Thank you! I'm in no hurry.Absolutely. I’m in the office today where I have a host of high quality imaging equipment. Unfortunately, the book is at the house ha ha. Should be in again later this week and will bring it with me and scan. Based on the table of contents the only page I might be missing is an exploded view.
One of the quality names I heard was the RWS 3400, also shown at my local LGS. Very nice wood but after reading mediocre reviews in 3-4 different gun forums, I decided to pass. It was not a Diana RWS 34.*** Youtube is your friend ***
Agree and disagree
Yeah, YouTube is great to checkout new products. I don't have direct "touchy feely" access to many things so I'm forced to study the specs and make my best guess before committing to an online purchase.
To help decide about a product I watch a couple of unboxings to see what's what then go to the technical stuff to get an idea of the performance.
I consider reviews carefully looking for any bias and watch for common threads (positive or negative). If several reviewers are impressed or concerned with a particular feature then I'm more comfortable with the information. As always, it's buyer beware.
Then there's the negative thing about YouTube - I hear about something, start researching it out of curiosity and end up convincing myself that I need that product.
I managed to avoid getting an Avenger (I have lots of .22 caliber PCPs and don't need another one), but was not so lucky with the Avenge-X... I have one on order, darn YouTube!
Cheers!
The 25s sound like a bottle rocket pop at 25 and under on a bird. Blows sparrows apart. They're pretty obnoxious on a squirrels head too.I really like the devastation of the polymags.. sad that I can't use them like I used to.. I bought 10 tins right before I switched barrels.. thinking about buying another impact and putting my 700mm barrel on it.. I shoot .22 polymags out of 2 of my pp700s with good accuracy so if the bird is 30 yards or closer I use that to hear that "polymag pop"![]()
Omg I'm so dumb thank you so kuchcock the gun before you fill.
hammer spring can sometimes push on valve enough to prevent it from sealing when empty.
cocking the gun takes the pressure off so it can seal.
That's why I installed a d52 stock on my 48. I installed padded cheek raiser that I bought from Hector. It made it just about perfect. I'm about 6' tall so the extra length of pull helped also.100% agree. Its too bad Diana doesn't manufacture the Model 52 anymore, the stock had a comb that made scoped shooting much more comfortable. And the length of pull was slightly larger, which tall guys like me appreciate.
I agree to a degree. Scopes are definitely better built than not long ago. Do a box test with a turn and a half travel on each knob and see how a $500 scope fairs. It may pass initially but if you do a lot of dialing they wear quickly and lose their tracking accuracy. I had the option until not long ago to shoot out to 625 yards daily off my back deck. My 22lr requied nearly 15' of dialing or holdover at 320 yards and my actual experience shows that inexpensive scopes only track well for short dialing and or a short time. Its hard to put a specific price break on scopes because some companies are over priced and under deliver. Others are a good value in some areas but compromise other areas. IMO to get a good long range scope that has good mechanisms and decent glass, $500 is bare minimum.
As far as as airguns and distances go. Airguns aren't typically shooting distances that require much more than mediocre glass. Their slow velocities however require a lot of hold over or dialing. A well built scope with ok glass like mid tier Athlons are fine for airguns. Mind you I'm not saying airgunners don't deserve top tier glass. I'm saying it's not as necessary under 200 yards as it is at 500 plus.
