FX  (Solved) Unsure what to do next with my bobcat MK1 25 cal on high power

Really hope you can get yours shooting the way they're supposed to. Superbly accurate guns when they're "right". FX's exploded diagram on their website (click on support) will give o-ring sizes (I.D.x cross section or thickness) & it's cheaper to get them in quantity from places like Oring store, Mcmaster-Carr or Oringsandmore.

March 2024 TEXtreme Field Target Match Report

It was approved by the Match Director for this match, so it is now legal going forward!

What the hell kind of match director😈 would approve that? Obviously that match director FROM hell that actually believes rules a necessary evil.

That reminds me- My Course Marshals (deputies, actually) will be ecstatic to know your pink glitter Deputy badges have arrived; and they're absolutely FABULOUS! 💃

As requested, I didn't order badges for Pablo and Carlos.

N/A  .25 PCP for iguanas

My personal choice from one who helps clean up the place of iguanas and the newest invasive and a ferocious predator, the brown basilisk a.k.a. "Jesus lizard," is my airgun of choice with no tuning, no mods, factory set, the Benjamin Marauder .22 with my Hatsan 3-9x40 scope. I take down around 4 every week with the JSB Exact, 15.89 gr, which offers me very precise shots. I also use my Vortex Ranger 1800 rangefinder.

The shots are 40 yd minimum and last week, I took down a large iguana at 63 yd, although it took 3 shots to complete the job. Our surrounding alligators do the cleanup task, if not them, then the coyotes find them at night when they’re further away from the water. This very large iguana (63 yd) was 25 yd away from the water line when shot and I witnessed something for the first time ever. Even though the surrounding grass was at least 15-20 in tall and without sight of the iguana, the alligator left the water, full body, walked the 60-70 ft to find from scent and grab the iguana for supper and returned to the water to then gobble it up. Here's a cool pic of the scene.

When Alligators start climbing trees to go after the iguanas you'll have a real problem.

3 Starling hits

I've learned they can throw their call too, like a ventriloquist.
I dont know how many times I have watched a starling in a tree 20 yds away and almost hear no noise. They sound very low like they are farther away and other times be really loud. So I agree they can be like a ventriloquist.

Daystate Leggero check in

I ended up purchasing a Daystate T2 after discussing it with the team at Nuvair. They advised me to choose a 220V compressor, which makes sense since it has a shorter run time and requires less maintenance. The T2 fills up tanks more quickly, which is a huge time saver for me at home. I can still take my inexpensive Chinese compressors with me when I'm out in the woods.

I was at Fox Air Power recently, and they are offering 10% off during the 4th of July week. That promotion helped sell me on the purchase, so I hope to receive it pretty quickly!
@brandanbooth Sounds like some smart shopping. I hope it serves you well for years to come.

How to find RATS?

Just spoke with my father in law. He has a riding mower that a rat has chewed the top of the 12v battery all down one side into the area where the acid is. Why would a rat do that?
Ray

Presumably if you compare the chemistry of those plastics with that of naturally-occuring oils, there will be enough similarity that the rat decided it was beneficial. Us human just don't have a strong enough sense of smell to make that analysis.

The first experience I had of this sort I was on a bicycle ride through Jasper and Banff national parks, in Canada. I was about to go to sleep (tenting) and was washing my face in a stream. I took a bar of soap out of a bag, and lathered-up, then dunked my face in the stream to scrub. When I was under water, the soap was back in the sealed zip-lock bag. By the time I opened my eyes, the zip-lock bag was empty and torn-open. Claw marks about the size of a raccoon. Didn't see the animal that took the soap.

I guess the animal noticed the oils in the bar of soap were edible and nutritious, and it was hungry enough to go for it.

FX  Maverick Tuning

You need the heavier hammer. You converted your .25 compact to a .22. It should have had the heavier hammer anyway.

I have 3 barrels for this gun. One in 25 Compact, one in 600mm 22 and another 22 compact. So I did have the 25 hammer weight already. I had never attempted to shoot pellets heavier than the 18.3 JSB before. Now I know.

thanks to all for chiming in on this.

HW/Weihrauch  Which mount for a Weihrauch with an Element Helix

FYI, Sportsmatch T035C 2-Pc Medium 30mm Scope Mounts do not fit the Element Helix 2-16x50 HDLR (SFP) on the 97K.

Ordered Sportsmatch HTO36C 2-Pc 30mm High Scope Mounts which should clear.
I used West Hunters, but I'm still waiting for the 97K to come in, so I had to try it out on the HW30.

N/A  Seneca Dragonfly Mk2 Multi-Pump Air Rifle in .177

When you test your pellets, try pumping different numbers of times. The gun can be shot from 3 to 15 pumps. For example, if you don't need much power, shoot groups at 3 pumps, then 4, then 5. If you want a lot of power, shoot at 10 pumps, then 11, 12, etc. See if there is a number of pumps that gives the best group for that pellet.
My first gen Dragonfly (3-8 pumps max) shoots best at 6 pumps, not 5 not 7 but 6. 8 is OK too, but not as accurate as 6. I don't know why.

quick detach moderator

Well there is a advantage to the quick detach system. Esp if you use, fight with, or deal with a shroud that likes to attach itself to the mod more than the barrel. Or even a tensioned barrel system where you want the tensioned shroud clocked in a certain position and not move when you take the mod off.

American Air Arms  my 30 caliber EVOL have to try this Plenum

Tom had said that he had a conversation with Lloyd Sikes about the "magic" plenum size a couple of years ago and that it is difficult to pin down but if you find it efficiency can jump up. The 27cc in my Paradigm didn't work out for me, but in for a penny - in for a pound, I just ordered a 12cc plenum extension. Maybe something will come of it. I wasn't really looking to be efficient, but that can't hurt either.

newbie hand pump question...Vevor 4 stage pump? 30% more effecient????

I am 76 but in pretty good physical shape. I tried pumping again, this time my feet coming off the ground (I'm 170 lbs) at the last inch of pump stroke. I managed to get to 3500 psi, but can tell you I won't be doing this for very long! Thanks for all the encouragement and inputs!
