Remarks:
Bill & Cindy set up a continental breakfast for our shooters while I pulled strings and did some touch up spray paint on some targets. Brandon helped replace some paper targets in the practice area.
With a little wind, the cold weather was quite tolerable. Almost everyone had some kind of hand warmers that kept our fingers warm.
We used the same pistol field target course for our all-standing match. It is the same pistol course that we used for the RFG Grand Prix in August. The only thing that was different was how the targets were shot. The target numbers were changed so that you shot the left target first and the right target second.
Every squad had a portable rifle rest stand for resting and range finding. For Chas, Paul and Leo in WFTF class, they did not use the rifle rest since it is not allowed at the World Field Target Championship.
After everyone was done shooting, all went back to the warmth of the clubhouse and had some homemade chili made by Cindy. The spicy food and assorted snacks were much appreciated.
Thank you all that braved the cold weather.

Next match: Sometime in December stay tuned (standing and kneeling)

A really great course to shoot an all standing position match! A real challenge for every level of shooter and a super way to work on one's standers! Thanks to all for setting it up.

Airforce  Tulsa gun show

ATN was at the show and I have to say that the new 1024x768 thermal sensor is quite impressive! I got to check out the Pulsar Thermion Duo which I was very impressed with. Unfortunately I have an ATN Gen 5 X-Sight that is the worse performing of all my night vision gear. Ospry scopes was in multiple booths and they actually raised their prices above what they have them for sale on the Internet! One booth from Texas was selling Airforce guns, but the pickings for air guns was extremely slim.

SOLD [SOLD] DonnyFL 0.25 / 0.22 Sumo LDC / Moderator Carbon Fiber Wrapped w/ 1/2 UNFx20 Threads

Hello AGN:

I have an extra DonnyFL Sumo 0.25 / 0.22 LDC w/ 1/2 UNFx20 threads that I'm looking to sell. As you probably already know, Donny isn't selling any more of these for the foreseeable future so they're getting to be harder to find for the time being. This Sumo is in mint, like new condition and has been meticulously wrapped in an automotive grade carbon fiber wrap that looks great; even the front vent holes have been carefully pierced on the wrap. The CF wrap can be easily removed without leaving any residue behind if you don't want it). It has a 0.25 endcap so will work with 0.25, 0.22, 0.20 and 0.177 calibers.

Price is $125 shipped

Moderator for a Sig Sauer MCX

I know this is not the best choice of rifles, but it's what I gots for a number of reasons, so don't ask. Since the barrel is not threaded, I used a piece of 2" PVC lined with a bit of EVA foam to make it snug to the 'moderator' on the MCX. This worked better than I thought, although it took a bit of experimentation and gluing the foam inside the PVC was fun. I'm using high density polypropylene mesh for my air dispersion/sound dampening. Cutting the mesh to size was easy, but my bore holes are turning out to be problematic.

I read a couple of excellent threads here and got some good ideas. I should have lined the entire PVC tube with EVA foam, although I think it's a bit too dense for sound dampening. I'll probably still do this anyway. I also left an air gap between my rifle exit and the first layer of mesh.

I was reading about the importance of volume, baffles and sound dampening. I definitely have volume, sound dampening will be addressed, but I don't think the mesh will be nearly as good as baffles. My force is low, so I'm hoping the mesh and volume will give me what I want, until I can get a PCP that meets my needs. I was going to drill some side exhaust holes at the end of my moderator, thinking more exhaust volume was better, but based on the threads I read, this did not seem to be the case. Once I solve my bore hole issues, I'll test v 1.0.

Assuming this isn't as quiet as I'd hoped and for a future PCP version, I need to explore baffles. I'm thinking of rolling my own with a 3D printer, but I'm a little lost on the mechanics and design. I'd read that 2 to 4 baffles is ideal, with some spacing (air gap) in between. I was thinking that my mesh would make good spacers, as it's fairly rigid and should add additional dampening. Do I need to fasten the baffles in place or can I just use spacers/friction to hold them in place? I'd also read about people using springs between the baffles to further reduce noise, but this seems like overkill at 16 fpe.

Any thoughts on the above? I want to take care of some small vermin BTW, the four legged variety.

Need your opinion on a bullpup

I'm missing the "irony", but I think the Edgun R5M, though not on the OP's list fits the bill perfectly. Just get it and shoot. I've never owned a Taipan, but that would be my second choice. At some point I'll pick up a Vet2 when the dust settles. They have a good reputation, but everything they are reputed to be is also fact with the R5M.

AEA  Good mould 58 cal ?

Huben  Huben GK1 storage pressure

I recently picked up a huben gk1 .25 and it is my first pcp airgun. In the manual it says to not let the pressure drop below 12mpa nor take it above 35mpa but is it okay to leave it pressurized anywhere between those 2 points if being stored for a couple weeks time? What...if any is the ideal storage pressure? Thanks for any insight you can provide.
That’s a hell of a nice choice for first pcp!My GK-1 will arrive tomorrow..can’t wait👍🏼

Taipan  Taipan Veteran Alignment Issue

You can remove the shroud from the barrel without having to take out the factory baffles. Loosen the set screw that secures the shroud to the barrel. The you can unscrew the shroud off the barrel.
Once you do that, you can remove the barrel if you do service. I do this to clean the barrel. Much easier to pull a cleaning patch without the baffle stack in the way

Hatsan  Hatsan Jet BT

I'm currently running a First Strike 4500 psi tank with an 800 psi regulator and it's doing just over 400 fps with my .25 22 grain cast wadcutters. I might try another tank with a 1100 psi regulator, but it's a hoot to shoot like this so I might leave it alone and call it good. It's raining today so shot count and shot strings will have to wait. It smacks my steel spinners pretty hard though. View attachment 409878
