Sunflower seeds in a bum bag

I spent all my money on rifles for my daughter and me and have none left for buckwheat hulls. I am reduced to sitting on seeds.
I prefer the pickle flavored seeds. Just a note for the next time we shoot together. I'll give you the hulls when I'm done, but they may be sharper than buckwheat hulls.

Diana  Resealed my first springer!

@Pale_Rider ,
Congratulations on your rebuild. It's a nice to hear that you found information we posted to be helpful. It helps make that effort seem worthwhile when others benefit and report the results here .

Your pistol is beautiful as configured.

It's actually time to redo my own, my version is branded a hyScore 816 m with the molded plastic stock.

I used to like to hang soda cans from the pull tab at 20 yards. I would bend the tab up 90° and tie strings to them and then shoot for the tabs using the iron sights. When you finally nailed one right on the tab the can would go flying off the string - very satisfying.

Regards,
Feinwerk
Without the info you posted I would’ve been a lost. I like the iron sights on your pistol. For the range I’ll be shooting it is more appropriate on the pistol. Although, I have no complaints about the beeman scope that came with the pistol. It’s got some good glass.

I’m gonna have to try that soda on a string, paper punching is getting boring.

Looking forward to the post on your reseal,

Michael

Safety first, what should I look out for?

Heya Cody - welcome to Airgun Nation. You ask a good question in a thoughtful voice and seem like a guy who can take advice.

I have in order of possession, used:
Hand pump - not a fan

SCUBA - yes SCUBA tank 3000 psi Aluminum tank, filled at a dive shop (in the middle of the Chihuahuan desert...)

Benjamin Traveler air cooled pump (broke it)

Warrantee replaced with Benjamin Traveler (broke it too - learned why)

Got a SCBA fireman tank - 4500 PSI

Young Heng water tank cooled - still have it but don't use it ->loud and water tank is a pain

GX CS3 air cooled- one of the first to get one on AGN and posted about it - broke it, too many volts into the control board

Fixed the CS3, used it for another 18 months before I gave it to my son - still chugging along

GX CS4 - on board water cooled, 4 stage pump. That one gets used weekly.

I added a second SCBA tank due to heavy use. I can now fill one tank while shooting from the other on tether (bench rest)

I can fairly state that I have a bit of time invested in compressors. Heat kills o-rings and motors. Moisture (and high pressure air) kills metals. Keep em dry and cool.

Other  Most overlooked feature?

Balance is #1 in my book. #2 is ergonomics. #3 is trigger. A good barrel is a requirement. Not optional.

Balance can be adjusted or modified by several means. Barrel length, barrel weight (or weight savings), barrel attachments, heavier or lighter grips. Usually a lighter hammer helps, though have to mindful of tune and power output. Sight size, weight, and positioning have a significant impact.

Added weight often stabilizes, but if added disproportionately, can end up being a side or downgrade rather than an upgrade in performance.

A well balanced pistol can increase consistent accuracy by many orders of magnitude. As well as vastly improve ease of consistent accuracy.

Also, fwiw, I am very happy with any pistol so long as it shoots around or above 600fps in 22 cal. 650 plus in .177, comically my only .25 cal pistol shoots jsb kings at 925fps in a 9" barrel 🤣 it's not a Huben, though I would trade it for one 🤣

Other  Most underrated design/feature?

Great! I just saw a review on that rifle. Impressive! It fires JSB 8.4's at 900fps with good accuracy.

Oh yeah! Very accurate with the stock open sights and VERY hard-hitting, as evidenced by the holes in the drywall behind my never-before-penetrated-in-years-of-use pellet trap. ;-)

Other  Which specs have the most impact?

OK...In that opening statement of questions the words "you or your" was used 8 times, so from my chair with 64 years of "pulling triggers" a couple thing specifically about PCP's I've learned and internalized...works for me. Any of the better known brands, (I don't wouldn't never will go cheap) than try to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear. Companies like Daystate, FX, Kalibergun, Taipan, all guns I've owned and various models, In my experience, these companies know something about setting up their guns...the regs hammer springs ect at least close enough out of the box...WITHOUT RIPPIN' 'EM APART with out even giving them a chance by breaking them in and getting to know the platform, something I feel is very understated could take weeks or months only than more often than not I only tweek the Hammerspring and trigger externally, only ever messed with the reg on an Impact X with excellent results. Simply stated great trigger (Taipan Veteran) is paramount, be wastin' my time with unpredictable triggers AND getting to know my platform, practice shooting the thing, can't say I've never had a reg issue but that's the exception. Send me a new unmolested example of the afore mentioned examples and give me a couple weeks with it and historically sub half inch groups at 50y were the normal just trigger and hammer spring adjustments....My Veteran and Bobcat are years old and never even thought about messing with a reg. Not a lot there but for me less.is more with PCPs. Note 10shot group (30y) from two days ago shot from my chair...no.bench...THATS what a great trigger will do for you (me.)

Do I really need any more airguns....because i keep wanting to buy another & my wife's had enough??

I have collected 15 air rifles and 5 air pistols. I am not retired and have very little time to spend shooting. My wife says no more and I agree, I have too many, I can't shoot them all. My problem is I have not shot them enough to know which ones I really want to keep, it will also depend on where I end up in retirement. I only really have one more I would like to try, if I find it at a reasonable price, maybe. I am hoping to retire in a couple of years, at that time I will be able to spend more time with my guns and know which ones I can get rid of, I hope.

Gamo  Gamo Arrow Lighter Hammer Spring? Co2 Bulk Fill?

Sounds like a good idea. It's easy to access the hammer and spring, remove the stock, open the side plate with the four torx nuts, just get a finger in there when you remove the plate so it doesn't fly out of there and hit you in the eye, so wear eye protection when you do that too.

You could cut some springs off to make it lighter, but I'd not do that for obvious reasons, so try a hardware store or a good gunsmith should have a lighter spring.
