FX  Love my M3

I think if there truly was an impact U there should be an entrance exam, in order to even be able to attend. No pass no class, doesn’t matter how much money you got:

Entry Questions, must be correct with all five, and no retakes-
1. 250 bar max fill laser etched on the gun gets over ruled by the bottle that says max capacity is a 300 bar fill: T or F
2. In order to increase both shot count and velocity/power, one must raise reg 2 on an M3: T or F
3. When reassembly of the gun is involved, it is best practice to fully pressurize the gun first to check for leaks before sliding and locking down the barrel assembly in place: T or F
4. A sudden drop in velocity always means your regulator is at fault: T or F
5. Spell the name of the gun manufacturer
Question 1- Answer, the reason why 250 bar max is etched into and by the air gauge is because, the air gauge only goes to 250 bar. If you look on page 8 of your user manual it says, max overall pressure not to exceed 300 bar. The bottle says 300 bar. It is safe to fill your m3 to 300 bar, just change the gauge to a 300 bar gauge.

Western Airguns  Western Sidewinder ?

Looking at PCP guns and a Western Sidewinder looks interesting.
I'm left eye dominate and shoot rifles from the left shoulder and just wondering if anyone has shot from the left shoulder with this gun.
Looks like the rotating magazine might be a issue while shooting.
Thanks for any input.
I just tested one and it looks fine but if you have a beard I would be careful as I have got an unpleasant tug on my beard hair once. I would say come and test one but im in Bend Oregon. Im taking a .22 cal for myself but the .30 would kill a coyote.

If you haven't experienced gyro-stabilized binoculars....

I moved up to the 12x model after realizing the extra power was not an issue with the superior IS of the SIg
I created my own front element lens cover and got a after market eye-cup cover

It's a cool looking bino too! With IS, a nigher magnification is easily doable! Haven't tried one yet, but as I get older I might need it's capabilities.....I recently purchased a new to me Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 and I can hold them pretty steady...so far....😂👍 Enjoy glassing thru those!

Optics  SOLD Athlon Optics Talos SFP 3-12x40mm BDC 600A IR rifle cope

** SOLD **

I purchased this Athlon Optics Talos SFP 3-12x40mm scope with an illuminated BDC 600A reticle new last October. I mounted a set of quick-release scope rings on the scope so that I could briefly mount it on a rifle to sight it in correctly to check the view and the reticle. The scope was only out of the box for a few hours as it was compared to several other scopes. I decided to keep a different Athlon scope with the same BDC 600A reticle, and am selling this one because I don't need any more scopes.

I won't bother to review the technical specifications here. I believe that everything is in as-new condition. The glass is clean, the scope looks new, and the original items that came with the scope are still in the box. I'll leave the quick-release scope rings attached to the scope as shown in the attached pictures.

I'm offering this one for $150 which includes the scope mount and rings and the cost of shipping within the continental United States.

The box will be securely packaged and shipped by UPS. I’ve shipped many fragile items over the years and have never had any problems with damage during shipping.

Thanks for looking!

Scope recommendations

Personaly I prefer a good retical, and Element Optics, has a good one designed by Ted of (Teds HoldOver) fame.
I like doing business with people I know from years of following their work. Two of those folks being Ted Bier, and the Affrican airgunner, Matt Dubber, who are involved with Element Optics.
Here is Teds retical design in MOA measurments.

Element Optics, also has a phone app to calulate ballistics which is very handy whichever gun and scope combo your shooting.

A look through it from the phone camera, shot at night using a flashlight @ 30 yards.

Airgun Technologies  Uragan 2 / Cricket choices

Really hard to go wrong with .30. V3 or U2. Or Kalibrgun .30 tacticle. I just got from Brian at Edgun West their version of the .30 Sidewinder Compact "Snakelet" 350 cc CF 300 bar bottle that is more slender and comes with the Behemoth quick lug attach detach moderator. Its very quiet with the Behemoth. Handling with the Hueben and a one inch leather sling is hard to beat too.
Great choice on you new shooter Tripp!

HW/Weihrauch  for you DIY tuners

What @Steve 1974 said. The only reason I tried was because I had pretty clear cut bounce and I went very slowly testing in between sizing and only going up a fraction or two mm at a time. All in I ended up with a 20% bigger transfer port and a 15% lighter piston. All said and done it was about 3hrs worth of work.

The next project will be interesting. I'm going to start by lightening a TX piston by 25% and then working with the TP from there. The TX port is closer to 3.8mm from the factory and from what I was reading last night I may actually end up needing to make that smaller. Should be interesting....
You could convert the tx to a 22mm setup
Tony leach has a very good conversion for this it’s skirtless .
I had a 22mm set up in a hw77 that wasn’t skirtless full alloy piston that was a nick g conversion. It was close to pcp accuracy and still did 11.4 with express.tony and nick are two of the best tuners in the uk . I’m sure many in the states have used them .

Question on proper CO2 cartridge to use with Benjamin 30/30 Co2 Carbine repeater BB gun

I purchased a Benjamin 3030 on Ebay which had a "piercing" problem. The piercing point was not reaching the CO2 cartridge. Apparently, the previous owner had attempted to force the back of the valve body inward to resolve this (and ended up cracking it) but without success. I replaced the piercing point with the tip of a stainless-steel finishing nail. This was successful. Unfortunately, it developed other problems which I hope someday to resolve.

Airhunter Gerhard wins H&N Golden Achievement Award

Hello. Well, that's not exactly why I asked this question. I even have 2-year-old packages and they look nice. Reading other threads, you may come across other observations that it does have an impact. Even h&n's official statement that it is not a normal coating but they have already fixed it. A statement from this topic:
https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/do-these-look-ok.1284796/

A year has passed and the coating still has a coating, so I asked if it was normal. I don't want to buy a spare for the summer just to have it sit around. I still have some of the old ones left, so I'll test them in my free time and share the results. Regards

Below are some other threads.

CS2 missing second plastic bearing ring

I just noticed on one of my CS2's the piston only has one plastic bearing ring. The other has two, and the drawing shows two. Well color me green! now I know why that one compressor always was louder and had more vibration than the other. Not a huge difference, but quite noticeable when you're looking for it. I added a second ring from my parts stash and now it's as quiet as the other. Came that way from the factory, but it didn't do any damage to the cylinder, as it looks new. The support from the high pressure piston must have saved it.
Anyway, something to look for if yours is acting funny.

Squirrel Invasion

squirrels are territorial so they don’t congregate in large numbers. Once you take out the ones you see others will fill its place especially younger ones with no or less territory.

I started shooting squirrels because my neighbor’s roof damage. I also thought there are just a few in my suburbia track home yard but in 2 years I lost count after 50. This is year 3 and I think I’m probably close to triple digits now. Crazy part is I rarely see squirrels within 1 block of my house, but if I walk the neighborhood I see squirrels starting after just 1 block. So yeah, there a ton of tree rats, we just don’t see them all at once.
I think that is a lot of my situation, I get one or two move in because of the vacancy and plenty of den and forage trees. I have had a few times where a group of four or five move in usually in the late Spring and early Fall. These are usually young squirrels and I think that they are litter mates or maybe a couple of different young groups that band together for a short time looking for new territory. These are usually a wild bunch of rascals, running here and there at a constant pace, rarely stopping long enough to get shot. But they do sooner or later.

Some other thoughts, I have read that many years ago that there were mass migrations of squirrels. Growing up in West Central Missouri I remember as a young person of the old timers talking of a migration of squirrels across the Osage river. My understanding of this was that it didn't happen annually but on occasion for whatever reason. These stories were probably from the 1920 to 1930 era maybe before that, there is no way to put a timeline of this. I have also read of during the late 1700's and early 1800 some of the states back East putting a bounty on squirrels. Paying out some serious money at least for the time for thousands of squirrel ears. You had to turn in the scalp with two ears attached for a penny or two, back in those days if you had a pocket full of pennies you were doing OK!
