FX  New Bottle Installation

another related question, if opting for a whip plus 3 litre or 1 litre bottle to take with you can these be refilled at home from a 12litre bottle?
Sort of, can you, yes will you get the same max pressure, no, close but no. The one liter will be the closest. Somewhere here on the list a smart guy has a write up on it.

N/A  Revolutionary PCPs

Thomas airguns by Mike Niksch because of the super robust over built design...

I think hand in hand with that should be a USFT. Seems I heard or read that Mike says the USFT was the inspiration for the Thomas. And I can see some very obvious similarities in their basic design. For sure Mike added his own ideas and certainly refined the basic design into the Thomas, but there's still something beautiful and revolutionary about the simplicity of the USFT.

From what I've been told, the USFT was sorta LDs thumbing his nose at the move towards regulators and higher pressures. It was also his quirky way to "fix" lots of the issues seen with typical field target guns at the time. And from the second-hand accounts that I've been given, it was indeed all that and more. I saw a photo once, I believe it was of either AAFTA nationals or maybe even WFTF worlds, where everybody in attendance competing with a USFT was in the photo with their gun. In my mental image there were probably 15 guys.

But large air volume at low pressure, external cocking hammer, no regulator, massive clamping breech block, swinging transfer port, airtube=the stock, all contained in a platform with an amazingly few parts count...... revolutionary seems to be an appropriate word for that. Even cooler when we remember that LD originally built them in his garage with typical garage tools. What he wanted in a field target gun didnt exist, so he made it. Revolutionary.

I still think there's some merit to LDs thumbing his nose at generally complicated guns with regulators and higher and higher fill pressure. As I recently commented elsewhere, I'd sure love to see a 50fpe .22 with low fill pressure, no loading probe, and no regulator, that accepts 16mm barrel blanks without any transfer port machining and not held into the breech block with grub screws. Wouldn't mind some improved aesthetics over the USFT though.

Feinwerk Bau D-7238 model-80 ??

this is Feinwerkbau Download page you will see manuals and exploded views
https://www.feinwerkbau.de/de/Service-Download/Downloadbereich
just translate the page

i will tell you a story
i have a FWB 90 and i had been shooting it and everything was fine but i did know the internal buffer was the white or cream color one and decided to do the the replacement rebuild
now the biggest thing i had never done one but i know how so i took it apart and replaced the buffer and the breech seal and small breech area buffer
the internal buffer was in great shape
so did i waste my time YES and NO
the pistol now had new soft parts good for the next 20 years but was it needed not really, at least not yet

so to look into the breech to see the color of the buffer is your first step, if blue or green you are good and if it is cream or white it is original
the buffer is just that and you in my opinion never have to change the piston ring

ARcountry69 ever come back?

Way back in April (2023) a guy by the posted name of Arch "ARcountry69" wanted to try to sell
a Hatsan .45 cal. Hercules Bully, but ran afoul of the posting rules.
It seems he never even took the time to "Like" any of the 11 reply posts he got, much less ever post again.
He had said it was hard to sell his airgun, but folks do that all the time on Craigslist and eBay, among other sites.
Too bad he didn't stick around and get those 10 quality posts in, I've been in the market for a .45 cal. Hercules Bully.
Besides, he could have got to know you guys, (and gals, too, let's not omit them!)
and I'll just bet he would have gotten, just like I have, some really great advice from friendly, knowledgeable folks.
Shucks, he might have even decided he liked it after he got a bit more info, could have addressed any problems he was
having with it, reduced his aggravation level, and kept it!
A little patience goes a long way.
It was also a window into how so many people nowdays demand instant gratification.
I can't consider some of the so-called progress as necessarily positive.
But then, I consider eating home made ice cream by hand as a reward for the bit of effort you put in making it!
By the way, did you know there are 59 "alternate" ingredients
that can be substituted for the 3 basic REAL FOOD ingredients ?
That there's called lobbying gone wild. (Would make a heck of a video...)

N/A  What's your "old reliable" and why?

My AA s200 is my go to for pests in my pecan trees.BushView attachment 413054y tails and crows don,t have a chance. Adjusted it to max power and it gets the job done

Ive always wanted one of those CZ/AA200s. Various configurations seem to have been made. I like yours.

I've got a Veteran (not the one in the original post) that has a CZ200 barrel in it, .177. Mighty dang accurate.

Red wolf power level

I don't know how 22s are currently being shipped but it's not difficult to check your valve port. Just take off the scope and the 2 screws that secure the barrel. Pull the barrel and look down the front screw hole. You should be able to see the valve stem. The largest that the port in the valve and the frame can be is the diameter of the front screw hole. It might be difficult to tell if it's smaller but you can use the smooth end of a drill bit that's as close of size to the threaded grub screw hole to tell. I can probably find the right size if you need. It should go all the way in and be able to touch the valve stem. If not, you have a restricted valve body intended for 22. The 25s and 30s are the max size as described above but Daystate DID make 22s smaller ported and 177s even smaller in the past and may still do so. There is some advantage in shot consistency for this but I've not had any problems running the max porting for all. The frame and valve body COULD be drilled out but it's a delicate thing for the valve body... not much excess brass there.
If the port is smaller, you will have a decision to make... the frame could be drilled out simply enough and a valve body puchased from AoA or they could do the upgrade. I have no idea of the cost though.
The 30 should EASILY make 80 ft lb and really shouldn't be taxed much to hit 88 if it has the right porting.
