12 gauge shotshells loading question

There used to be an all plastic shot shell manufactured called "Activ". They were fairly popular at first, long ago, like in the 70's.
You might be able to still find someone that has them as they were reloadable. You'd need to grind off the rimmed portion, and likely cut them down, then crimp.
They may work for you.

One shot, one kill

"Most of my year-round work gets handled with small bores, but when it’s time to drop the hammer—especially on the bigger pests that demand reach, precision, and reliable energy dump—I reach for my .308 Texan. It’s tuned for 150 grain semi-flat nose boat tails running at 990 fps, paired with a DNT Zulus HD 5-20x for fast ranging and tracking. I’ve dialed it in for consistent shot placement, and if I do my part, it just doesn’t miss. Confidence piece for the jobs that leave no margin for error."
That sounds absolutely sublime.

POI change with temperature?

The short answer is yes, this is primarily due to the expansion and contraction of different materials in the rifle and scope as they heat up or cool down. Temperature also affects air density. At colder temperatures, the air is denser, causing the bullet to fall harder, while at warmer temperatures, the air is less dense, causing the bullet to rise harder.Just look at European competitions where shooters insulate the barrels or cover the sights with heat-resistant material.

FX  Hallo Friends- i want to convert my .30 DL to .22 cal- what do i need to buy?

I would consider what @Trucker3573 is suggesting, but it still a lot of power for small fragile birds… The scenario the OP presents is an example where “more power is less versatile” in many airgun pesting situations. Like @student suggest why not simply another .22 PCP? By the time you do all the theoretical swapping from .30 to .22, you probably has quite a few dollars in the conversion. A sweet .177 or .22 in the scenario you present would be murder on the starlings at a much less expensive “cost per shot”… Good luck!

HW/Weihrauch  Beeman 77 MK1 ball detent fixed

Don't you just stick the spring/ball bearing back in and peen the casting to retain the ball? Someone said it's good to be gentle when closing the cocking lever?
Only front sight hood I've ever seen! Was that originally supplied on the early HW77?
Specie, I have an early SN HW77 and it doesn’t have the hood. Maybe it was something on the Beemans?

Great fix Ron, thanks for posting. Going to order a couple for future reference. Shot mine today for the first time in forever and the lever fell out after firing. Turns out the whole front sight assembly is loose and will slide forward. Gotta see what that’s all about before I shoot it again.

Donny FL QD Mount - do you go one size UP?

I found on the smaller cousin Ryu that there was a specific baffle order that worked best, on a 22fpe disco but the yoko as delivered minus 1 section ended up winning for my high power impact and it's my 2nd quietest gun next to a moderated 1322. 75 fpe vs 10 on the crosman. It makes my buddies giggle every time it's so quiet for its power.
Great to know. To get extra sections, I ended up purchasing two Yokos, so now I have too many, but at least I can mix and match in the future if I go high-powered PCP. The only thing I wish with the Yoko is for a bit lighter weight but otherwise, it is built like a tank.

Yong Heng after piston replacement

I did a more normal fill tonight. Bottle was at 3100 and I filled it to 300 bar in about 25 minutes. That's about as good as my YH has ever done. The only issue is the temperature. The room it is in was at 27.1 C when I started and the YH was at about 65 C when I finished. I had 4 soda bottles of ice in the water for the whole time the pump was on. They still had ice in them when I shut it off. So I think I will put the ice in the water 15 minutes or so before I start next time. I'd like the temperature to stay below 60 C but I don't know if that is reasonably possible, at least until it gets better broken in. I will also try and have a couple more frozen bottles for the next run.

How many of you have been holding off on new ags?

I had an unexpected purchase. I dropped a low ball bid on a RAW HM1000x .25 on gunbroker. Got an email telling me I won. I had completely forgotten about that bid.

Makes the 3rd or 4th time over the years that I have received that unexpected email. Drop a low ball bid, sometimes you win the auction.
