Crosman  Crosman icon pistol grip plug and swivel mounts

For these kind of jobs I would use something called thermoplastic or moldable plastic.
This is the cheapest one available now (I bought it and it works): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1YX39S5

Extremely tough, tougher than any plastic I have seen (no kidding here).
It becomes moldable when you leave it ion hot water.
I also you a heat gun with it.

It is like playdough and you could easily build a plug for the grip.
Since you are using your hands to mold it, I use it for simple forms where a lot of precision os not needed.

It comes in white color but I used black ink to color mine in black (or various gray shades).

Lightweight 177 slug performance in 12fpe guns?

I live in the uk, Nielsen are a bit pricey here
Bb
I'm in Europe, the Nielsen are expensive for me also.
Purchased 200 of the Mako when they first came out, £30, delivered to EU. Another expensive test.
Zan slugs in .177 work well but the better option for me, budget, available locally etc is the 13gr knockout.
Fortunately I'm not limited by power, so I'm able to experiment.

How do you verify magnification?

Why does it matter what the mag number is? You can see your target or you can't. Varifying the mil dots spacing is reasonable if you intend to use them for ranging.
If I buy a 4-16x scope and I actually get a 4.5-13x scope then I'm not getting the product I'm paying for. Also, for purposes of comparison or just for general knowledge.

Where I'm coming from is that I see a lot of products coming out of China that make big claims that often have no basis in reality and I'd just like to verify that things are what they claim to be.

Hatsan  50 caliber Hatsan pile driver

I buy my molds for my .510 Texan usually in .512 and .513 and then size down to .510.. The Lee .515 mold will size down to .510...I made quite a few. Accuracy comes from being able to get just the right size slug for bore.. If slugs smaller diameter accurately suffers.. The molds I'm using were originally for black powder cartidges...

Why aren't there more M3's in HFT?

I want all of my guns to be able to shoot FT if there able too. Since you brought up Palmyra, during the regular FT season they will often do a shortened 20 shot XFT target course in addition to the normal FT course All in one day. So I have been using my Impact to shoot the XFT in .25 then change the barrel to .177 and proceed to shoot the FT course. There is absolutely no reason you shouldn’t shoot your impact to start your journey. First and foremost FT should be about having fun! 👍🏼

Selecting a Scope for HFT - lessons learned

I assume it is meant to be a hunting scenario. Why it is named HFT. The squirrel doesn’t yell “I AM 36 YARDS AWAY FROM YOU. USE A 1/2 MOA”. You could shoot Open class and use your rangefinder. I used to shoot 3D archery and it was the same; unknown yardages. But we couldn’t use anything to range. You needed to learn to judge yardage with practice. In archery, if you wanted to shoot known distances, you would shoot field archery.
There's a thing called PBR which is where the trajectory is the flatest. For example with my 30 yard zero I could aim from 20 yards to 40 yards and still hit the brain of a squirrel if hunting them. A little closer and farther if chest shots.

I have eye problems so ranging with a scope doesn't work the best for me like in times past. Times when I won state matches.

It's just a pet peeve of mine because I like to know the exact distance rather than guessing it. So other than PBR I'd prefer using a LRF.

We have a UFT match here in AZ where distances are given and I enjoy it a tad more than FT. Why is because the KZ's sizes are more difficult for the distances so there is plenty of challenge.

Let's see your squirrel feeder

Kid's whacked a few off that already.

If they get smashed up by a bear or other animal they can still be salvageable sometimes. In those cases the test is if I can bend the metal back into place and then drill holes in and use rivets to repair it.

Not sure you could tell but the way you responded makes me think you are talking about human lifetimes. I was talking about standard wood framed builds and this one I have. It lasts about the lifetime of 3 wooden framed setups of the typical variety. Likely longer if a bear doesn't destroy them.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Air Arms S500xs .177 New in Box latest generation

New in the box Air Arms S500 .177. Scope has never been mounted.

These are out of stock at the importer and Air Arms doesn’t expect more to ship for two more months in February ’24.

But this one could arrive in time for Santa to put under the Christmas tree for that special someone.

I had one just previous to this one so what I will tell you about it is, first hand experience of owning one.

This is one of the latest models if you look closely at the pressure gauge, supplied chrony printout and owners manual.

The stock is a deep rich color without a blemish of any kind on it or the deep bluing of the action.

Although an S510 is a 10 shot magazine fed breech, this S500 is ideal for any Field Target class as it has a generous breech port for easy loading of the pellets. There is no need to purchase additional expensive ($60) magazines and your top shooters will tell you to choose a single shot over a multi-shot. This particular rifle is quite capable of 20 fpe max AAFTA ruling and because of the factory installed regulator and higher pressure fill rating (250bar) you can still get an easy 60 shots @ 900 fps from a single fill. The fully adjustable power port also allows you to tune the gun for the pellets of your choice and can be turned down to a basement target shooting speed of less than 275 fps.

RAW Rapid  HM1000X for 25m and 50m BR

it's very difficult to have a regulator that is capable of that kind of extreme spread of pellet speeds and perform as expected. You would probably struggle getting it to shoot good for both HV and Unlimited. One or the other but that is a big velocity change from HV to Unlimited. You could do it with one rifle but I think you may need to have 3 different regulators built to swap out to shoot LV 12 ft. lbs., HV 20 ft, lbs. and unlimited classes 50+ ft lbs. Very do-able with different regulators and they are very quick and easy to swap out.
Martin Rutterford at Airguns-USA is the guru of everything RAW, Rapid and Theoben and would be happy to custom build whatever you may be looking for.
Thx
Dan
P.S. Many shooters would opt to buy 3 separate rifles for the 3 classes as once they get it dialed in for say Heavy Varmint, they are reluctant to take it apart and change their settings that took so long to dial in to perfection. Just saying! :)
What he said. All things are true.

Events  Possible EFT , BR and Speed - Williams, AZ July 2024 - Need input - Thanks!

Thats because you can shoot all year round! In the desert during the winter months and then in the summer couple hour drive you get out of the heat of Phoenix and go up into the mountains where it is about 70-80 degrees. best of both worlds!! We have a friend in NM that holds FT and silhouette matches up in the mountains on the AZ-NM border about a 5 hour drive. I love that location and people and make it a 4-6 day camp trip outing. A plethora of options for wasting some air!!!
Thx
Dan
