If I recall correctly, the .25 HiLites did not use the
awesome Slingshot hammer/firing system, in order to coax more power. That would explain the clank, wap.
My .22 Bantam HiLite is fantastic, as it and .177 are much better in the HiLite platform. Top rifle is my .22; bottom is a .177 I converted to pistol.

10/4/2018- Six consecutive 5 shot groups at 50 yards with 16gr. AA averaged .50” c-t-c.
6/2/2020- Four consecutive 5-shot groups at 100 yards with 18.1 JSBs averaged 1.18”.
The smallest group measured .55”; 2nd best 100 yard airgun group I’ve ever gotten.
7/2/2020- Eight consecutive 5 shot groups at 50 yards with 18.1 JSBs averaged .49”.
