Athlon Ares BTR Gen.2 4.5-27x50 question

I have and use the Athlon 4.5-27x50. I first thought it was a great Optic (as this was my first "Quality Optic" that I had ever owned).

After Purchasing a few different Athlons and Arkens I don't see where the Price Tag of the 4.5-27x50 Ares comes from. It's 3x the price of an Arken SHV4 and really doesn't even keep up with Arken Clarity at higher Magnifications.

Would not recommend the Ares BTR unless you can get one for under $400.

Weihrauch HW44, FAC Version

My little backyard setup. Highly residential area so discretion is necessary. As u can c I have a Crimson trace CMR-206 Rail Master sight on this so I can literally "shoot from the hip" and be deadly accurate. This is the 1st $1,000 pellet gun I've ever had and before I even shot it I ripped it apart to switch cockin fron a right handed to a lect handed mechenism. Doing this is not for the "faint-hearted". It's actually quite hard to do. Example: I had everything apart but the assembly still wouldn't come out. But if I jiggle it just right the entire "guts" literally slude right out. It seems it's one of those "push down and slide out" tupe of mechanizm. it's a German/computer made object so everything fits exact. DO DON'T FORCE ANYTHING" anyway, I'm so glad I made it a "Lefthanded" cocking mechanizm. It is now "apart of me" and we work together for the perfect shot. I mean with a CMR-206 Rail Master laser I am in complete control of this Pistol. The CMR-206 is non forgivi

Pros
Once I switched to a "Lefty" cocking mechanizm it was nothing but shear pleasure

Cons
$1000.hey buy I jumped from a $180 Diana Bandit to this. And Im sure glad I did. I never knew plinking could be soo much fun. I mean I get 25 shots between fills. (The Diana Bandit 9 shots) dont get me wrong, I love the simplicity of the bandit. I just never knew that plinking could be as great as with the HW 44. Its quiet as u can get. It loads very easy. I cant say enough about this pistol. The only thing iD change would be is to make the safty quiet. Its so loud it chases the game away. Literally. Once the squirrels here the click of the saftey they are gone. Bummer.
Great guns but keep the grit away from the mags

New hunting opportunity

Unless the states, feds or both offer a sizeable bounty no way they will ever get close to the numbers they want. At some point they will have to admit it's a plan with no end. They will have to do so from now on at the
expense of all the other projects they have going and ones planned for the future. I don't know if a answer exist to save the spotted owl but a blind man can see this ain't it.
The math, $10,000,000 for the plan, $7,600,000 administrative cost, $2,250,00 Consulting (graft), balance bounty. Numbers not reached so this goes on forever.

PCP Rifle  SOLD FX Dream Tact .177

Looking to sell a nice FX Dream Tact in .177 cal. Had big plans for it but gone in another direction. Only shot it to verify function. It's currently shooting FX 10.3 at 825 fps. Comes with various different weight hammers to dial in whatever velocity you want. Has a brand new barrel kit with a used Donnyfl Tanto which someone drilled holes in. Very quiet.
The target shown is a full mag leaning in a doorway at 25 yds. The shot that dropped low was 100% me.
Comes with 2 mags, various hammers, an o-ring kit, and a plenum which I got with the gun. Not sure of it's value. Also comes with the Mueller 8.5-25 scope and mounts.
Asking $625 shipped TYD in the lower 48.

RWS  Question about a RWS 45

In his 2015 report, Tom Gaylord presented a D45 made in August 1988 that still had a leather piston seal. That's within months of the last ever D45's off the factory. So, there is no solid cutoff between leather / synth sealed 45's.

A small number were made in .22 cal, a few in .20 cal, and a tiny fraction with a walnut stock. One of those would be SWEET to get!

AEA  AEA HP Max tips and tricks

I might ask how many AEAs have you handled @ Nobody1 ?
If it’s just the used one you bought then you don’t have much experience with them m, do you ?
Certainly not a new one.

I enjoy my 3 AEAs. Reliable , accurate, fun and …. Powerful
Didn’t break the bank either
And they are good looking guns in my opinion
I have 2. I purchased a Terminator in .357 used at a great price and then an HP Max new in .357 because the Terminator is a brute. I shoot that off a Bog deathgrip and the HP Max is nice and compact and super light. Only issues I've had were me more than the gun, trying to figure out adjustment on the Terminator for semi auto. I got them to deal with coyotes but have yet to see a Coyote since I bought them. Apparently word got out 🤣

"Clocking" Problems with a moderator?

@WorriedMan diy a new shroud. Amazon makes getting CF tube in whatever diameter you need pretty easy. A few 3d printed bits and you are in business. If lacking a 3d printer, it's not that hard to cobble a solution together.

Only time I've had a moderator impact accuracy, something was dreadfully wrong.

This is the new shroud I just finished for my AGT Vixen Long in .177. It's about 60mm longer than stock. It is dramatically more quiet.

Don't think that's for me, just like making my own slugs isn't. Admire folks who do, easier for me to just purchase. After writing previous post, I realized that if DonnyFL's adapter replaced the OEM air stripper, what in the current setup is redirecting or "stripping" that air away now? Think I need to research external air strippers and if a moderator can still be used. WM

What is the best way to clear a pellet jam? Avenge X

Appreciate all the replies, didn't have time to dig into this unit now as I was on my lunch break. So good news and bad news, the good news is that there are no pellets stuck inside the barrel. Upon shining a light down the barrel it was crystal clear, so I unscrewed the shroud and somehow a pellet managed to strike the internal baffle located at the last 2-3", photo below.

Very concerning how this would have happened and more importantly how to keep it from happening again. As I mentioned earlier, only had this weapon for about 4 weeks and about 600 shots thru it. Pyramid did send me an RMA as soon as I had them on the phone and said I should receive a new replacement upon returning this one.

Oh look at that!interesting

HW/Weihrauch  Diana LP8 v. HW70

For those struggling with open irons try this....
Well you could just use a red dot, but this works.
Fill the notch up with Black car body filler....black fender filler is a good option.
Then re-cut with a U notch using a 3mm diameter Swiss file.
It works to clarify the aiming points.

The deal with U notches, is they work as half an aperture sight, making it easier on the eyes....
The U notch design is not match legal and rarely seen on modern guns as the square notch and post are considered technically better, and match approved, but old eyes do not focus well on the square corners.

SOLD Huma Mod 40 M14x1.25 thread

This moderator came on a used Leshiy 2 that I recently purchased on AGN. It is a .30 cal and my rig is a .22 cal. I won’t be using this not because it’s a bad moderator but because I have another that is set up for .22 cal.

Once again this is a very nice .30 caliber moderator that came from a Leshiy 2. It has a vinyl carbon fiber looking wrap that can be removed without any issue from what I was told. Personally think it looks pretty sharp.

$100 shipped to the anywhere in the lower 48. PPFF only.

PCP Rifle  NLA Trade for PCP

Have a few like new Lee reloading dies and some other equipment/brass I'm getting rid of and wondered if anyone would trade for a pcp carbine/rifle.

I won't post pics on here, but feel free to PM me to get my personal info and we can deal.

Not expecting anything extravagant, but I've got about $400 worth of trade. If you have a working 22 pcp like a stormrider, discovery rifle, or similar, that would be worthy of trade.

Thanks
