Air Venturi  Avenge X owners - is it worth upgrading from the original avenger?

What a crock. It really doesn't matter what you shoot. It's about shooting. Going out and having a good time. I shoot a Avenge x, it shoots stupidly accurate and I love shooting it. I have friends who shoot break barrels, when we get to shoot with one another it's about challenging each other playing horse, busting on each other about a miss or forgetting to load to load.
My PCP cost, the way it's set as much as all of their rifles combined, I'm 70 they're in their 30's , I love to shoot with them we swap guns have a good time. I've shot smallbore in several competitive genre, centerfire rifle comp. it's all about shooting what you have, can afford and having fun. I work on guns all the time because I like guns . People are always talking trash about their gear being the best and it doesn't matter what it is.
I figure if the avenge x dies I'll just buy something new on the market.

StrelokPro scope selection option

I've noticed that in Strelok Pro the two different scopes I've used on the same rife have the same trajectory chart. Different reticles, but isn't an MOA an MOA? Or a MIL a MIL? All things being equal? Honest question since I'm not nearly knowledgeable enough in this area to be sure I'm correct.
Yes, I do get that the reticle view within the app would be different.
Yes, you can use a different but similar reticle and all things are equal and based on math with ballistics apps. I've been in this same situation recently and simply use a similar reticle offered in Strelok. It doesn't have to be from the same manufacturer either. You do have to set the click value and whether it's FFP and your in business.

Prophet for benchrest + TOP Records

Great shooting!

The brightly lit target range is very nice. Do you hold evening matches due to the heat, or does the wind die down at night?

Good showing, keep up the good work, and stay safe!
Hello
Sometimes, due to the lack of shade, competitions are held at night.(also It is very hot in summer)

Wisconsin airgun deer hunting -legal soon?

Myself and a few others introduced this to Wisconsin legislators in 2018/2019. And have been watching its progress sense then many phone calls to DNR officials and representatives,. It’s taken years to get it up for a vote. And to the guy who said it would be a firearm .knows nothing. Black powder guns federally are not firearms. Each state has there own laws pertaining to that.doubtful air rifles would ever be considered. There are like some 27 startes that allow air rifle hunting for large game. None of them classify them as firearms. It doesn’t fit the definition's. A one pump 1.77 cal placed right can kill. Fingers crossed this passes been waiting along time
This is not true... just head south to Illinois.
And other states also consider airguns firearms and they must be registered as such

Tree rats everywhere!

I don't currently have any stringers, but I do like their simplicity. Too long and loud for my taste, but if I ever come across a BSA Lightning, I might snatch it up. 12-16 fpe, 38" long, and comes with a silencer.
can't think o the name there is a company that prints moderators and will make a slip on with a slot cut or the front sight (black something ? )

M-Lok or Pic / Weaver

Not completely true. M-lok and Keymod are systems to attach accessories without needing to use sections of Picatinny rail. Both systems do allow you to add rails sections for compatibility with Picatinny mounts.

well yes that is true.

that area slipped my mind as i just use them for rails lol

WHAT YARDAGE FOR ZEROING

I zero most of my rifles at 50 yards and this usually corresponds to somewhere between 10 and 20 yards for the near zero depending on the velocity and the scope height. This also usually gives about a 3/4" holdunder at the highest point of the arc, usually at around 35 yards. This allows me to shoot most of my rifles accurately out to 60 yards without much adjustment. I also keep dope sheets in the form of masking tape attached to the scope bell that list the exact holdovers and holdunders to what I consider the maximum effective range, so I can always easily check on what the actual trajectories are.

I do most of this by chronographing the rifles, then use ballistic software, (Element Ballistics), to plot the trajectory, and finally I confirm the accuracy of the plot by firing a few groups at various ranges to ensure the plots are correct.

There are four guns that I deviated from this with. My Hatsan 135, R7 and Barra 400E all have velocities that are too low for a 50 yard zero and my Sidewinder is just starting to stretch it's legs out at 50 yards.

I usually also keep data logs on my phone and pieces of masking tape attached to the outside of the gun cases listing the velocities with different pellets as well as the holdovers at different ranges.

150 yard shot - Starling dispatched! (My second longest shot) =)

Are you offended? I shoot birds that have been specifically selected by the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife and classified as "INVASIVE SPECIES". Meaning, you can openly, and willfully shoot, European Starlings, Eurasian Collared Doves, House Sparrows and Rock Pigeons 24/7, 365 days a year without a license or any special permits. If you were even remotely educated on the issue of just how much damage/money these birds cause to Agricultural crops, and farmers, to livestock and even contaminating feed, and god knows how destructive they are to out native bird species that have the fend off these hyper-aggressive european starlings.....then we'll I seriously think you would have a different comment entirely. That is also why I hold absolutely NO reservations when it comes to taking these "bully birds" out..I'm leveling the playing field so to speak..=)
