ever experienced this?

A human bipod

Wow Michael, is that a 600 or 700mm barrel? With the mod on there it sure sure looks like it can be cumbersome in and out of the holes on that shooting stand.

Allen
This is 600mm with about 6” of Impulse Air on the end 😁 it’s surprisingly quiet considering its slinging 30g slugs about 975 FPS. Thats about as much as I want to push this model. Any faster and I’d recommend the 700mm.

Another penetration test

I've made my own 10% ballistic gelatin before. I think the biggest advantage is the ability to see a temporary expansion cavity in the gel. It's probably more consistent than my wet paper testing too. It is easier to penetrate than wet paper, however, so you need more thickness to stop a projectile. The main reason I use wet magazines is it is easy. I also like the fact that the results are somewhat related to penetration in animals. I guess some think ballistic gellatin correlates but in my experience it is much, much easier to penetrate. Doesn't mimic muscle tissue. Not sure why a three letter agency uses it. For high velocity centerfires the temporary cavity is meaningful since it will be tissue damage in an animal due to their high velocity. But for a pistol or airgun, the temporary cavity looks cool but that tissue will just be stretched by our low velocity projectiles and a big temporary cavity could be misleading. But it certainly a viable testing option.
