FWB  fwb 124 worth in todays market ?

I have a left handed Deluxe and 2 standards. For shooting the standard is lighter and I think handles better. What you pay for on the 124's is the name FWB and frankly the barrel. They shoot with match grade rifles for the majority of us shooters. Bought my first one in 1979 from Beeman. Did not get the super tune but did get the scope angle. Tuned mine later with Dryslide and Mainspring Dampening compound. My LH 124 is mint. Was rebuilt by ARH and seldom shot. I would be hard pressed to sell it. The two standards one in good condition probably $450, my original but not for sale. Gave it to my brother. And a friends in ruff condition which would bring parts gun prices. $300 I'm just giving values I am not selling anything here. But IMO they are one of the better air rifles made. I have a R10 (HW85) in 20 cal and a Beeman Kodiak (Webley Patriot) in 25 cal and the FWB 124 is just as nice as the Webley bluing and machining wise and better than the R10. They do not shoot up to HV expectations (800 fps) but they cock easy and are very accurate. My 124's had the tendency to bite the piston into the cylinder Gaulding the top part of the piston and the cylinder. Beeman chromed his upgraded pistons for that reason. But they are repairable and if lubed correctly hold up great. The trigger is another gripe that I have heard about and though not perfect if set correctly the trigger is very manageable. IMO they are an heirloom rifle that can be passed down to future generations. Name one made today that has that claim, other than a very few.

FX  FX Panther Compact 20 vs 30 MOA

Hi! I just bought a Panthera Hunter Compact. It has a 30 MOA picatinny rail mount. On their website states that this is late 2023. So my question is, are all new Panthera Compact from late 2023 onwards equipped with 30 moa or it was just a small batch - description on FX website is not clear to me. Also, which version is better 20 or 30?

Huben  GK1 .22 or .25

If at some point you like to take the power way down to plink and have a lot of shots .22 for sure, if high shot count does not come into play at any point then .25
I have both and Nomadic Pirate’s comment is the way I use mine. The two can have a significant overlap in the power spectrum by selecting pellet weight and FPS, but basically the .22 shines at low to medium high FPE. The .25 shines at medium to high power.

My .22 is set up at 27 FPE and my .25 at 47 FPE. I use my .22 more due to slightly lower pellet cost, but the .25 always makes me smile when it hits a target with that power. Example- hitting a mandarin orange with my .22 will split it. That’s fun. The .25 eviserates it and sends the empty rind flying…that’s just awesome fun!😁

There are so many variables in moisture problems.
1) Location, do you live in an extremely humid loacation? That will affect moisture getting into your guns.
2) How you fill. This covers a lot of ground. Is the gun above the low point of the fill hose? That can keep moisture from "rising" to the gun. Do you have a cotton filter to stop liquid from moving into the gun? Do you use desicant? Do you fill fast or slow, take breaks, etc?
3) What do you fill with? A hand pump is hard to pump fast enough to build up substantial heat and precipitate moisture in a large volume. Do you use a slow compressor Ie., a GX or similar? They don't fill fast and build a lot of heat. Does you compressor have any moisture mitigation built in?

That's just a few of the problems that can crop up. The truth is, and combination of them can cause problems, but all can be mitigated should the need arise. I filled with a GX for a long time, and never had moisture in any of my guns. I live in WV where moisture is not a big deal, so that's likely the saving grace. I now use N2 fed to a GX and that works like magic and no, absolutely NO moisture, so no worry.

If it's me, I would choose a method of pumping up my gun ie. hand, compressor, scba, whatever, and then use it and check my gun for moisture from time to time and let that be my guide on filters, and moisture mitigation. You can't argue with results.

Air Hunter Gerhards video of the DRS Pro, With Teaser !

Definitely louder. But not so loud you need hearing protection?

Did anybody watch to the end?

Panthera Pro elite. Now that's definitely quieter. Maybe even more shots per fill?

The pellet going unstable and spiraling is not the harmonics of the gun, it is the spin rate of the pellet which is closely related to the pellet speed but not exactly the same thing. The twist rate of the barrel plus the velocity of the shot determines the spin rate. Spin it too fast, especially if it is windy, and the pellet may not be stable. In light wind, low to even mid 900 fps may shoot great. But when it gets windy, the pellet may become unstable. I tune to stay under 900 fps most of the time because I want the pellet to stay stable even when the wind is blowing. My target for my current "new gun" is 875. My most recent string averaged 880 fps so it may stay there - needs a bit more testing.
