Crosman  BLUE FORK DESIGN for Crosman 2240/2250

no, the grips are Herrett and from what i see they no longer make them 5-6 years ago you could get them foe 75 bucks but not now i have seen prices as high as 299.00 of course absurd but they had a retail price of 120.00 from Herrett
with the Phantom adapter for the AR-15 mount you can go 1911
and of course you can find all sort of AR-15 grip
https://phantomonline.com/product/45-frame-only/

the BFD grip frame was for the builder that what something different and said screw the cost and today if they made them people would buy them the market is still there
with so many of the small companies that were around 10-15 years ago making custom parts as a hobby or business now gone the 2240 platform builder is limited to very few parts
i have been working on the Chaser platform but again the parts are hard to find which in reality is absurd also
another pair of Herrett on a Buck Rail grip frame for a Chaser
Royal grips on a Chaser
Steve Corcoran FX grip on a modified Buck rail frame

ideas and the willingness to try and a few pockets full of money can make that factory stock pistol your own
and one last pistol that is 2240 based again with SC grips and i bought this for a song like this 200.00 the good old days

FX CROWN NEED HELP

Hi,
You should watch all the videos from Sub12Airgunners to learn all about the Crown and Crown MkII. While the guys doing the videos are working on the UK sub 12FPE versions of the rifles, pretty much everything they do applies to the US (or what they call FAC) versions of the rifle. They usually show you where the differences are and what effect they have.
Below is the tuning video they did a few years ago which gives a very good explanation of what you are trying to do and a method to achieve that. Watch this, then use the link to watch the videos on the Crown and Crown MkII differences as well as the complete disassembly and reassembly videos.
Cheers,
Greg

Diana  Chaser Pistol Accuracy

That is too bad that these parts for the Chaser buttstock are not easier to obtain, it looks extremely well made and functional. I guess I'll opt for the simpler add-on cheek piece from ATI Outdoors. I think it is designed for the AK of all things. Parts for the AK on a Chaser...how's THAT for opposite ends of the spectrum! :)

Brocock/BRK  Atomic XR caliber change?

Caliber changes are “overrated“ particularly for small, low power platforms like the Atomic/Ranger XRs. They are simply solid for their intended roles, proven through field use by many. Just buy a second gun as switching calibers, in “theory” sounds great. In “practice“? 🙄
Yep, this is why I own many of the same model, just in different calibers.

Projectiles  NLA Pellet Sale Save $ - Predator GTO 11.75 .22 cal + 16.54 .25 cal

SOLD!

10 new tins of Predator GTO 11.75 .22 cal lead free pellets + 5 new tins of Predator GTO 16.54 .25 cal lead free pellets.

200 count each tin of the .22 cal and 150 count in each tin of the .25 cal.

The reviews on these are great. I’m only selling them because I’m sticking to heavier pellets for my magnum springers.

Price is for all 15 tins is $175 shipped to the lower 48 PayPal’d (friends and family/ gift).

For whatever reason these pellets are extremely expensive and 15 of these tins on a popular Airgun site will run you $357.88 without shipping 🤷‍♂️. Save $$$$ with me!

Barrel maintenance - less is more?

From what I've found on this forum and other resources, a spring-piston break barrel doesn't require much cleaning at all. clean every ~1000 shots or so, cleaning rod with a soft cloth patch, Dip the cloth patch in a small amount of airgun barrel cleaning solution or a mild solvent, and push it through the barrel several times to remove any debris or fouling (what fouling haha?), Repeat the process with a dry cloth patch to remove any remaining solvent or debris.

That seems pretty reasonable to me, am I missing anything or is there anything else that is best practice?
I see small accuracy differences when I’m shooting my benchrest pcp. It would take a really accurate springer to see that difference. I guess I’m saying that a slightly dirty barrel is not easy to see in a springer.

Standing monopod/bipod/tripod options

I'd agree with that. I also put expensive optics on budget guns. So I just realized I'm being contradictory. Do you use any standing aim assists?
I have a Kopfjaeger tripod. I use it for standing shots occasionally but mostly for sitting shots. Very stable.

The first half of this thread may help you to understand what is going on and how changing twist rate and muzzle velocity may help.

First Impressions with the Cometa Fenix 400 USC

Thank you a lot. I was just looking at this rifle, I’m contemplating buying it. Well done. What cal did you get?
I got the .22. I didn't do a crazy amount of research on it though so it wasn't a self-informed decision. I trusted some of the more veteran air gunners on the sub. Additionally, I liked the idea of having more projectile drop over distance (unsure of how true that is as I don't have anything to compare it to). I also liked having a larger caliber in case I ever needed to hunt with it.
