Pellets VS. Slugs Redux

I shoot slugs because I want to dump alot of energy quickly and expand rapidly. Also can shoot higher speed so less drop. Pellets don't expand much at all so shooting critters with pellets do less damage and just pass through, not a problem with headshots but slugs better on vitals. Here shooting a Pulsar .177 16.5 grain slug @ 894 fps / 29 fpe on squirrel 38 yards away. I was off on my ranging so hit in neck instead of head but the slug broke his spine, followed it down a bit and almost exited left shoulder.

As far as accuracy these are 10.03g slugs moving 1019 fps / 23 fpe...target at 50 yards, 1/2" groups. Those circles are .75" (and the 16.5g slugs actually group slightly tighter)

Those 16.5g Varmint Knockers are new for me, just trying them out. Think I like the 13.43 JSB Knockouts slightly better and they group same, dime size and under @ 50 yards and great expansion.

AGT Regulator adjustment Vulcan3 .30 ?

If you do not have a tester, as there are no gauge for regulated pressure on the vulcan 3 you are playing a guessing game.

I run the factory regulator, and had the understanding that Huma regulators would have a gauge on their regulators to somehow ballpark it CUZ i dont think you will be able to 100 % rely on that piece of tape anyway.

So. I have absolutely no idea what kind of pressure i am shooting with in my Vulcan 3, but it is working just fine.

Those extra spacers i have no idea what they are for, in mine you just use the big one.

Cheap NV

I tried out the Triton Starstrike from Amazon this past Monday. The price was good so I took a punt. It was hideous. IR light wouldn’t come on after installing a battery. It wouldn’t focus properly, and trying to adjust the reticle with the control buttons in any direction did not work. The text in the viewfinder was unreadable without my reading glasses. I packed it back up and returned it on Tuesday. As always, YMMV…
My starstrike works flawlessly. Focuses sharp. You might have missed a step with the reticle press OK until it turns black. then it will move. The only thing I dont like about it is that it doesnt REZERO to center after Adjustment. My reticle is low and to the right. So I'm trying to pair it up with a short scope and delete the reticle.

Daystate Red Wolf HP programmer

Thank you both for all your inputs to the issue I had. Sorry I haven't responded to these sooner due to family matters that side lined me for awhile. I had received a response form tech support at AoA which indicated the black shrink tubed wire goes to black wire on the other connector. If done the other way it would not hurt the electronics, and it just would not read the data stored in the processor.
I did review all the videos per your suggestions, countless times, and felt very confident that I would not screw anything up. The most important thing I gathered from the video was to write everything down before attempting to modify any of the data. I am glad I did because my confidence of not screwing anything up was shattered, and I succeeded in erasing everything, I mean everything. Once I settled down, I was able to restore everything, and then adjusted what I needed to in order to reduce the FPE to 20 ft lbs. Again thank you both for taking the time to respond.

Pennsylvania Airgun show

Is it there?
"Beeman, who recognized the historical significance of the air rifle he now had on his hands, donated the weapon to the permanent collection of the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The Lewis and Clark air rifle, which had the potential to be deadly, was actually a peaceful instrument essential in the opening of the American West."
I called the museum in Carlisle and one of their staff said the Lewis and Clark girandoni is not in Carlisle. He suspected it might be in Ft Belvoir but I would need to contact the DC head office to find out more.

Huben  GK1 Perfected (v1 and v3 differences?)

Will do! I can dissassemble GK1 pretty much entirely, but fiddling with the barrel has been the only thing I didn't want to mess up haha.
Perhaps it's time to finally give it a try. Thanks!
When I first dissasembled I found out that the two alignment screws had gone loose, out of the four that hold the barrel assembly in place, so it pays to at least check, occasionally.
The easiest way to realign is to use a very tight fitting slug, half inserted in the barrel; I used altaros smooth 6.46, which has the added advantage of having a connical butt.

Benjamin bulldog 357

Only Benjamin Nosler Xtreme ...

RAW Rapid  Barrel length of new RAW ft pistol

Yes they are all glued together. If a shooter desires a shorter barrel for some reason, I recommend that they contact Martin Rutterford at Airguns USA to order that custom barrel and gun configuration. Once again, my FT pistol will shoot one ragged hole at 25yds and .175" CTC at 35yds, so I see no need to alter anything.
I'm sorry I guess I misunderstood that it was too long for your competition and I thought that was the only reason why you needed it shorter and I thought above that you couldn't get what you needed to compete, so I was just trying to help you figure out a way to get what you needed..
if it is ok for your competition then there's absolutely no reason to change it.
