GX CS2 On Sale- is it worth it?

Good, another happy CS2 user ! Auto off would be nice, but I guess if you keep a log of how long guns take to fill you could know that time and do minus a minute and that time is what you have to sit and load magazines.

I ordered a long fill whip for mine and tested it out. Longer fill time but way easier since the included fill line is pretty short for cs2

Results  COA final FT match of the season

Yesterday COA hosted their last Field Target match of the season.
The morning started out a bit colder, I started a fire in the clubhouse to help keep the chill at bay. Shooters started rolling in after 9am, we ended up with 11 shooters total. Winds were forecast to be stiff, but the big gusts stayed away. We still had wispy winds and some shots were tough to gauge the direction the winds were coming from. The final Troyer rating for the course was a calculated 31.65, but with wind factored in was closer to a 32.5t. When laying out the course I had many targets scattered with alot of lanes spread across the field.
Out of the 11 shooters we had 1 person shooting WFTF PCP class. Tyler Patner tried his best and finished with a high score of 55.
In Hunter Piston Class we had 2 shooters, myself and Dale Prulhiere. Dale shot his HW30(which is around only 9 fpe), he finished with a stunning score of 28, I finished with a 36 for 1st place.
In Hunter PCP Ryan Spanagel came out on top with a score of 53 for 1st place. Seems the "Bunny" lane was tough on him with the near target being a 1/2" KZ at 25 yards, the highest single Troyer rated target on the course at 50t. Still a score of 53 is great, and a strong finish.
Jeff Swartz had a good run, finishing with a 51 and 2nd place, his worst lane was lane 8, an elevated "Weasel" at 50 yards, and a "Groundhog" at 53 yards. He got the groundhog once, the weasel evaded him.
Finally in 3rd place, Paul Nickerson finished with a 49 !!! He aced the teeny bunny target, and got the weasel once, and groundhog once. Paul has been doing well late in the season, it's great to see him shooting higher scores and having fun.
Scores for the different classes as follows:
Hunter PCP
Ryan Spanagel 53
Jeff Swartz 51
Paul Nickerson 49
Ken Santo 47
Ana Rose Spanagel 47
Donald Jelinek 36
Walter Wood 36
Darren Miller 32
Hunter Piston
Eric Jones 36
Dale Prulhiere 28
WFTF PCP
Tyler Patner 55
I'd like to thank all the shooters that have frequented COA for our matches this season. It's been good weather all season long, we didn't have to cancel any matches, a 1st for the club.
Now for some big news...................
I intend on moving field target matches, and the possibility of 100/50 yard matches to Cardinal Shooting Center for next season. I was approached after the PA Cup and given the opportunity to direct FT matches at Cardinal. I see it as good move for the club, more exposure to the public, an excellent stand of woods to shoot in.
Also having access to the 100 yard range will be good for the club, it's "ready to go"
I'm working with Cardinal on all of the details, more info to come in the near future. I'm hoping to secure a membership option for airgunners only that would allow practice time not only on the 100 yard range for benchrest, but also in the woods for Field Target.
Also next season I still plan on shooting at the muzzleloader club, at least having some funshoots on Saturdays that do not interfere with other clubs schedules.
In the last few years membership and involvement of airgunners has waned at the muzzleloader club. I'm hoping by moving activities to Cardinal I can gain some new members, and also have access to more volunteers, and run matches both FT and Benchrest at a top tier facility.
Who all wants to shoot at Cardinal? Who would be interested in a airgunner membership?
More info will be available in the near future, next year is going to be a big step in a new direction for the club.
Thanks for all the memories

Sig Sauer  SIG ASP

Picked one up a beechwood stocked .22 version last December son has a synthetic stock on his .22 ASP and sold a synthetic stock .177 version to my brother this spring. Nice rifles, just don't shoot it much due too parts/repair concerns. Maybe one day some adventurous soul will take one down and show us what it looks like in the inside.
I took the stock off mine to take a peak at how it was put together and came the conclusion "if it ain't broke, dont fix it". The trigger units alone looked pretty daunting. It'll definitely be one of those guns you want to have a camera rolling while you take them apart. A note pad may not hurt either.

Who knows though. Maybe these things will be like the Theobens and we'll get 30yrs out of them worry free🤞

FX  Switching barrel to different cal.

Thanks for the reply!

Interesting idea.
Any tips or SNAFUs RE the process?
Heard tell of anyone else doing this or similar?
I was considering using electrical tape to hold the O-rings where I align them, but hadn't considered stacking the tape the full width of the gap.

BTW, I did remove my barrel and found that the O-rings were biased towards the muzzle. Measuring from the breach, the three O-rings appear to have been installed @ 50%, 62%, and 75% down the barrel.
It is apparent to me that the O-rings have rolled some distance along the barrel as it was inserted and removed from the housing. I saw them roll when exiting and there are 'oil' marks along the barrel from the O-rings.
SNAFUs would be getting the tape too thick making removal of the barrel difficult later. I wanna say I tried the tape on both sides of the oring first and that did not work out as the orings still hopped over the tape. I would agree a CF sleeve might be a better route, but at the time those became popular they also became sold out everywhere I looked. The tape works for me as my .30 700mm is a dedicated .30 cal. I also have other things going on with the OEM shroud, so I need the shroud.

N/A  Great Shooters Again: .22 Haenel Model III DRP & .22 Haenel Model I DRP

Well a few weeks ago I picked up these two:

.22 Haenel Model III DRP, made in 10-1927
Tore it it down to clean and inspect it, refinished stock, seals were good, but I will replace them as time allows, spring is good. It is missing the rear sight assembly, I have one ordered and it should be here soon, it shoots at around 475-500 fps and is accurate or as accurate as you can be using rear sight base and front sight to get on target.

.22 Haenel Model I DRP, made in 1-12-1935
Tore it it down cleaned and inspected, repaired broken stock and refinished, again leather seals were good, but I will replace them as time allows, spring is good. It is missing the rear sight adjustment screw, I have one ordered and it should be here soon, it also shoots at around 475-500 fps and is very accurate or I may only need to install adjustment screw because it’s missing, have no problem groups under a nickel at 20 yards.

Overall I really like them both and they go well with my other old springers.

Surprised

rcarlisle.2290 The same here. FT is the most fun you can legally have that is why any old squirel hunter can run what you brung and have an excellent time. a I never competed, just shot for fun. Only ever placed because I went to SO many shoots. "Even a blind hog finds an acorn in an acre every now and then". Honestly tell me you would not have fun shooting a couple hundred totally differnt airguns folks just handed you to check out.

Mystic. Tyler hasn't even been shooting FT all that long and really did own only a 30fpe (forbidden unless a match director approves and thinking they did not want him shooting the 10 yard targets) ) BSA and only went once just to see what it was because, he really enjoyed shooting airguns and just about everytime he posted a fun fun fun airgun airgun shooting post I rode him about the joy's of FT. Really nice young man who figured out how to combine airguns and employment. And who among us would bitch about his job these day's? Shot at the TVA & didnt know who anyone might be except I recognized Brad Troyers name -didnt know he shot even- from the classifieds. You should have seen the look on his face when I turned to the wife and said "Honey this is the guy responsible for the 1st 100 airguns I bought" LOL. Only caught they last 6 shoots there but then the GOB opened and I shot a number of shoots there before one day asking someone "what's with the Play Ground of Champions slogan"? and he informed me "we had a half dozen National champions here today" wouldn't have ever known. Just THE nicest people who ALL treated anyone with any airgun as a equal.

Someone. You mentioned money. Everyone thinks MONEY to play FT. READ this post glpalinkas shared this week :
https://www.airgunnation.com/members/glpalinkas.1727/
And people who dont have the money (I sure never have and used to calculate how many (all organic) Squirrel I needed to eat to break even on the cost of an airgun. And, ole Ron our resident pistol shooting/writer/FT champion certainly has used some LOW cost rigs. I certainly do still have my modded QB78 that if handed to a decent shooter could win any shoot.

I think "Club" scares off some. But no membership, $5 to shoot or $10 if lunch was thrown in along with everyone welcome wasnt exactly what I was thinking everytime I heard the word. Also think "Match" and "competition" cause pause (did with me) but 99% of the FT events I attended would have been just "airgun shooting" to me. Only attended the Nations and World's because I always shot at the GOB and Roz being the kind soul he is waived the fee.

FT. The most fun you can have with an airgun. (also great improves your "F Class" shooting even if you only ever shoot that alone)

Y'all look at that link eh?
