Question -
We know the gun shoots well, not proving much there. How is...your...control of the gun ? Show us your off-hand (by your avatar name) skills.

I have the same sight on mine. The Holosun's work well. Remember to keep the brightness to a minimum.

Cheap Norma pellets pyramid air sale

Color me impressed with these. They are SHINY and well formed, didn't see any bent skirts or blems. I haven't checked them for weight variation but not worried right now. Shoved 60 through my Mav. .22 Compact starting at 980fps #7 126 bar then worked my way down to 920ish #4. NONE of the groups was really bad but 958 #6 was a 1/4" group of 8 at 25 yards. 4.5 Sd, 12fps spread. Along the way to here I had 2 fliers about 1" out from the groups and 1 I have zero Idea where it went, I think 10" to the left, strange.

BSA  R10 factory regulator help

I resealed my R10 and was getting velocity in the 925fps range, which seems a bit high, so I tried adjusting the regulator, and when i first turned it, there seemed to be no tension at all on the belleville washers, (no air in the gun). So, I gave it a quarter turn after feeling pressure on the washers. When shooting over the chrony, I get 825ish fps, then it after a few shots it jumps to 860ish, then a few more and 890ish. I've tried more pressure on the belleville stack, no real change. I backed off the hammer spring and velocity goes down and up with spring tension on the hammer, but it still rises quite a bit after some shots. I don't know where to make the initial setting on the reg without ordering a reg test block, Does anyone have any idea of a initial setting ie. even with the end of the reg body or some such?

I've read that some R10 regs are good and some are bad, but this one seems waaaay off. I only got one string that was decent before messing with the reg, it was 927fps avg for 10.5gr Crosman with a ES of 15fps and a %ES of 1.62% for 20 shots. I'm just trying to turn it down to something like 850fps.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FX  Maverick compact .22 question

Just an update-
I installed the new hammer from Utah Airguns and it is shooting way better. Will need a bit more tuning to get it working the same as before but……
The issue is “wear” when the sear digs into the hammer. If you look at the hammer it becomes obvious what’s happened!
Thanks for all the help and advice!!!!

Gamo  Piston seal question

I'm thinking 177 and 22 cal are best for break barrels then move on to pcp for anything larger, it's hard to find a use for a 25 cal shooting 12 ft pounds, maybe pop cans but 25 ammo isn't exactly cheap.
Anything in .25 should be shooting at least 100 fps faster than the numbers you're getting. I've got cheap Hatsan .25's in both spring and gas ram that shoot 575 to almost 600 fps with the JSB's.
You're already in it, might as well replace the spring that as already mentioned is bent and will rob some power and seal.
If you have calipers, measure your piston seal, ARH sells a few depending on what size you may need:
For the spring, at least from Gamo, you need someone with an FFL to have it delivered to so local gun store willing to help out?
You can also check out TW Chambers in the UK. They list the Big Cat and parts for it:

Question about CO2 airguns

I picked up my Crossman Vigilante after a few months or more sitting on the shelf and it kicked as if no time had elapsed.

But I also know my other CO2 pistol a Daisy Powerline something BB gun would not do the same even with a loving application of that special oil you're supposed to use.

That said I would not trust a CO2 gun to hold air if you need to rely on it for that purpose. Always expect to put in a new CO2 cart. Best idea is to finish up your CO2 cart in a session and then pop a new one in without breaking the seal, so you can just twist/push/whatever when you're ready to shoot.

I do like the idea Doc C. had above.... a multi pump... for your special situation.

Now I am reading back and seeing this is for dog control. Use bear spray and save yourself a lawsuit or trouble with the cops. Pepper spray is more effective anyway.
