Kral Arms  So I surprised myself

The polymags aren't going to go the distance that's for sure. They're a 50 yard and under pellet IMO, but they're devastating when they smack a bird.
They wouldn't work for me at 35yds in the guns I had in the prior years, I haven't tested them in anything new. They're also too expensive for how often I shoot haha.

FX  What does this tell me about my tune (Wildcat MK3 BT)

You're there. As long as *you* are satisfied with the result, you're "in tune". Tune varies per person. For example, within reasonable limits I don't really care about efficiency - again, within reasonable limits. I have endless air, and don't usually engage in lengthy firing sessions, so to me accuracy with sufficient power are all I'm after. If I haven't maximized my shot count, I don't really care. OTOH, when I was hand pumping I cared a great deal.

You can tune for power, accuracy, efficiency, noise, or whatever. There are always trade-offs. You prioritize the aspects you care about and just try to keep everything else in the "acceptable to you" range.

GsT
Gene, makes complete sense. I wanted a balance. For my needs, flinging 44.8 grain pellets at 880fps is perfectly sufficient for my needs. I have tried higher reg pressure and pushed these pellets upwards of 950 fps but I have no need for that kind of power but it is good to know I can tune it to that level if the need ever arises. I am also lucky that I have not experienced any POI shift from day to day unlike some FX owners have experienced. I can pick up my rifle and it will hit where I aim. I also tested the first shot of the day after having the rifle sit overnight and it shot exactly at the FPS i expected/tuned it for so there is no reg creep.

I believe I have hit a happy medium of this rifle for my use.

Tar Heel Airgun Club Results pic heavy

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday for a great shoot! We had 15 shooters and we also held our first pistol match! The morning started with some frost and warmed up to the lows 60’s with some crazy wind! The course was a 35.75 troyer! Gerald and Vince had high scores for the day and both won their division. Jd won the pistol shoot. We had Frankie come out for his 1st ever shoot and used my sons gun and did great! He also cleared the standing lane which only 2 shooters accomplished. See you all next month!!!

EDGUN USA Youtuber has reached a new low...

For a while I was worried I might have to do some kitten pest control, myself. Local cats were going after my chickens. But thankfully, my chickens are tough-enough to beat up all the local cats. They similarly beat-up the local bald eagles. Right now they're only vulnerable to raccoons, otters and wolves (we don't appear to have any foxes in the area).

It appears the video is gone. Can't find an active link. :(

PCP Rifle  NLA Kral Rambo pump action breech block

Had my fun with it, time to move on. I prefer the side lever action over pump. This thing is fun for plinking and fast follow ups.

Will fit an np03 stock with a little modification. Works with all puncher line of air tubes and barrels.

Already has a dual spring mod done.

Law of diminishing returns

They helped make my Marauder a very handy field gun. No clumsy scope or the extra weight and quick on target. I'll admit that I am chasing the last of my once perfect eyesight, but I am of the opinion that shooting open or aperture sights is good exercise for eyeballs. That said, 35 yards is about as far as I can reliably hit a squirrel-head sized target. Beyond that, I pretty much need a scope.

Gun flexability, or gun numbers...which?

I like having a fun setup for each task. I tried doing the multi barrel setup with the fx maverick. Sounds cool but then there is a lot of tuning involved between each swap. Of course you can right down all your tuning settings for each setup and hopefully you will have it the same. I like that I can pick up the gun I need on a whim if/when the opportunity arises

Adapting a 1.1L Cylinder

I just saw this on the Huben Power web site
External adjustment, have to drain the cylinder to adjust down.

It appears to offset the cylinder which should allow using cylinders with larger diameters like 86mm 1.1L
CF 1.1L are actually cheaper than 0.7L CF cylinders

It looks like you would need to remove the barrel to mount the regulator.
Have to fabricate at least 1 barrel band too.

When Do I Need A Heavy Slug Liner For My FX Maverick VP 600mm .30cal?

Back before the 30 yard challenge started I messed with the 30 and the heavy liners. I shot the 30 yard challenge at 36 a couple times to get a 197. Actually it was the 30 yard challenge that helped me with keeping small groups at long distances. I believe the ones shot for the challenge were the jsb pellets at the time.

Post in thread '30-Yard Challenge' https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/30-yard-challenge.1214772/post-1231906

wow 2 years ago. But yes the standard superior liner still does well for 50ish down grain which at the time seemed like all of like 3 pellets. Maybe some changes in 2 years since?

Umarex  NOTOS Owners and modifications:

The whole point to what I am doing is to create a #6, nearly silent slug shooter. I hope to make this version available for sale soon.

I took it out tonight in the rain and popped a Starling and boy, let me tell you, the sound the pellet made at 50y hitting flesh was the reward I was looking for!

The sound the gun makes with the subscriber moderator insert is purely mechanical now.
I just bought a Notos and this is exactly what I was looking at doing in the future. Right now I'm gonna use it in the stock form for squirrels. I want to learn to do some mods I figured this would be the cheapest platform to do that with. What moderator is that on your gun? I am trying to get mine as quiet as possible since the neighbor feeds the squirrels. Which explains why so many are trying to get into my attic.

Mounts/Rings  SOLD Selling A BUNCH of scope rings/mounts (BKL, Sportsmatch, B Square, Vortek, others)

If you haven't seen my other threads, I'm getting out of the hobby and selling everything off in chunks.

Here, I'm selling a bunch of scope rings. I WILL NOT SPLIT THIS UP. I'm only selling everything as a set at a really good price.

Most of the rings are in like-new condition and some are actually new and still in the packaging. Everything is in working condition.

Comes with everything in the pic. I'm not going to catalog everything, but it's a combination of 1 inch and 30mm rings and 1 piece mounts. There are a lot of higher end brands -- Sportsmatch and BKL were my favorite (w/ a B Square steel 1 piece mount) and Vortek and other cheaper generics too (like Monstrum).

Price is $260 total shipped PayPal F&F or add 3%.

Price is FIRM.

The only thing I will trade for is a Fender Strat, Fender/Squier Duo Sonic, Fender Lead II or III, or Squier Classic Vibe Strat (50's, 60's or 70's) (with each side covering own shipping).

Accessories  NLA Assortment of new/take out factory springs

1000005648.jpg

All taken out of brand new guns - six taken out of either HW95/98 or 97 and I think all six are the full power (20joule) version.

Also have one HW30 spring and two Air Arms TX 200 springs (full power). Actually, I'm sure one is a full power TX200 spring, but the second may be from something else. I remember it coming out of a TX200, but it's 1 coil shorter than the other.

What tou see is what you will receive. Asking $100 shipped and insured in the CONUS. Paypal friends and family or add 4% to cover fees. Will also accept a USPS money order.

Email is tobinwebster at yahoo dot com.

Thanks!
