It has been my personal moderator for the last couple of months. It has been continuously shot on a 63 fpe Condor since I printed it. It's been one of my standards for testing. I sell these at $65.00 TYD but this one is used.

This unit is 153mm x 49mm and weighs 4.15 oz.
It has a steel EZ Tap insert for 1/2 UNF x 20 threads.
.25 Caliber but could be used on a .30 if power was maintained below 75 fpe.

Here it is on the rifle.



It is accurate as these three CONSECUTIVE three shot groups at 40 yards attest. This rifle doesn't shoot any better than this with or without a moderator on any day. The rifle is tuned to 20 shots with an SD of 3 shooting H&N Barracudas at 940 fps. Definitely "MOC" (minute of critter).

But it cleans up nice enough!




It works pretty good if you gun shoots hard enough to make it work.

For the competitive air guner is a great tool for competition that if you win some money you could justify price.. for the average enthusiasts that could purchase one it better be sure it will really like it .. because if you dare to want a change you are going to lose a lot of money . These days almost no body care about high price used gun .. I have seen used in New condition BRK go for as low as $1500, reselling guns sucks lately.. the only gun I have seen go at full price are the slayers I imagine because they can't be purchased new , but their Evol line at 2,800 new are going to for $1600+ that is a serious loss of money.

I got an old Discovery VT-T, 4.5x18x44 from Centercut 5 or 6 years ago. My only FFP scope. It got mounted on my Royale 500 & there it has stayed. I love it.
IMHO you can't do better for the price point. Everything on it functions perfectly & glass is on a par with my more expensive scopes.

Looking for models that are in the 17 - 18 fpe range. Please let me know what you have.

However, speed is also dependent on your guns twist rate with higher twist rates being more conducive for higher speeds and lower twist rates accomodating lower speeds. higher twist rates like CZ barrels - Taipan, Kalibrgun, AGT utilize a 1/17.7 twist rate while lower rates like on some FX are 1/22- but FX has many, many liner variations. Personally, where your gun is already set at powerwise, the Hades will be going about 885-890 because of the lighter pellet weight. shoot it at that distance and see if it's accurate. Thanks for the advice. My barrel is STX of the generation just before the latest. It has two transfer ports without the bridge in the larger port. I read it has a twist rate of 1:24. So it is slow, which would make it suitable for typical pellet speeds. I’ll try the same setting as 18.13 first and possibly turn the power wheel a click or two lower.

I have 2 Notos on the way to me. Get ready for some quick-ship bottle conversions!

I've got a 300 bar bottle on there, and try to fill my big tank to 300 before matches so I've got some in reserve. But typically my fill is around 260-275 before a stage. In cold weather I'll get 15 to 18 shots before I get close to the reg, warm weather is more like 22 to 24 (2 stages if I had to), at ~75 fpe.

Re: weights... I want to get it on a scale, just to see lol. The arcalock rail and mini plate also have brass inserts.

Totally understand the shaky hands! (smile) I don't do much off-hand shooting these days, but have made some off-hand shots that I am proud of simply because I know how hard it is for me to hold the airgun steady without some sort of rest, tripod or improvised!

I finally received 2 of these today and I have to agree that they are not as stable as the BOG that the Akela lives on.

However, for $13.52 +tax, it seems that it will work well for my Fortitude when the chipmunk season starts. Not a bad tripod for under $15. I took a few shots using it with the Fortitude today and tonight and it worked fine, but I was also able to do just as well with my improvised step ladder rest over the last several years...not to mention using my garbage cans, etc, etc... so...(chuckle)

Still getting used to it and the only thing I don't like about it, on first impression without having used it much, is the ball head. I guess I simply have gotten used to the head of the BOG and the ball head is new to me and harder to keep the vertical crosshair... well... vertical. (grin)

All in all, especially for the price, I am happy. The rifle clamp I bought is OK, but I didn't check to see if it would actually fit my Fortitude. So, I had to add some dense foam padding from the low profile window fans I use just to make it clamp the gun tight enough. Seems to work well, so no problems.

I love these guns. Have accumulated several and I love the design of the platform, upgraded with Doug Noble parts, etc.

I’m a little disappointed that they all had that flex spot, and continued to for many years after it was well-known. I’m also surprised they are not innovating or learning from some of the mods people were doing and incorporating some of those ideas. Of course, they are clearly the ones who know how to maintain a US business producing airguns, so all respect to them.
