My old texan .308 carbine did very , very well with lee113 gr mould sized to .309 , like extremely well

I have probably shot maybe 50 pellets thru this cannon. It came with a weaver- style scope rail and under that is a traditional 11mm dovetail on the receiver. I ran a scope with a zero recoil mount on top of the weaver rail and it worked good. i purchased from Flying Dragon Air Guns and opted for a full tune by Mike Mellick. The gun pushes .22 Crosman 14.3 H.P.s in the high 700's fps, and RWS Hobby into the 820-830's. Accuracy is very good. Rifle came with instruction manual & paper w/test results after tune (included). This is a tuned spring gun with no twang, just a solid "thump". Reason for selling is Im missing a finger tip & have a hard time loading pellets.

I bought from Gmac store located in England a Steel Breech, it is extremely heavy in my opnion and it wasn't very well atatched to the gun...I didn't had good shooting experience with this. Months later I aquire The Clevercraft Picatinny Rail from ebay, I noticed a huge diference, it is extremely symple, very well constructed and the more important it is very light, the shoot groups start to apear and got smaller with the alloy barrel band...The clevercraft rail right now is out of stock on ebay, but I righly recomend them with a light scope for those Who are looking for precision.

My Daystate X2 Regulated loves them.

I was going to edit the recipe post but I decided to just add this 2nd post.
So between the veggie being almost cooked and adding the thickening flour/water mixture step, we removed the rabbit pieces and let them cool for 10 minutes and then de-boned them.
We added it back in and then added the thickener.

What we did was just for convenience when eating and isn't necessary.
We also skipped the dumplings. :-(

Thanks! I do a ton of 7.5m (that’s as far as I can shoot inside) work with my Daisy 853 and Weihrauch HW75. That helps a bunch.

Any owners use Carm mags in the Semi Marauders ?
Also are the Carm mags similar to Air Arms mags, no spring tension, no winding up?

I’m thinking of getting one of these guns, but not a fan of the factory Mags.

Here are the pellets used at Arlington TX and Oklahoma City over the last year. The JSB/Air Arms/FX 10.3 Heavys are the most popular, mostly in Hunter class. 8.44s and Monster Redesigns 13.43 are second and 3rd, with the 8.44s being popular with WFTF shooters.

Yes. Great for PRS, struggles to range find past 40 yards at 16x.

With gas prices these days........excellent shot there on that gas thieving bandit! Nice pic.

Please don’t take this as argumentitive.
I worked ten years at my local dive shop and was privvy to dive industry media. There was a time when filling steel and aluminum scuba tanks in water was fairly popular, especially before aluminum tanks arrived. Steels used to heat up very quickly because the walls were only about 3/16” thick and passed heat very readily.
What they found out was that lackies in some dive shops would either, let the fill whip connector hang in the water or it accidentally fell in the water tank. They did not crack the fill whip fill valve to purge the water out. So when they hooked the fill whip to the tank the small bit of water blew into the tank. Rusting and pitting would start in steels and corrosion in aluminums. After repeated fills it added up. Then, because the lackies were causing the problem the industry adopted a mandatory yearly tank inspection called Visial Inspection Plan (or Protection) VIP for short. That way they could charge the customer for the problem they created. Brilliant actually.
Water tanks slowly fell out of favor but some are still in use.
Before I bought my compressor I had a guppy sized tank. The paintball shop I went to jammed 2,000 psi into it in about 2 nanoseconds. So I used to put my tank in my chest freezer for a half hour then take it out, wrap it in a towel and then take it to the jammer. The pressure drop was minimal compared to a room temp tank that was jammed. YMMV.

Thought I would pick up on this thread instead of starting a new one as it already has good info in it.

As several people said, these scopes have caught my eye a few times, and after seeing Steve’s comments and getting a recommendation from another friend, I went back and read the reviews… again, to remember why they caught my eye in the first place a while back. I like nice scopes, but I also like trying low and mid range scopes to possibly save money and get a good scope. There are a lot of very good reviews on them, so with the current sales, I thought I should try one befor buying my next $1500 scope. At less than half price of my current considerations, $700 looks tempting enough.

Every review I found said the same thing about the optical quality… well above its price range. That is good, because his price range usually leaves some to be desired. Not bad scopes, but scopes like the Athlon Ares, Vortex PSTII, etc. Scopes that are good for the price.

I always prefer FFP, but have had several high mag SFP scopes in a row, so it was good to get back to FFP. I really want a 30x as well, so again… fits the bill.

I received it this week and was able to quickly sight it in and shoot for about an hour. So far, I am digging it!

Out of the box…

• Cheap cardboard box, but I am ok with that, because I hate paying more for packaging. Saves everyone money!
• No sun shade or scope caps (bikini included) , but many scopes in this range don’t. Not a deal breaker, but these are the things I wish would be included. Can’t find the Sun shade in stock anywhere at all, but turns out that the Athlon ETR shade supposedly fits.
• I like the knurling on the knobs. Not harsh but big allowing for a good grip. The mag ring has a built in hump that I like as well, so I may not use the included screw in assist knob for it.
• I love a big beefy scope and this fits that bill! I kinda like the blue ring around it as well.

Using the scope…

• Turrets - People always ask about turrets.
  • They have an oddity as many have said. Why locking on elevation instead of windage? I bet that gets swapped in the next generation! I keep trying to turn the elevation without unlocking it and I keep trying to unlock the windage!
  • No idea while they went “mostly toolless” on the elevation, but then have the coin screw slot on the windage. Again… another change sure to come.
  • I personally like the clicks. They aren’t so firm that it is hard to move, and they aren’t mushy so you can’t tell when they click. I think it is a good firmness that is right in the middle. They tracked exactly as I expected up/down left/right and were spot on.
• Reticle - I went with the tree MIL reticle that Ilya designed. I am very happy with this reticle.
  • I prefer Mil, because 10s just make more sense and are easier to keep track of when counting clicks.
  • The reticle is thick, and I love it!!! I always prefer a thicker reticle, as it makes it so easy to see.
  • Not overly busy and I like the 0.2 markings. I usually prefer a plainer reticle (no tree), but didn’t really want the mil dots.
  • Limited illumination. This is ok for me. Just the center dot and surrounding cross.
• Optical quality is nice. I was shooting from 4-5pm in the woods, so low light performance is important to me. This scope was doing great even at 5 when the sun was almost down. I’ll know more with more testing on this, so more to come.

Seems like there was more I wanted to say, but this has turned into a long post, so I hope it helped if you made it that far!

If the fasteners slip or movement = too loose if it strips or snaps = well too tight. Almost a 3 bears thing. Too loose too tight or just right.

All jokes aside ot can pay to have a good toque driver ..

Home Depot got a new digital one now that replaced the mechanical one I " use to have". Loned to a buddy and that was the last I seen it .. friends ya know.

I just received this scope from Athlon. It is a warranty replacement and is new. I just took out of box for pictures. It has a mildot recital. Nice scope and life time warranty. I will take 175.00 shipped to lower 48. I can take PayPal gift or add 3% or a USPS money order. Thanks,Don

Measuring head size with a 'Pellet Gage ' is an art rather than science. There is minor variations in roundness and some could fit by moving the head around a bit in the hole, I thought that was cheating so if they didn't almost fall in they went to the next size.

I've had the same concerns with the Pelletgage and pretty much gave up on it because of it. These days if I load one and it feels off I just shoot it away and load another. Either way, thank you for taking the time to do the heavy lifting for us.
