Some BR questions and troubles i can´t solve it

I will add that wind flags do not need to be purchased and expensive to be useful. I'm not sure this is applicable to Spain but mine are made of yard signs put out by politicians trying to get elected. I don't grab then until after the election but they are then of no use for their original purpose and I've grabed over a dozen. They also work for attaching targets at a range without a dedicated target holder. For a wind flag I take one long piece of wire from the yard sign and a couple short pieces. I buy a styrofoam ball for one end of the horizontal piece and cut a piece of the "board" the political candidates name is on for the other end. A small piece of hard wood is the pivot point connecting things and a piece of caution tape goes on the yard sign piece of the horizontal. There are commercial wind flags that look something like this.

A simpler one that is even cheaper is just a ribbon on a coat hanger straightened out and shoved in the ground.

I am not trying to argue my crude creations are as good as commercial wind flags, only that they are a lot better than nothing.

I've shot at >50 yards only a few times but I did not get great groups despite using wind flags. Pellets have a very poor bc by powder burner standards so they move a lot more in the wind than projectiles with higher bcs. I see as much as 1/2 inch movement from fairly light (like 10 mph) wind at only 30 yards. That would, of course, be more than doubled at 70 yards. If you want a good projection of the wind effect you can get it from chairgun and similar trajectory programs.

Crosman 2100 Barrel Surface Rust

so, yet assume you have nothing to work on the rifle
your supplies will cost X amount and then you get it all cleaned up and now what, well cold blue and that will cost most and some good gun protector like Break Free
now you want the project but at what point would a nice barrel off Ebay be a better bet and there are some
now you will have to understand that there were several models of this and the barrels could be different and that would be found at Crosman manuals page
i would buy a new used barrel if the cost was a push

N/A  Labradar question

I did not know about that trigger, so I looked it up. While I can't answer your question directly, but it looks like the moderator won't impact anything much as it is an inertial switch. I think power level would be a bigger factor than sound level, as that directly impacts momentum and thus the movement of the gun.

I use lab radar's airgun microphone trigger and it works well for me, but the muzzle has to very close to it on moderated guns. I use it all the time with my moderated Huben K1 that is pretty quiet, but when I dial the power way down eventually it won't pick up the shot. The gun is a .22 caliber, and it works fine above about 450 fps or so but if I lower the speed below that it won't pick it up. I suppose I could take of the moderator and test, but never thought of that until right now as it really dows not matter much. Anyways, the point is that if the shot is low power enough and there is not enough of a reaction in the gun, the JKL approach probably won't pick up the shot either.

N/A  My pellet and slug best rifle selection

My "new" .22 slug gun, Edgun r3 shooting Daystate Howlers, .217, 20.2gr, NSA .217, 20.3 gr or FX Hybrids, 22gr. All shooting around 905‐915fps. PERFECT performance. Only slugger I own. Never wanted to go down that Rabbit Hole but it came to me set up, calibrated & ready to go (by Centercut, no less). WOW, simply WOW!

Snowpeak  P35X fpe limitations

Any updates on this one?
Yep. After watching several totorials and considering the pros and cons I decided that I'll keep the gun unchanged with the limited fpe. The most important pros is :

-Accuracy : at 37 yards I'm making 1 inch holes at almost every pellets/slug which is awesome.
- backyard friendly. With the limited fpe this gun is just so quietly. Pretty important in my case cause I have sensitive nabours who previously had complained.
-shotcount : with the limited fpe I'm getting around 90 shots before I hit the 120 bar reg. Way more compared with the 60 my bullshark archives.

To Sume it up. Yes I would stil love some more velocity but I realized that the above mentioned cons are more important to me than more velocity.

Anyway I really appreciate the awesome advice and engagement I experienced from all of you guys 😊😊

Finding the perfect scope for serious airgun accuracy

After years of casual plinking, I'm finally taking the plunge into precision airgun shooting with my .25cal PCP rifle. The stock optics just aren't cutting it anymore now that I'm pushing out to 100 yards regularly. I'm realizing how much difference proper glass makes when trying to spot those tiny .25 caliber holes in paper at distance.

What I'm struggling with most is finding that sweet spot between optical quality and practical features. The dream would be crystal clear glass at 14x magnification that doesn't break the bank, along with turrets that track reliably for consistent holdovers. I've heard horror stories about scopes that can't handle the unique vibrations of PCPs, even though the recoil is minimal compared to springers.

My budget is flexible up to about $400, but I'd rather spend wisely than chase specs. There's so much marketing hype around scopes that it's hard to separate reality from advertising. I'm curious what real-world experiences members here have had with mid-range optics for target work.

What models have proven themselves for you in similar applications? Any particular features that turned out to be game-changers for precision airgun shooting? I'm all ears for both recommendations and cautionary tales.
I have an Optison EVX first focal plane 4-16x44 and am blown away by the clarity and turrent accuracy. Would highly reccomend!

Play Doh pellet expansion?

You sound like me. Here is a post I made several years ago regarding ballistic testing.

Taipan Veteran 2 .25

The Mora has a newer, more sophisticated valve, an amazing trigger (all of these do), and is capable of more than enough power. I own a Vet 2 and it is wonderful, but the Mora would be my choice.
Hi, thanks for the reply, interesting 🤔. Only thing that concerns me would be the more sophisticated valve could mean more to go wrong? I think the Veteran is simpler and really well engineered and proven and I mean that in no detrimental way to the Mora. Would be good to know the effective range of the Veteran for hunting 😁

Howdy and greetings from FL

That sounds great! I'm definitely interested in attending an event. Just to clarify, when you mention ">20 ft-lbs airguns," does that mean you're looking for airguns that produce greater than 20 ft-lbs? I want to make sure I understand correctly. Is this requirement the same for both the Desoto and Knights Trail ranges?

Thanks for the info, and I look forward to hearing more about the August match!
Sub 20 ft/lbs…less than. Yes the requirements are the same. All AAFTA sanctioned follow those requirements. John
