FX  Advice on getting deeper into FX impact

Always remember, buy what you want, not what someone else wants you to buy. I took a 5 year break once and when I came back there was some negative feedback on here concerning FX. For some dumb reason I listen to these people, because I had been out for a while, even though I had never personally had a problem with any FX I owned, even to this day. So I made a mistake and bought a Taipan Veteran long 22cal. Nice gun, shot pellets great, but built like a square block, and I didn't like it. So I sold it to someone who did and bought 6 more FX air guns. You don't need to be an engineer to tune and Impact. FX is not the only airgun maker I own. I really like Daystate, have owned several of them, and would highly recommend them as well. I will say this, it is much easier to tune FX airguns if you own a good compressor.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Extremely Rare - SWIFT Rapid in .25 caliber *Priced to Sell*

Up for grabs!!!

It is a truly unique full custom build with the highest quality materials created by master craftsman Ernie “Swift” Olsen.

The receiver by Gordon Dawson, is based on the Theoben Rapid MK2 with improved specs, and a larger plenum. It’s made of 7075 aluminum, and has a milled weaver rail on top. The minimalistic aluminum stock by Ernie Swift has two anchor points, and sports a weaver rail below for a bi-pod (or accessory). The Magpul adjustable stock (with cheek riser) allows the OAL to be changed from 38'' to 41.5''

The trigger by Gordon Dawson is a dual stage competition grade ceramic ball bearing unit that is butter smooth and breaks crispy clean.

The barrel made by Lothar Walther, is a 17’’ hand-lapped .25 caliber choked polygon barrel.

Ernie also made the shroud, which extends 7'' past the muzzle. The shroud is made from a 1 & 5/8 carbon fiber tube with a pressed and fused aluminum insert. The internals consist of several different baffles and an air stripper.

The aluminum bottle is rated at 200b working pressure, 300b test pressure. So, here’s a shot chart using JSB 25 grains pellets and a 200b fill. 3 full magazines, 36 shots, ES 20, SD 6, Ave FPS 887, Ave FPE 44.

What it isn't
This airgun is not regulated, it is not the most powerful, it is not externally adjustable, and it does not have dozens of o-rings or tiny fragile parts.

What it is
This airgun does everything extremely well. It is very accurate, quiet, reliable, comfortable, efficient, easily serviceable, and has an amazing trigger. I had Martin (RAW) go through the entire rifle about 2 years ago, and he said he was thoroughly impressed.

I am the 2nd owner. The original owner paid over $6k to have this built. I’ve only seen 2 others in existence, but I believe there are at least 5 ;)

I told myself that I’d never sell this airgun… yet here we are. Now is your chance to own an extraordinarily unique full custom (one-of-a-kind) build that’s not only a collector, an heirloom, but it’s also a delightful shooter. Serial #0005

What is the most affordable Thermal Riflescope?

My budget is around 2500CAD. I have found a couple suppliers here in Canada but their prices are way out to lunch. On amazon.ca I can get an ATN THOR LT 160 3 x 6 for 1500CAD. That is the cheapest i see. I will check out that thread! Thank you for that -

Be careful with those Amazon ATN's. I was considering those at first, as well, before I decided to go with the Sightmark Wraith Mini from Brandon Optics.

Most (perhaps even all) of those Amazon ATNs are not night-vision. i.e. they're just regular digital scopes, without any night vision capability. They have all the balistics in their software, etc, but no actual night vision capacity. Often you have to look quite carefully at the description to figure this out, or even contact the seller to verify before hand.

PCP Sales

The brutal truth is the market sets the price. Now as my fellow members described the varying influences on that price in great detail, I'll just submit that i had several gun sales of various higher end guns, all sales concluded successfully with 10 days or less. Did I price them too low? perhaps, but I sure didn't give them away. This time of year, money is generally tight for most. If you set on selling it, drop your price and see if that gets any bites.

Taipan  Need to Tame my Taipan

I was never able to shoot dime-sized groups with 18.1s with my factory regulator setting at anything less than 900 fps. 800 - 880 were one-inch groups with fliers. I'll need to do more testing, but I really think that a mismatch between the regulator setting and my hammer spring affected accuracy. I have no other explanation. I'm looking forward to getting a huma and playing around with it to test out my theory.
I'm no expert, and you may be exactly right, but I don't understand how the reg/HST relationship would affect accuracy as you describe, as it is only the method of generating power. In my experience, I have usually played around with the HST until finding the velocity that produced the best accuracy. Sometimes, after balancing the tune, the reg set point and HST would be quite different than in my initial testing, but I have never seen a change in accuracy after returning to my desired velocity. One thing I have observed over the years of developing handloads for metallic cartridges, as well as playing with air rifles, it is often tempting to form conclusions from inadequate testing. Sometimes I would make a change and then shoot a couple of screamer groups, thinking I had found the Holy Grail. But 10 more groups proved me wrong. The results of your experiments will be interesting, press on!
