Airhunter Gerhard wins H&N Golden Achievement Award

Hello. Well, that's not exactly why I asked this question. I even have 2-year-old packages and they look nice. Reading other threads, you may come across other observations that it does have an impact. Even h&n's official statement that it is not a normal coating but they have already fixed it. A statement from this topic:
https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/do-these-look-ok.1284796/

A year has passed and the coating still has a coating, so I asked if it was normal. I don't want to buy a spare for the summer just to have it sit around. I still have some of the old ones left, so I'll test them in my free time and share the results. Regards

Below are some other threads.

CS2 missing second plastic bearing ring

I just noticed on one of my CS2's the piston only has one plastic bearing ring. The other has two, and the drawing shows two. Well color me green! now I know why that one compressor always was louder and had more vibration than the other. Not a huge difference, but quite noticeable when you're looking for it. I added a second ring from my parts stash and now it's as quiet as the other. Came that way from the factory, but it didn't do any damage to the cylinder, as it looks new. The support from the high pressure piston must have saved it.
Anyway, something to look for if yours is acting funny.

Squirrel Invasion

squirrels are territorial so they don’t congregate in large numbers. Once you take out the ones you see others will fill its place especially younger ones with no or less territory.

I started shooting squirrels because my neighbor’s roof damage. I also thought there are just a few in my suburbia track home yard but in 2 years I lost count after 50. This is year 3 and I think I’m probably close to triple digits now. Crazy part is I rarely see squirrels within 1 block of my house, but if I walk the neighborhood I see squirrels starting after just 1 block. So yeah, there a ton of tree rats, we just don’t see them all at once.
I think that is a lot of my situation, I get one or two move in because of the vacancy and plenty of den and forage trees. I have had a few times where a group of four or five move in usually in the late Spring and early Fall. These are usually young squirrels and I think that they are litter mates or maybe a couple of different young groups that band together for a short time looking for new territory. These are usually a wild bunch of rascals, running here and there at a constant pace, rarely stopping long enough to get shot. But they do sooner or later.

Some other thoughts, I have read that many years ago that there were mass migrations of squirrels. Growing up in West Central Missouri I remember as a young person of the old timers talking of a migration of squirrels across the Osage river. My understanding of this was that it didn't happen annually but on occasion for whatever reason. These stories were probably from the 1920 to 1930 era maybe before that, there is no way to put a timeline of this. I have also read of during the late 1700's and early 1800 some of the states back East putting a bounty on squirrels. Paying out some serious money at least for the time for thousands of squirrel ears. You had to turn in the scalp with two ears attached for a penny or two, back in those days if you had a pocket full of pennies you were doing OK!

Carbin fiber bottles

I remember Myth busters wanting to make a Salami rocket, the LOX on its own propelled it some ways CUZ they did not get salami ignition.

I also have a hard time seeing a bottle develop a catastrophic failure that would lead to a explosion like scenario, then again it is not for fun you can get blast proof tank holders to have the tank inside while you fill it.
The catastrophic failures i have seen have all been related to filling way past the limit, but then they do also go KABLAMO

There is a dive shop, not near me, but it have a bottle fill " ATM" like machine so you can fill night and day, i assume its something like this in some US park.

galvanically corrode
That galvanic corrosion is almost step #1 in the surface treatment course here in Denmark, and i have also seen on ships this go absolutely wrong with a too " noble " metal used on a lesser one,,,,,, no good at all, though someone probably though this at some point.

It is there cuz fixing stupid made by people that should be smart, well very hard, and when engineers fail just a little,,,, OMG

Question for the Mac-1 Airguns steroid pumper.

Since it is "STEROIDED", it's likely that the hammer spring is too powerful and pushing slightly on the exhaust valve enough to not enable pumping up. The spring/hammer is holding the exhaust valve slightly open.
Cock it first then pump. If it still makes that noise, then something else is amok.

Huben HB35 hand pump

I have this pump and am happy with it: lighter operation then my Hill MK5, and seems to be more durable as well. doesn't seem to have any air filtration or de-humidification though, does anyone know if there is a good solution for this?
Yeah, if it's made for pumping in the field, filtering air is kinda important. I'm not sure how effective it would be, but maybe an inline filter?

Barra 400e jamming and disassembly

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum (this is actually my first post), and wanted to ask if any Barra 400e owners have experienced any jamming problems and if anyone has tried to disassemble their gun to fix a jam.

I purchased my gun a little over a month ago, and have really enjoyed it, to the point of investing in five extra mags, and an extra battery. It's the favorite gun in my collection by far, so when it stopped working last Saturday I immediately reached out to Barra support.

I've noticed that there's a bb stuck in the throat of the inlet itself (see my pictures) that appears to be causing the jam, and Barra support responded this morning, with an instructional video on how to disassemble the gun to get at the jammed BB.

Unfortunately, I'm having an impossible time removing the upper receiver... it's stuck in there like nobody's business, and I'm concerned about applying too much force to it and damaging it another way.

I've been speaking with Barra support and they've been great, but I'm stuck here and looking for any advice you guys might have on how to fix this.

Thanks!

N/A  Semi-Auto Recommendations

I have the SF standard and it's fine, I had a tank leak but it was an easy fix and I broke a valve pin, again easy fix. I tried slugs,,,,DONT DO THAT......but with pellets it's ok and pretty accurate. I wish there was a way to make the trigger lighter!!! I'm still Icing my finger after this last weekend. I can't find anything to make the trigger better anyone know how?
Jeffthetech: you can lighten trigger with some polishing of the contact areas on the hammer, sear and trigger. I use a light moly grease I mix on the contact areas. You then want to use some lighter springs on trigger and sear. That sometimes takes some trial and error to balance reliability with lighter pull. 3.5 to 3 lb is very doable. Go to bolt action you can get down to about 2 lb. Best thing to do if you have the mechanical aptitude is to polish all the eternals. I make a bolt handle that makes it easier to cock.

Barra 1100z scope mount

Never mind on the breach o ring with the Barra 1100z guy's. The breach o ring for the Barra 1100z gen 1 is much deeper into the barrel breach than the gen 2. The 1100z gen 2 the breach o ring you can change without removing the barrel. But with the 1100z gen 1 you must remove the barrel to get to the breach o ring beings the gen 1 breach o ring is probably a little less than 1/2 inch deep into the barrel breach. I hope this helps anyone that may need this information later down the road.

Wish I had gotten one of these doohickies sooner

A friend of mine found this old adjustable riser thingamajig laying around and gave it to me. These things are super convient for just using on random surfaces to get bag height just right.

You can try a Tack Driver bag too, they have different sizes on 3 sides.
