N/A  Traditional Air Rifle With Least Recoil

sorry ,i was thinking of the OP's statement . Traditional rifles.
I’m guessing you’re from the UK based on the sub12 guns and I’m thinking that this might be a bit of a cultural misunderstanding. Most older American shooters grew up around multi-pump pneumatics, so when we think of old school traditional air rifles we’re thinking of Benjamins, Sheridans and Crosmans. Spring piston airguns over here only became common in the late 80s or early 90s. We always had spring piston BB guns, but proper spring piston air rifles were only sold through a couple of small mail order companies.

ToAuto A3 owners

AirShootinest still thinks it's the GOAT. I have a 100 cu in tank and I know ToAuto suggest you not fill tanks BUT. What procedure would you use to fill this smaller tank? I thought, connect the compressor to the tank, start fan and then compressor with bleed valve open, open the tank valve and close the bleed valve. Run for 5 minutes while watching the temp. Open bleed valve on compressor and shut tank valve and, then turn off compressor and let the fans run for 5-10 minutes or until compressor temp is back to normal. Then turn on compressor, close bleed valve and open tank valve and repeat cycle. Does that sound about right? Are any A3 owners using it to fill tanks and what is your procedure? Thanks!

Diana  Need some help with an old RWS 54

Thanks for all the help I received here!!!

Today my R54 has the ARH/Macarri VRT spring, ARH Tesla piston and breech seal.. Current FPS is 770's and ES 10-12 with 14.3 grain Crossman Premier pellets. Stock screws torqued to 15 inch lbs.
Accuracy is just amazing. If I do my part all the pellets go in the same hole at 25 yards using a scope.
I think I ruined the first ARH Apex oversized seal after figuring out how to size. The second seal sized much easier and broke in fairly quickly.
The original spring and seal are still good and produce 840's FPS with 14.3 grain pellets but both are in the spare parts bin for now.

I am very pleased with this rifle now. I think it shoots even better than new.

N/A  Barrel Length And Balance

or just buy a Crosman 2300s
the custom shop used to be a place you could build a gun for a great price but not any more
you can find used 2300s pistols in the 250.00 range on either Ebay or Gun Broker from time to time
https://www.pyramydair.com/product/crosman-2300s?m=928

just a note the factory barrel doesn't take advantage of the CO2 that is metered by the valve
so, the 10.1 inch barrel is a better choice and to have a LW barrel is a big plus

Umarex 30 slugs failure

Have been trying several brands of slugs in my Umarex Gauntlet 2 .30 caliber. They all have same problem, too tall. When you try and put one in the breech, it will require hitting the bolt, very hard. I have to carry a dowel with to remove slug when jammed. I saw that Umarex was selling 60 grain slugs in 30 cal. Thought I had found the perfect slug for the Gauntlet. Was I ever disappointed to see the same problem occur. Jammed again. Why would you put on the market a slug that won’t even work in a rifle you manufacture? when the delivery arrived, it contained two tins. One was opened and slugs were rolling everywhere. I informed Umarex, and have received no response. Beware of sluds not fitting r our rifle.
I know this thread is finished but it sometimes feels good to complain a little , umarex should have had a recall on their barrels for such an obvious flaw, paying shipping to return for warranty on a heavy rifle is not going to fix the chambering problem, i have a half dozen umarex rifles but choose to look elsewhere from now on, it just too bad videos are out their bragging on these rifles, alot of disgusted customers and im one of them.

Airforce  Did I make a wrong decision

In looking for a long range, heavy hitting sniper rifle I've been watching the AirForce products for almost a decade and they haven't changed much over the years. Guess they partnered with Rapid Air Weapons to get some fresh blood and modern technology into the company.

A sniper rifle was low priority the "airguns to get" list so I was in no hurry to make a purchase and have been bidding my time. I finally found what I was looking for in the FX Panthera and I'm very pleased with it.

I'd say that if you have that itch to try one of the AirForce products look around for someone within driving distance who has one; get a second hand one or buy new. You can always sell it through satisfying that curiosity will cost you some money.

I still look at the unique design of the AirForce products but know that I'll never own one. There's lots of more modern choices available.

Cheers!

JTS  Wise purchase or Not ?

Million-dollar question, we really don't know what label says till purchasing member opens box and reports back to forum. Best-homepro (eBay) was good until inventory ran out, Smarketbuy (Amazon) was also legit. One scammer figured us out and posted advertising pictures of YongyIheng Pneumatic ID plates, what arrived listed different manufacturer on plate. Wish I had more help to offer. WM

Apolo slugs, .25 33grn

Found a decent price on these slugs here

Cheap shipping. Anyone try shooting these out of an impact m3?
They shoot well out of my buddy's impact. One thing to note is that the faster you shoot these slugs, the better they perform. So anywhere from nine twenty to a thousand is what I have found.

Huben  GK1 - Carbine or Stock Mods

I can relate, I just turned 72. I can't take the italics off sorry, senior error. 😁 Obviously I'm a Huben and www.krazcool.com fanboy so take what I say with a grain of salt. I don't know your shooting environment or your physical strength. I really like my K1, I live in a California suburb where the lots average about 7000 sq' and I still shoot it in my yard, no suppressor, but tuned well down. When I go to the indoor range or the wide open spaces I can easily kick it up a notch. It's a very versatile gun. That said, it has significantly more bulk than the pistol. Therefore at our age a pistol with a folder is very compelling product, simply from a size and weight factor. I would chose pistol and go through www.krazcool.com to buy it, add a folder and get the attachment parts from https://huben3dparts.com/products/ . Light, powerful and you can easily resell it if you don't like it. 😁 Be sure and go to youtube to review krazcool's support videos, this is important. There are 2 common user errors with the pistol and the carbine for that matter. Allowing the magazine release lever to slam back on its own, it won't be long before it breaks, trust me. #2 be sure you seed the pellets properly and rotate the magazine before shooting. Make sure it rotates smoothly scanning for potential jams before you fire. If you get a jam, stop, don't fire it again, go to youtube, search GK1 jams. Kelly has a video on loading the GK1 properly, please watch it. I learned to tear down my Hubens because I made these mistakes and a few other bone head mistakes. Gregor is the father of GK1s, subscribe to his channel/library https://www.youtube.com/@gregorkamensek3923 he knows his stuff. Lastly, the pistol is really loud, you will more than likely need a suppressor. Everyone has a suppressor opinion and that's fine, here's mine. The OEM looks great but, many love it, but I'm not impressed by it's performance. I have a number of suppressors, IMO and I've put a meter to all my suppressed guns, this suppressor out performs them all. Its simple to add or subtract baffles modulating the noise level less or more as required. And this feature is big, it's easy to clean. https://www.impulseairgun.com/product-page/ia-1350 Ya it's pricier and I added a 5th baffle to further reduce the noise. Noise suppression is #1 on my have to have add on list. I don't want my neighbors complaining and asking me to quit backyard shooting. I absolutely love sitting in my yard, watching sports on my outdoor TV, on-line gambling, drinkin a beer and killin paper, it's freakin nirvana. My apologies to the morality police.😉🤣 I don't want to lose that privilege, so suppressor cost is a non-issue to me. Get the GK1 and the guitar then strum between shooting sessions. I think you would agree that at our age mental exercise is job 1, there is no such thing as too much. Good luck.
Have you perchance also compared the Impulse against the Huggett Magna? Thanks

Tuning  90CC+ plenums

AGT Vulcan 3 in big plenum mode, have,,,, OMG a lot.
My 700 mm Epic airguns Two ( tube version ) have 121 CC plenum, the 550 mm barrel version have 101 CC plenum and the compact with 300 mm barrel have 70 CC.
The bottle versions no matter the barrel length / caliber just 70 CC plenum

You also need a valve system that allow for that plenum to be dumped into the barrel.

I could probably easy extend my plenum or for that matter tank section with 70 CC more, i got about 100 MM from the end of the air pipe to the end of the barrel.
Not something i will pursue though as i shoot tethered all the time.
