.25 moderator on a .22 gun?

The DonnyFL sizes are:

The .177/.22 is for a shrouded .177 or direct threaded in .22.
The .22/.25 is for a shrouded .22 or direct threaded in .25.
The .25/.30 is for a shrouded .25 or direct threaded in .30.

The shroud alignment could be off, compared to threads directly on the actual barrel. The new sizes are already up sized and ordering a size up is not needed anymore. This is how it was explained by DonnyFL.

Air Arms  Dieseling destroys accuracy.... a test at 25 yards.

Welcome to Airgun Nation and very sorry to hear about your friend's tragic story. I understand that your post is an attempt to dissuade others from the practice due to loss of accuracy, however,

*** The intentional induction of detonation/dieseling is contrary to the Airgun Nation rules. Yes, it does happen by accident occasionally. The introduction of combustion into an airgun chamber conflates Airguns with Firearms. Please do not post information that would encourage people to attempt this act.***

BSA Meteor Super?

I'm not sure yet, as I spent over two hours trying to sight it in with supplied sights. It would never seem to hold zero and the problem could be me. So I've added a BSA scope and, hopefully tomorrow afternoon I'll give it another test. Charles
Spent about 1 1/2 hours shooting the BSA with a scope and once sighted in it was grouping very well, however after about 30 shots the point of impact shifted up about an inch at 10 yards. Reset and shot about 100 pellets and all seems ok. The trigger is fine and one thing I really like is that I can cock it one handed. I have sever that are two handed to cock. As of now I'm happy with the rifle. Only time will tell. Charles

That time of year again..

Any rat experts in here know if they are all the same species of rat, just different ages, or if the big one is maybe another species than the others??
My money is on Brown Rat, _Rattus rattus_. They have the physical characteristics: relatively big eyes and ears, long tail, pointed snout.
They also were shot in what looks like a suburban or rural environment; Norway rats tend to live in cities in the US.
So the difference in size is age and sex. That big one at the bottom has what looks like a full scrotum hanging out the back and what looks like a coarser coat (fur) so that is a male. They can grow bigger than the females. The other ones I can't tell for sure; top one might be female, next two are still young, and the fourth one might be female as the coat looks finer and she might be pregnant.

Cheers,
Mike

PCP Rifle  SOLD BSA Ultra CLX sub-12 ft lb to Sell or Trade

I have an Ultra CLX sub-12 ft lb for sale or trade. Very good condition (some stock dings on the Minelli wood stock, dang it) and accurate to the millimeter. It is a .177, has two all-metal mags, a fill probe with a Foster fitting already attached, all in a Plano black heavy lockable case that fits the rifle. The threaded muzzle has the BSA "flash suppressor" that mainly just protects the threads. The trigger is fantastic as expected: two stage, light and very crisp (let-off of the shot requires little more than a thought). I have the trigger shoe set midway down the trigger stem and canted just a smidge to the right to suit my trigger finger pad. Power is as it came from AoA when purchased early this year, giving 48 consistent, full power shots from fill to 232 bar. Magazines are the latest from BSA and hold 12 pellets each. If you are interested in a purchase I am happy to send photos. I have set a price of $450 for purchase; that price has a little room to haggle.

Alternatively, I am looking to trade for a .177 or .22 Marauder, used in good condition and manufactured within the past 3 years (better Crosman barrels). Wood or synthetic stock, not interested in a SAM - just a classic bolt action Mrod. Such a trade would have to include a couple of Marauder magazines, a single shot tray, and a soft case for the gun. Missing trade items could be covered by a decent scope on the gun, otherwise I provide my own optic.

I bought the gun as my "bucket list" gun and discovered it is more gun than I need. Best accuracy and quality I'll ever handle but not my cup of tea. I am serious about the trade for a Marauder in good condition. Contact via private message per site rules.

Skout  .25 Skout Epoch

Ordered the 0-ring kit. There was a bit of discussion on this thread about degassing the gun between shooting sessions to take stress off the o-rings. I haven't been doing this but decided to start. The last time I shot, the gun clocked at 984 fps with an ES of 10 and SD of 2 fps. After degassing and a couple of days later, it clocked at 976 ave with ES of 10 and SD of 3. Not sure why the speed dropped but I decided to drop velocity to see how groups would react. I dropped the velocity to an average of 961, ES 6, SD 0 for a 33 shot string. Groups are sub MOA at 50 y. Best group was 3/8"

Not sure if degassing and these numbers are cause and effect but thinking the lower HP pressure is working better. I'll not be touching the regs for the time being and see how things hold.
Hoping I'm not pulling things too far off topic.
