Crosman  1377/1322 grip question

your idea could work but i think you would lose leverage and it might be hard to use at all.
this one i thought had an interesting look and you would have to Email Steve and see if he still makes them.

tinkering is just that, take an idea and doing some R&D work and bring it to life and there is only one person you have to please and that is you.
I was thinking of milling a small flat on the pump arm (I replaced the plastic one with wood) and attaching a short picatinny rail. There are a number of foregrips made to attach to rifles this way. I could also use it for a bipod like on my Zoraki

Resources  beginner in BR 50, help, tips

Hello, my name is Axel and I have recently become the happy owner of a Taipan Veteran 2.

I bought this rifle to participate in 50, 75 and 100 yard BR events. I have not had very good results for two reasons:

I still don't know the best pellet or slugs for this rifle.

The other reason is that I don't have much idea of reading the wind with the flags.

Any opinion will be well received.

Thank you.
Hi Axel, welcome to benchrest - be prepared for the ultimate rollercoaster. Here's my tip for learning flags/wind. Make sure you've got say 4 flags at 50yd. Start by waiting for a condition where the flags are for the most part going the same way and the same height (ie 90/45 degrees etc). Aim for the center dot then see where you end up. If the condition stays the same (or wait for the that condition to come back) change your poa to as far over as you need to to anticipate the shot moving the same direction and distance and that's your new poa. Don't think about scoring - just practice the conditions - there's a lot of them and the more conditions you can get comfortable with the better your scores. Hope that made sense. It's a lot to remember so just go out and buy a case of Prevagen and you'll do fine. Bob

Air Venturi  Saber Tactical Chassis for Avenge X Tactical

The Saber Tactical chassis is what the OEM production Avenge X Tactical should have been to begin with or similar. Who does their designs for Air Venturi?? I am guessing Springfield Armory. (I think I read it somewhere.) One of the weaknesses of the Avenge X Tactical version OEM stock is where it screws into the rear stock connecting base it is a very weak composite plastic and mine broke off when the rifle took a dive accidentally. I think what Saber tactical has done with their design in regard to this area was to make the threaded stock buffer tube receptor of machined metal making it less susceptible to breaking and making it more durable. I like the Saber tactical chassis for the bottled version alot but $300?? I feel is a bit steep. If you think about it, it cost almost as much as a Avenge X 25 cal (tube version) rifle! I would consider $200 or less for what it is otherwise I will stick to OEM chassis just be more careful next time. I really think after a year or so Air Venturi should canvass Avenge X owners about if you could make this rifle better what would it be?? type of survey. Imagine if they even listened, and applied owner improvements on the Avenge X platform how much better a value and even more robust this rifle can be. I would probably sell the 1st gen one and get the more improved one. That's just me. It is a great rifle I have to say, but can be improved. Just listen to the owners they know best.

I agree with you. The X platform is perfect for modular upgrades. I would love to develop an alternative chassis for the X but it’s a lot of time to invest and I suspected there would be a lot of options hitting the market. My Idea was to make an MJF printed chassis at a more affordable price point and to stiffen the front in with a low profile mlok or arca rail.

FX  Impact M3 reg 2 matches reg 1 pressure

I would suggest to rebuild both the regulators. Each regulator has an effect on the other. This seems illogical but it happens.

Bhaur
Yep, replaced orings on adjuster screws and polished Delrin pistons etc. took most of the issues out but delrin pistons where dimpled badly so I couldn’t get all the creep out. Fx via UTA is sending me two new regs. Awesome support!

Thanks Bhaur for the assist and. Great YT channel btw.

Brocock/BRK  Brocock Sniper XR Sahara or Commander XR

Well @GunshipGuy how is it shooting?
I love it. Last week I pulled back to 70 yards--I had to "cheat" a little by shooting from my neighbor's yard. From a portable bench I was shooting quarter size groups. For me, that's great. Thanks for asking.

Bipods/Rests  SOLD (SOLD) Unobtanium Trump 2020 Edition Accu-Tac BR-4 G2 Bipod

Been buying some airgun stuff (and outfitting my wife's new she-sheds...) so I guess that I need to sell some stuff if I am not using it.

Up for sale is one of the original (more colorful than the current model) Trump 2020 edition BR-4 G2 bipods. These were released way back when, and quickly sold out and became essentially unobtanium.

I bought mine used off the AGN Member Classifieds, and I have not ever mounted it to a gun (and I would guess that the first owner didn't either - see pics).

Is it a valuable collectable? You have to answer that for yourself. My price, shipped to the CONUS, is $360. Method of payment accepted: PayPal Friends & Family.

This may or may not be a highly desired item, so by date/time stamp the first "I'll take it!" gets priority on the purchase. So ask questions about it at your own risk, as you might lose out. How many questions can there be on an Accu-Tac BR-4 G2 anyway?

Thanks for looking,
Tom

Theoretical question regarding slugs and barrel harmonics

Interesting, never heard of that before. What is the distinction between the two? In other words, how do you have one without the other?
Well you kinda did hear it before when you hit 970fps and the gun became a different animal. It wasn’t that your barrel suddenly stopped whipping. I’ve experienced what you talked about so many times. It’s hard to explain without writing a short story. I think the quickest way I can describe it is it’s how you get the slug out of the barrel. Once you find the best setting for an efficient launch, then you can tinker around in that zone if you believe you can extract a little more accuracy or consistency with barrel harmonics. The barrel harmonics thing is also dependent on what kind of barrel is on your gun.

Some food for thought. On a recent build I found excellence at 130b 920fps. I installed a L-Tech which now allowed me to get the same velocity tuning the same with 120b. But the gun wasn’t right and neither was the accuracy. I’m now at 140b and the gun has that nice snappy feel again and it’s accurate. Guess where my slug speed is? Yep, 920fps. The lack of a probe because it retracts gave me a boost in power but it changed the chamber volume and launch. So instead of taking advantage of being able to use a reduced reg setting to achieve the same speed, I had to actually increase it to keep the gun happy.
