I have a 1/2 acre in the city limits and can get away with some occasional, short-session shooting at 35 yards. Maybe 15 minutes at a time, 4-5 times a week in the evening when everyone is inside so as to not bother neighbors or draw any unwanted attention. Weekends might allow for more time if lawnmowers are going in the neighborhood. I love my home and my neighbors, but I seriously would have bought in a more rural area if I was into this hobby at the time. I don't think neighbors have an issue, but I don't want to push it and find out the hard way.

Here are two recent flea market finds. The rifle is a Beeman 500 and the pistol is a Daisy 1200. The Beeman shoots fine but I have not yet tried the Daisy.

I had one for a while about 15 years ago and being used I paid $650 back then. Decent but I wasn't overly impressed with the way the shot cycle felt which seemed slow so I sold it.

I'm going to go for a Cricket II, probably the Carbine Long. I agree the Revere would be most familiar to my Rimfires which I really like, but I want the air rifle to be a bit on the "wilder" side .

I’m also interested in moderator recommendations. I have seen people recommend going up one caliber size (e.g. .25 cal -> .30 cal moderator). Not sure why though.

I like the Bisley. Hate the cheap flimsy Amazon ones. I have a DG and wanted to like it, but I haven’t owned a scope it will fit yet. The eye pieces have all been too pin for it.

Just when i made them out of resin, then tended to keep liquid in the cavity until it was lifted out and done...a few slits in the walls would alleviate that, i just never did that because i'm still working through the first batch i made...
i use the open cap one, and use a ring of toilet wax to seal the top instead of a snap on cap or something. it can be a little messy...

I have use 20x, 32x, and 40x. The scope was never the issue. I have also spend a couple thousand dollars on scopes over the years trying to avoid buying a $1k scope....
