HW/Weihrauch  HW80 K long range hunter

I believe they all came with it. My 1992ish R1 and a virgin 1982/83 R1 I worked on had liners. Unless you got your gun new, it was removed. They were initially installed to help support the early style cocking shoe. They still kept them after the development of the new style cocking shoe in about 2012. They still function as grease shield and take up space around the spring which arguably helps reduce spring buzz. It's quite common for the liner to get damaged beyond use when a spring breaks. The 35s, 80s and 95 family guns use them. Here's an 80 liner with a new and old style cocking shoe. I've taken most of them out of the guns I've worked on.

Wow thanks for a great explanation. This is a great community.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Weihrauch .22 HW100 BP

Purchased this used from AoA about a year ago. Originally came with the long, 24.5" barrel. I bought a 410 mm barrel shortly after purchasing and added a Ratworks aluminum air cylinder which doubled the shot count and reduced the weight. Great shooting airgun. Super quite. Last shot string on 3/3/24: 756 average fps with JSB or FX 15.9, 74 shots (6 magazines+), SD 3.6. I've drilled a small hole to allow access to the hammer spring without removing the stock as shown in the pictures. Stock has quite a few scratches on it, but the metal is in good condition except for some marks on the end caps from when I replaced the air cylinder. Comes with everything shown in the pictures including the original barrel and six magazines. Two metal original Weihrauch mags and four from Alternative Mag, which I like much better. Scope not included

Centra Front Iris magnified.

i'll tell you i have never even seen one before i started looking and that fell it to my lap
i did a Google search on the part number and that it is all i found
i would go to Creedmoor sports and ask if they can order one and i believe Buinger will ship to the states but the shipping will take all the fun out of
https://www.creedmoorsports.com/category/CENTRA

https://shop.mec-shot.com/iris-ringkorn-vario-square.html

https://www.edinkillie.co.uk/centra/centra-vario-square-foresight-iris-p-1642.html

what i can tell is the chances of finding one in the states is very low they are advertised in Europe and mainly Germany and i don't know how well Centra is supported in the states
here is another company you could call

https://www.nordicmarksman.com/Centra-2.html

for me it looks a little odd that you would have so much field of view blocked but it is opinion with no firsthand knowledge of the product
they are not cheap

about all i can do for you

FX  Fx drs barrel

Why does this rifle have a powder burner ”magazine”, doesn’t seem like a good idea. Looks even worse with the MDT chassis, it’s not going to be a trainer for PRS PB because of no recoil, balance etc…
Well it’s really not much less recoil that of a 22lr and that’s probably what they assume you’re going to be buying this to practice with for but hey it could just be a marketing strategy to get more powder burners into air rifles..? Hey buy this you won’t disturb your neighbor and you could shoot gobs of lead for way cheaper then your over priced 22lr ammo who knows..

Huben  GK1 Grip

I modified Bravos 3D GK1 Grip to fit my big hand. Removed the bottom little finger tab and put this piece of aluminum on the bottom, adding the perfect amount of length for me. I left the front of this addition extended some for my preference. I put a couple of screws and epoxied. I still might slip a rubber gripper over it, but It ain't too bad now. I also drilled and tapped a 10-32 hole for a sling stud. I like to have a sling stud and ring for hanging my pistols while in a hunting blind or on the wall of my shack.

SPA M40 .22 barrel quality help

Thank you everyone for all the help and comments and forgive me for the late response but this last month i have been very busy and only this past couple of days i managed to find time to adress all this.

I reached out to krale concerning the problem i had and they promptly sent a return label so that they could troubleshoot/fix this but it unfortunately happens that the shipping options were not to my liking so i ended up cutting the barrel myself.

Being a semi-auto there is a piston that slides around the outer part of the barrel so i could not just simply chop off the end because most of the lenght is needed to actuate the mechanism.
At the very end there is a groove to place a circlip (not needed for function but as an extra safety)
IMG_20240424_104530.jpg

I figured i could cut a cone with a very steep angle with tangent radius to ease off turbulence so that i could clear the damaged rifling but could still leave the outer part intact

Concentricity between rifling and outer diameter was good (0.020mm) at different depths past the damaged section. This one was not deforming the pellet but was throwing it out of alignment on some lands which would impose an exaggerated pitch angle at muzzle. Value i measured was 0.04mm on the most damaged groove in relation to the rest.

I took 2 groups at 35m before rework and 1 after. Pellets were HN 14.6gr field target trophy power at 695fps 21joule /15.5ft-lbs @55bar (needs a lighter hammer and different spring to work in semi at this low energy)

IMG_20240424_163808.jpg

IMG_20240424_163819.jpg

The velocity loss with the 6mm shorter barrel was 5fps at this pressure.

The bad part is i may have to test all the pellets out again.
The good part is i actually enjoy the run as much as the finish.

I feel tempted to inspect my other barrels after seeing these results just out of curiosity and learning purposes.

But before i do i may end up either polishing or reworking the other end.

Once again thank you guys for all the guides, knowledge and opinions. helped out a bunch to make me climb another step!

N/A  Springer/Pumper and the Rabbit Hole

^^ This link will take you to the first shots with my Beeman R9. I literally mounted the scope, pulled a dry bore snake through the barrel, and documented about the first 50 shots or so with the gun. The first 5 shots were about half the diameter of a dime. 3 of which were probably under a 1/16” CTC cluster. No break-in whatsoever. Other than that, I have only shot the heavies in it, so I got some pellet testing yet to do. But it likes them cheap Crosman hollow points so much, why bother?

500 pellets- $6-$7 on the shelf. 50 CCI standard velocity- $4-$6. 6 tins of pellets down the road you made up for the price difference of the R9 to the Ruger 10/22. My R9 paid for itself in less than a year.

Reactive Paper Targets for the Daisy 499B

I'm trying to come up with some fun little reactive targets for this 5 meter bb basement tack driver.
Your ideas are welcomed!
