Accessories  SOLD Portair Quick Fill (Edgun Eazy Fill)

Purchased and never used it. Bought a compressor so managing air is not an issue. While taking photos I noticed a flaw on the male quick disconnect. (See circle on photo) Pressure tested it to 4500 psi with no leak. Worked fine.

An educated guess, please

I received the ZAN 38gr (,253") a coupe days ago. Didn't get to test them right away because of the heavy snow storms we have this week. As I write this now we are in the middle of heavy snow and winds!

At any rate, yesterday was the one day we had that was fair and not blizzard like so I started to test the ZANs. I can't say for sure what the velocity was with the slugs at the factory reg. setting as I adjusted the reg. past the factory setting. Based on the guesses you folks shared with me, I decided to go +1/8-turn past the factory setting.

First shot showed velocity at about 545FPS!!! I fired a couple more to confirm that velocity and then assumed the rifle was in 'valve lock'. I turned the hammer in 2-turns and tested again. Velocity went up to an average of 1005FPS over 10-shots! 1005FPS was higher than what I was 'aiming' for but decided to fire a few groups to see how the Zans grouped. The slugs were grouping with no crazy flyers but overall group size not quite acceptable (for me anyway).

I'm looking for about 950FPS so another reg. adjustment is coming. I ran out of time yesterday so no conclusion out of this just yet. The Zan 38gr (.253") look like they have a chance of grouping well with the right velocity but still too early to say for sure.

Snow storm will conclude by Sunday morning and I'll likely get back to this slug testing Monday or Tuesday.

I would say that at the factory reg. setting..., those of you who guessed around 920FPS are pretty close???

Other  What should I get?

I think I've decided it will be the daystate huntsman revere for my first top tier gun. It checks all the boxes for me, and it's just a nice looking gun and every video I watch of them I hear it calling to me lol. The s510 will come later, or preferably a s410 bolt if I can find one.

The dreamline just doesn't do it for me like I used to think. It almost feels like a pseudo traditional rifle, doesn't have that elegance of the other 2. If I were to get one, it would be a field gun vs taking the huntsman out walking. It'll probably end up like some of my higher end guitars that never leave their case except to play in the chair by the Amp!
I got my non-regulated Regal .20 cal right here in the classified. One of my favorites that I shoot more than others, for sure.

Whats your favorite door plinker?

Tell me more about it? is it simi auto? 12 gram c0/2 what type vel? thanks Willy
Yes, 12g co2 and semi auto. It came with 2 21 shot magazines but you will probably want to order more. 😂 I've customized it with some carbon fiber tubes and a Buck-Rail Diana Airbug suppressor kit. I'll have to check the velocity, but it's decent and pretty accurate for a smoothbore.

Custom Walnut Stock For The New Altaros M24

The low scope rings arrived yesterday. Mounted the scope and first zeroed with a laser bore sighter.

Then zeroed the scope with some JSB 25.39gr pellets.

The trigger is light and crisp. It needs a shoe on to the improve the tactile feel of it for me. I will design and make one to take care of that for me.

I am really happy with the rifle and look forward to more shooting with it.

Seeing how our high temperature yesterday was -3 degrees, I was shooting indoors at 15 yards so accuracy hole on hole on hole.

Looking forward to spring!

I was using the single shot tray. At one point I decided to see how my cast bullets worked with the magazine. To remove the single shot tray I used a small screw driver to spin it and flip it out of the action. And as though David Copperfield was there I flipped it out and the thing just dissappeared.

I didn't see it fall from the action, but it had to have fallen. Looked all over the bench, under every peice of gear I had on the bench, all over the floor. Crawling around on my hands and knees. It is just freaking GONE! After 40 45 minutes trying to find the damn thing I gave up, and decided to just put the rifle away and go order a new one.

As I was handling the rifle to put it away I heard a little rattle.

Pulled the bottom metal off. When I was trying to spin and flip it out, it had fallen into the lower part of the action. Needless to say I was relieved to find it, but felt rather dumb at the same time.

RAW Rapid  RAW Regulator Settings

The only way I know to approach tuning is to first determine the velocity that shoots best with a specific pellet. Just play with HST until you find that velocity, which is then your target for tuning. That target velocity should be about 95% of the maximum velocity attainable at the final setting. So, if you want 870 fps. change the reg setting until you find the level that will give around 915 at the highest HST, then back the HST down to 870. That general balance should yield an efficient shot count. Don't know about sound level, but I expect it will generally follow velocity.

Air Venturi  Aveger loss of power

Thanks for the reply. I'm working with original (non-x) regulator. I tried 3 different snap ring pliers and can't get the cap off! Dogowsky said heat from a torch will work, I tried that.

Per your replay, may be I'll try an Avenge X regulator.
Yeah bud if a little heat didn't get it to break loose you may be better off just trying an "X" reg. I've seen on a lot of other threads that people with the original avengers were switching over to the stainless "x" version due to build quality of the older brass ones...?? and due to reg creep but............I've had two poopty stainless ones straight from the factory (pyramid air really...lol) soooo....both of which are fine after changing that hard to get to O-ring...lol. My personal opinion is that Air Venturi got a hold of and used/is still using some poopty/subpar orings. After chasing my first leak at the fill nipple i had nothing but problems with small leaks (couple hundred psi in 24 hrs so not terrible but annoying) until i had basically resealed the gun with all new orings. NO ISSUES SINCE, and every oring i removed tore or "fell apart" with little effort like they were extremely deteriorated. And i ordered and had to wait on my gun so it was definitely not "old stock" that had sat on a shelf ....Good luck bud!!!

Squirrel hunting experience and knowledge

Mine was almost 200 when he put his paws on my shoulder he was still at an angle and I'm 6'2". We had a full windowed front door with a shaded decal, he would jump with all legs ags his neck would disappear from the top. Scared three postural workers that say. Everyone thought her was a horse.

Umarex  My favorite budget PCP

I've been very pleased with both my Hatsan Blitz and my Beeman 2028. Compared to any other full auto with enough power for varmints? The Blitz is dirt cheap comparatively. Literally 1/10 the cost of a PB .22 not to mention the class 3 BS. I don't anticipate seeing a lot of activity by the Mfgrs. to further develop full auto it is a safe bet that more regulation is coming. IMO it is a get em while ya can thing. That said semi auto mechanisms are sometimes tweakable, and legal in our air powered world. That too will change.
I'm also happy with the Beeman, cheap and accurate it would be great if it came with the Buck rail muzzle and can from Beeman. Only slight challenge was removing the original front sight, pressed and glued it is on there. Nice and quiet for the backyard with the Buckrail can. All in under 200 bucks with the governors cut. Turned down to about 650 with H+N wadcutters I get 3 magazines per fill.
