Air Arms  Air arms s400

I just bought a S510 XS with a regulator, it should be here Monday. I had a handful of S400 and 500s, and I don't know why I sold them. They had some dandy walnut stocks on them.
Pyramyd Air has a poplar S510 regulator - refurbished. That might be worth a look. I was considering that one, but I bought a laminated ultimate sporter.

Air Venturi  Sub MOA @50 with a .177 Avenger

Hey AGN. Check out my video showing my attempts at sub MOA groups, 5 shots, at 50 yards, with this budget-friendly .177 Air Venturi Avenger shooting pellets!

SPOILER ALERT
It is definitely capable of sub MOA as shown in my video. 2-out-of-3 5-shot groups are sub-moa. Time to push it out to 100 yards.

Sub MOA @50 with a budget airgun

I have only shot a handful of groups at 100 yards with my budget air rifles (all under $500 new). My most accurate, a P35-22, has given me one 200 on the 30 yard challenge and two three shot groups at 25 yards that were a single pellet wide. I've been tuning my P35-177 and P35-25 to try and get them to this level. Not sure I will get there. I have an original Avenger in 25 and need to mess with it some more.

My input based upon my limited attempts is consistent with the "it's a lot harder" camp. I think I was close to 3 inches with my 25 caliber Avenger and I was slightly over 2 inches with my P35-22. But there was non trivial wind both times so that was a factor, As you note, 177 has a worse bc so it is pushed around significantly more by the wind. I doubt you can get consistent sub MOA groups at 100 but you would have a better chance with slugs. They will move less in the wind because of the higher bc. My gun doesn't like them but some report good shooting in chinese barrels with knockouts, for instance. My P35-25 is more accurate with pellets but shoots some NSA and H&N slugs OK. I haven't tried very hard but finding a slug your gun really likes seems to be a lot harder than finding a pellet it likes, however.
Yeah I've tried a dozen or so slugs and none group as well as pellets at 50, but i did notice the slugs definitely buck the wind better. So by 100 yards the pellets do open up on the grouping but the slugs remain consistent. If it was 1.5" at 50 they are usually 1.5" at 100. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

If you could say what Airgun you are looking for maybe somebody could help you better
I’d really like an sig asp20 in 22 cal, but I know they are discontinued so I know I will be waiting a minute for one to pop up in the used market. I’d like to pick up an HW-30 in .177 for my significant other but am having no luck finding one of those either 🤦🏼‍♂️ seems I just like things that are hard to find. Was going to pick up a crossman 2240 and put a steel breach and longer barrel and stock as a stopgap for now.

Air Arms  How tunable is the Air Arms S510 XS

If you have any issues resealing your rifle PM me. I've had S510's apart so many times I can do it blindfolded.

Very easy platform to work on even with the weird proprietary Air Arms bolts and such on some models.
Thanks! I will certainly take you up on that if I run into insurmountable issues. I wish I had had to opportunity to confirm the regulator setting before I had disassembled the gun, but I can always tinker with it later, if need be. I suspect it will be at least another week before I receive my O-rings from PA.

PCP Rifle  NLA Texan .308 custom stock custom build w/mold, ammo

I aquired this rifle from the original seller just under 2 years ago, shot about 9 rounds through it and its been in the safe since.
This rifle is 100%

It shoots Lee 113 grain .309 at 860 fps consistently

The stock is custom made from Loren @ diamond gun stocks to fit the 580cc cf tank on the rifle. The rifle also has a talon tunes heavy hammer spring. I have receipts for the stock , that was just finished in January.

The rifle groups very well at 65 yards (see pics)

The rifle also has a Rocky Mountain Precision Airguns roller bearing trigger with 2 pound spring installed and I removed the auto safety (can still engage it manually) and I still have the auto safety to reinstall.

If you want to run a moderator no issues or adaptors required as the barrel end is threaded.

The rifle comes with the bulldog tact soft case which fits it very nicely or i can ship in a hard case your preference.

If you were to duplicate this brand new with the regulator , stock , rifle, etc., etc you'll be well over $2300

I'm selling the whole package , rifle, stock all the mods hard case and the Lee mold , the rounds I have cast for $1100 and ill cover shipping to lower 48.
PP FF, Venmo or money money order or cashiers check.
I'm only selling because its too beautiful and too good of a rifle to sit in my safe.

Donnyfl Fat Boy 2. What are they doing?

After all the hypes on YouTube about ppl praising Fat Boy 2 as the next gen of moderator that is caliber interchangeable and the bulky but short dimension seemed to please these YouTubers with the sound attenuation without the tube extension, and the claim that the tube extension would bring the bark down to whisper quiet.

So I bought it with the extension tube.

I was surprised that the Fat Boy 2 without the extension tube produces loud and sharp bark. The extension is heavy and attaching the two does reduce the bark but at a level that is not proportional expected compared to the volume.

I tried to add layers of thicker insulation material to the core in the Fat Boy and use hair curls as the frame to roll the insulation with no substantial improvement.

Do I have a bad luck or it's just what Fat Boy 2 all about?

Anyway, I'm looking for the alternative which able to accommodate both cam 22 and 25, light and no bs bark attenuation and the length should be less than 20 cm.

Please advise.

Thanks.
I am not happy with the fat boy either. I have been using a sumo on my FX impact three and I like it. Compared to my sumo the fat boy doesn't cut it.

Crosman  Crosman 150 barrels or 157 barrels any interchangable models for installing longer barrel?

Don

Thanks sure you know how we all get a wild idea about our favorite shootong airgun. Thanks for your help. Maybe I will pull out the El Gamo paratrooper it is close to what I pictured with the 150 with a longer barrel. I thought another Crosman model would work without any machining required.

Why such a sudden change in POI?

When I bought this gun it was new but the barrel had been polished and the trigger smoothed. Otherwise absolutely stock. Sights were locked in place, I checked all the accessible screws after the first time and found no issues. it has about 400 shots through it so maybe it was just due for a cleaning. I will try some of the suggested products though, I appreciate the advice. Thanks.

Crosman  Rebuild of Crosman Model 102 - Anyone know of a good instructional video??

I finally was able to dissassemble the 102......now I have parts that seem a bit different from the diagram
I'll post a photo tommorrow of the parts and see if I can get some guidance.....my guess is this has never been taken apart in it's lifetime.

Calculating BC

I've done that @ 100 yards many times recently. Even @ 200 yards before.
It may not be the most accurate way of getting a "true BC number". But close enough, without a time in air meter.
Then there's which drag model......which app. ???
I even considered getting the $1000. FX radar with different yardages and BC numbers on screen. Appears discontinued though.
The best value for me of this technique is comparing the many different slug types I make, against each other.
At 100 yards the ES should be small, or the round is probably unstable.
Just my .02 ..........
