FX  .30 Panthera Hunter Compact SLUG TUNE! +150 yard shooting (Video inside)

More often than not I find that pin probes degrade accuracy, presumably because the slug can move off axis during loading. FX has been selling pin probes for years yet all of the Panthera line, which are largely promoted as slug guns, come stock with the pellet probe. Seems like a strong hint to me.

RWS  Installed Vortek Piston Seal On My RWS Model 34

Wow I just looked at the date on the receiver and and my rifle was made in October of 1999. There is no trigger designation on the top of the receiver, just RWS, the Diana girl and Diana model 34 with a flatnosed pellet up by the breech.
T01 trigger. Really good trigger, many people think the best of the Diana triggers.

JTS  JTS Airacuda Max .25

Been a rocky road for me and Max, I've shared my experiences openly. Despite everything I continue to support this platform and consider it a solid value "starter" PCP. Here's a five-shot group @ 50 yds. JSB Exact King .25 (25.39 grain) @ 875 FPS for 43 FPE. (Regulator set @ 1880, HS 1.5 turns.) WM

H&N Baracuda Domed Airgun Pellets .22 Caliber / 21.14 Grains

Yep. H&N makes good pellets. They are my goto brand. My PCPs even like the 21s.

I'd recommend 18 or 14gr pellets next. But only the gun will be able to tell you what it really likes. As your skills improve you should be able to discern what it wants.

The important thing now is working on your skills.

A clean trigger pull. Steady sight picture and most importantly, follow through, are what you should be working on. Pellet brand is way down on the list...
Understand on the pellet brand; I had to start somewhere, and the H&N Baracuda's seemed to be a good place to start, and I opted for heavier rather than lighter pellets. Thanks for the recommendation on the 18's; I'll probably give them a shot after I'm confident with the new rifle.

October 28, 2023 PHA Field Target Match Results

We had 5 shooters show up for the match. It was a beautiful and warm day but we were able to stay cool in the woods with all the shade. We shot a 15 lane match for a total of 60 points. I would like to thank all the shooters that showed up to make this a successful match. Jack Edwards shot his first field target match with a borrowed gun and had fun and shot a respectable score for his first match.

Scores were

Rabbit Hole

Yeah, way back when I had a Daisy, heck who didn't back in the 50's early 60's. Back then I bought a Daisy 717 pistol modified the trigger, but the sights were horrible, still have it. The real problem started when I volunteered to eliminate ground squirrels at a Horsemans Association, I thought I could do it with a .22, yeah, not happening, so I bought a A17 the laser of rounds, perfect for 100yard shots, got 18 my first outing, only problem is a dog near the place hated gun shots, so....being the genius that I am I thought I'd try an air rifle. Not knowing a darn thing about them I got a Remington Nitro, ABSOLUTELY unable to hit a sheet to paper at 10 yards, turned out the barrel was bent, straighten it out and was an ok shooter but LOUD and still not good enough, so...enter the Rabbit Hole® Got a Zbroia Sapsan, ok rifle but a regulator issue sent it in for repair the same time that Putin decided to go see the sights in Ukraine. Months went by no fix on gun so....bought a FX Maverick VP .25, got it working ok, got a pre-destroyed Maverick .25 Sniper from a member here that had bought it from someone who should never ever be near anything mechanical, turned it into a .22 compact and fixed the stuff the first owner had FU'd, After a bit over a year both are tack drivers at 100 yards and the Ground Squirrels at the horseman's association are, well, greatly reduced. To make matters worse, I'm down the PCP Pistol branch of the Rabbit Hole® Bought a Tequila gun, awesome build quality, not a bad shooter and getting better.

Slug choice for .25 Ghost Hp

They ghost hasn't showed much promise in the slug area but slings pellets amazing. There have been a few occasions I have seen some guys saying the knockouts did well.
Well I tried the .25 knockouts mkII slugs in my ghost and they worked well. Although they were not hole in hole like the .25 jsb mkII pellets they were much better than nsa slugs of the same weight. Now if BRK would make slug specific barrels I would be real happy, otherwise I’ll be adding an FX dynamic to my collection.
Thanks for the tip.
