Air Venturi  avenger 22 cal velocities

I haven't posted anything but have read a lot of your posts. I've been playing with my 22 cal Avenger and really enjoying it. I polished the barrel and
stabilized it with centering ring, opened the transfer port in the barrel, added a 19 cc plenum which brought it up to 32 or 33 cc, added a 580 bottle and a donnie Ryu. My last test was with H&N
21.14s which i weighed and sorted. The last group weighed 21.25. Reg set at 2100 HS 21/2 turns 904 fps 1/2 inch group at 40 yards no fliers . Just got some AEA 21.90 to try at the current setting. Also would like to try ths JST dead center 21s and 22s. Has anyone been able to try the new JSB 20. 53 jumbo lights. Keep up the good posts guys, Thanks

7/16/24
just finisned field test on AEA 21.90. Wow, these are some great pellets. Weighed and sorted starting at 22.00, .02, .04 .06. 08, .10, .12. lightest pellet was 21.99 and heaviest was 22.14. Combined the .02 and .04s, 2100 on the reg, 3 turns on the HS, fps 899- 906. multiple groups 1/4 to 3/8 on center at 40 yards. I thing i,ve found my go to pellet. can't wait to try the 25.39s.

Tuning  Tuning and noise

I have tuned a couple and recently bought a used HW50S Hunter with moderator that had been tuned. I could not stand the twang of my new R9, and I was getting dieseling, poor accuracy, and inconstant velocities. So, I ordered a Vortec PG4 kit with piston seal. Turned out the original factory seal was badly burned from the dieseling. Installing the kit got rid of the twang, gave a smoother shot cycle, velocities were very consistent. However it did increase velocities and made the rifle a little more hold sensitive. I agree that downrange the sound isn't that bad. I took my R9 squirrel hunting last week and could hear the smack of the pellet over the sound of the shot cycle. I have shot my HW50S with and without the moderator, and can't tell much difference if I am doing the shooting, but if standing downrange there is a noticeable difference.

EDgun  Dependability of L2

Mine sits "ready-to-go" 24/7. Leans against my compressor while waiting. Never a change in POI, no leaks, no hot first shots. Sometimes it sits for months at a time while I'm gone for work.
It's .20 with a 250mm barrel and original REPR regulator. Roughly 3 years old at this point.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Wts - Notos

Like new Notos. All original and untouched. No adjustments made. It shoots great with CPUM at 790 fps and also likes JSB's 15 and 18 gr. It gets three mags on a fill. I just don't use it so it needs to find a new home. Includes the box, 1 mag, single shot tray and a new replacement fill probe. I misplaced the original one.
Asking $240.00 shipped in conus.
Paypal preferred
[email protected]

Scope and rings not included but can be for an additional $30.00.
It is a Centerpoint 3x9x40 AO.

Now that strelok pro is no more what do I use?

SteveP-52

"You might consider looking at Mero from GPC Ballistics."
I have been using MERO for about a month now and while it works well for my .25 caliber, I'm having some issues with .22 caliber.
Comparing it to Strelok, the .25 caliber is pretty much the same until longer ranges come into play, then there are discrepancies, but in a good way.
That same comparison in .22 caliber is nowhere near what Strelok has to offer, so I'm working on that caliber to find a resolve.
Not sure why just yet, it's just WAY different, but Strelok has been pretty much spot on in the .22 caliber.
Strange.

Like JS above me suggested, contact the developer. He's always tweaking to make it better and at least from everything I've read about it, appreciates the input from actual users to keep making it better.

Need suggestions between a few PCP’s

Just my 2cents, and to give you all one more datapoint (although anecdotal) I own a neutron start in .25 and damn that thing packs a punch. And with slugs in particular it is ridiculously accurate (far greater than my .22 Henry lever action!) I have done some light experimentation with ammo and found what works/doesn’t. Only been running it with a hand pump which is quite a workout haha. But - it’s been sitting lots and has 0 leakage after months and months. My only complaint would be the fit and finish of the action (just the bolt really) is a little sloppy. Other than that, it’s pretty and a blast to shoot, holds up well

Umarex  Make Me Buy a Gauntlet SL30

You've mentioned "quiet" several times. I have a Gauntlet 30 cal and the first time I fired it, it was as loud as my 22 rimfires with standard velocity ammo. Once I added a good moderator I considered it back yard friendly. You also mentioned pass through danger. It's going to be just as bad as a 22 lr due to the weight of the pellets. Unless you think it is safe to shoot your 22 lr in your yard than the 30 cal should be good. If you are in doubt stick to lesser powdered .177 or 22 pellets.
I have several backyards ranging from 90ft to 5 acres.

I mentioned that I use hyper velocity ammo in my .22lr

A larger diameter 44 grain pellet traveling at 1000fps is most definitely not going to travel as far as a smaller diameter 40 grain bullet traveling at 1435fps even without going through an animal. Under these circumstances the .22lr unquestionably has a longer effective and dangerous range.

Passing through an animal will slow the larger diameter, slower moving pellet down considerably more.

Supersonic rifles crack in a way that subsonic rifles do not. That said as previously mentioned I will be adding a moderator to add to the "quiet"

Thanks for the input.

Short on details.. but supposedly Theoben is back.

Well the news is out, it seems to a limited run of Raw HM1000 blocks and not a return of Theoben.
So it will be a Side Lever Rapid (Raw) block with the Theoben name on it which can be ordered with different stock and/or bottle options.

No gasram breakbarrel rifles, no Bold action Rapids, nothing new but a limited run.

I am dissapointed, was hoping for gasram rifles and some new source for Theoben Rapid parts.
In my opinion its a way to get higher seals in the uk due to the fact that Theoben still give a warm feeling.

3000 dollar plus buys al lot of other nice stuff

Crosman  Crosman Icon Pistol Build

You can just buy the Beeman 2027/2028 which is the pistol version of the Crosman Icon, Beeman Chief, etc rifles.
No.

You're the guy that recommends a $1200 rifle when someone posts they want something under $1000.

I will never understand why people do this on forums. I don't want a Beeman 2027/8. I want a Crosman Icon pistol to match my Icon rifle.

This pistol cost me $108 brand new. How much is a Beeman 2027? Don't answer that, please.

Cometa 100 rifle

After much research using google and several videos I've just ordered a Cometa 220 in .22 caliber. At my age I can't just fool around and wait to order. Spring and summer are coming so I'll more than be ready to do a lot of shooting. Just never had a springer from Spain and everything I read and watched they are sure a good experience to take. Charles
Today UPS delivered two Cometa rifles from Keystone Air Guns and they arrived in great condition and after about an hour I'm beginning to enjoying both, however I like the sights on the 100 model best of the two. Might just be my eyes as I've spent most of the time before shooting the two rifles I had been on my cell doing google and playing cards:) Anyway for the price they hold a lot of joy getting to knew them better b y more shooting as I only spent about an hour shoot and sighting them in. Tomorrow I'll learn more. Charles

Push Barrel Airgun?

That's the one I had! That M1. I traded a Sheridan Pumper for it.
You got screwed! LOL!

Of course, the M1 "look" was probably your motivation, but who am I to say and yes I was young and dumb once... a long, long time ago in a universe far, far away.

Now, I am just old and dumb... (chuckle)

All my best!

FX  New FX DRS Classic, Pro, and "LIGHT" ?

DRS is shorter, lighter, and according to FX's website, it should be more powerful than the Dreamline:

FX's website says :

DRS PRO

.22 = up to 72 ft/lbs with 30gr pellet at 1040 fps

.25 = up to 73 ft/lbs with 36gr slug at 960 fps

Dreamline

.22 = 910 ft/s and 30 ft/lbs

.25 = 890 ft/s and 47 ft/lbs

Perhaps I am overlooking something???
Yes you are. The DRS Pro is not the DRS(light) tactical and has a different plenum size. You just compared the Dreamline which is the DRS Tactical equivalent to the DRS PRO which has a lot bigger plenum and is designed as a slug gun. The DRS Tactical is made to only shoot pellets by design BECAUSE it has the smaller plenum. Hopefully that clears things up for you. So DRS Tactical= Drs Dreamline
and NOT DRS PRO which is apples to orange comparison

Sheridan  Sheridan Supergrade model A My latest pick up

Neat to see these pop up.

Another came up on Ebay recently, someone got a whale of a deal.

the gun was bought, but not for that eBay price. It was bought for significantly more, but well worth it!

Here’s a link to another forum with before & after pictures of the gun

Cost $$ to fill a 75 Cu. Ft. tank in Reno Nv. ?

30 to 45 dollars here in West Texas, No matter what size the tank, refills to empty tanks same price, Got to watch them keep them from getting the 24 inch monkey wrench out to tighten it down,
Mike
Wow, time to buy your own compressor or get a new filler. That's crazy pricing. I pay $10 and think it's too much. SCUBA is only like $4 per fill.
