Has the AAA slayer been ended?

I dont see the slayers on their website anymore. I was trying to get a lower reciever for my 357 but it never happened. I messaged him over on ham a couple times but no response. I can only assume that means he never made the lowers, he didnt have any left, or he doesnt have time for customers. I wont be buying anymore AAA product due to lack of overall support. The slayer is a nice package though so its a shame it has to be like that.
Neither did I, and I agree, it is unfortunate.

Afternoon Casting

Sometimes a gas check mold is used for airguns, but usually with the actual gas check not installed. The rear recess can act like a bit of a boat tail on the slug which can help stabilize it. I'm guessing 6gun's picture is just an example of a good cast with good fill-out of the grooves, smooth surfaces, and sharp corners. I'll bet those bullets are for a large bore powder burner, maybe a black powder rifle. 6gun can probably give you better information than this relatively newbie caster!
Nailed it! High pressure smokeless and not tumble lubed on one or run thru the lubrisizer yet. It was just to show what took me a few years to figure out how to do perfect and easily.

HW/Weihrauch  MK1 HW77 Front Sight Assembly Question

It cured 24 hours before I shot it. What I’m saying is in about 90 seconds it had expanded and filled the gap enough that I had to hammer it into the proper position with a wooden block. Obvious answer is have it in place BEFORE using the Loctite. Wasn’t expecting it to do that in 90 seconds, but it did. All good.
Excellent. I misunderstood. I'm glad it worked out for you.

Got another Vole

I live in Utah on a hillside and see quite a few voles. I use a thermal also to take them out. They love bushes, sunflowers and digging a ditch into yards. I have ballistics on my thermal which helps, because I shoot them anywhere from 7 yards to 95 yards. I am pretty accurate up to 40, but more difficult with the winds at anything over 40. Good practice in my opinion. I am also shooting off my deck or out a window, so I don’t have great feel of the true wind at times. Love my thermal!!!

Where to get parts anodized?

If you are trying to avoid a lot charge to get the part anodized I would recommend some type of Cerakote. Cerakote looks great and it easier to control color and match other colors. I anodize all my custom parts and it can be difficult to match color shades and texture especially if you don't know the exact aluminum used.

Here are some of the parts I make and anodize.

RTI  RTI Transfer Port Screw - What Material?

RTI sent me some of the M7 grub screws, they were steel.

Easy to drill out, file, manipulate etc.
Got a selection of transfer ports from 1.6 mm to 3 mm.

I also have a brass M7 TP, delivered will my P1. So RTI use brass and steel.

Interesting testing, 😉. Lately I'm mainly using a 3 mm TP. .177 slugs.
Thx for the feedback. That's pretty much what I was planning on doing. Vary the TP diameter in steps of 0.5mm. The one I have that came with my latest P1, was 1mm to start. I relieved it to 1.24mm but figure it would be better to just make a "set" to have.

Not sure if my thinking is right, but it seems that having something in the TP screw hole would be better than just the threads being bare and disturbing the air flow through the port.

Also was thinking there might be an advantage if the port shape was like "/_\" to create a venturi effect. I would think that the forcing effect of the narrowing port would increase the speed of the air and possibly make for more efficient use with less volume.

Overthinking probably.

GX CS4 compressor issue?

Pull the cover and check the line connectors. They attached with male to female crimp connectors. Could have come loss or wasn't crimped properly and a wire pulled out. One of mine wasn't crimped well due to the diode jumping positive and negative wires.
Volt meter would tell you wether or not there's power at any given point.
A multi meter is the safest and most sure fire way to find out what's going on, wall outlet to motor leads.

Umarex  Komplete Hammer Spring Adjuster Mod

Just a follow-up to finalize: I decided that a small mod to the stock would simplify tuning matters greatly, so I drilled a small access hole in the stock for adjustment. The standard long allen wrench works perfectly. Now no longer necessary to detatch the stock for adjustment of the hammer.

Steyr  Steyr LG110 and 100 compatibility

Hi all,

TLDR: I have an LG110 FT (built around 2016) and an LG100 (2002). Am i able to move the mechanical "unit" from the LG110 into the chassis on the LG100? Intended use is for field target.

The LG110 i've owned for about 8 years, it's a shooter. It gets single digit on the fps spread and is always accurate as long as you clean every 100 shots or so. It has the externally adjustable hammer spring. At 10 yards it's a true one holer, off bags, as you would expect. The only thing i don't like about the 110 is that is difficult to shoot in the standing position because it is so forward heavy.

The LG100 from what i've been told by the previous owner, started out as a 10m rifle, so it had to get tuned to 12fpe for FT. It's currently shooting around 10.3 fpe, but the fps spread is rather dismal for a Steyr, at 25 fps. It makes an awful ping when fired. I've only had the rifle a couple days and have put around 100 pellets through it. It will also do one hole groups at 10 yards, but it's a bigger hole. The cocking lever feels really stiff when you cock the rifle, but then annoyingly the bolt will slide forward if you tip the rifle down to load a pellet (when standing). There's oil seeping out of the side of the cockling lever slot, so i imagine there may be some issues internally. This rifle does not have the external hammer spring adjustment. Where this rifle shines though is the weight and feel compared to the 110FT. It's much shorter because it has the barley twist barrel, and the chassis itself is shorter. Standing shots are much easier.

The goal here is to take the best parts of each rifle and make one "go to gun" and setup the 2nd rifle as a spare. Essentially i'd be taking the guts of the lg110 and moving them into the chassis of the lg100. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

Different types of Pellets

I’m new to the airgun game. Are there different types of .25 caliber pellets? The only kind I’ve been able to find are the rounded head or “dome style”. I’m just curious if they have a pointier or more sharpened head or something more thick like a slug.
Where have you been looking? Google turns up a myriad of variety of .25 pellets. I prefer JSB King Heavy 34 grain, JSB Hades 26 grain, JSB King 25.4 grain and H&N Crow Magnum and Predator.

LPVO??

I've had good success with the Discovery 2-12x24, although I'd call that an MPVO. There's an extensive thread on it here. https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/discovery-knocked-it-out-of-the-park-with-this-model.1331853/

I only used it for a very specific format of competition that required sub 10 yard parallax and a few 50 yard groups. It can definitely work at longer ranges in a pinch, but it really shines for closer range work.

Benjamin  Specialty tap for cleaning up threads on Benjamins and Sheridans

I am heading up a group buy on this tap over on the GTA, let me know it you have any interest, we are at 5 and would need 12 orders for the best pricing.

Quoted from the OP.
As part of this, I got ahold of a company that makes the specialty taps, Tapco, and got prices for single or volume purchases of this tap. So, if a person orders 1, it's $256!! Hardly worth it for a casual airgunner who occasionally rebuilds these guns. But if the order is for 12 taps, the price drops to $70 each, which is pretty reasonable is a person can put it to use, probably not for a 1 time ever rebuild. So, if 12 people want one and can get organized, it's $70 each, if 10, it's $89 each.

Anyway, I already have a tap, and have other things going on so don't want to be a point man. But I thought I'd mention it here in case there are enough people interested and one person willing to organize a group buy.

I have seen enough buggered up threads that I routinely use my tap to clean them up. Makes it easier to install the valve nut into clean threads too.

The company is Tapco, 800-827-7787, the tap no. is 37558 (description is .6656-32H2), ask for Jackie.

GX is now the leader of budget compressors ?

I've been using GX CS2's for the past 4 or 5 years. I have no experience with the earlier generations of compressors. I'm fine with the GX. Yes, it's not fast but it's been pretty good value for the money I've put into them.

I'm an airgunner that largely just shoots when it's time to kill pests, and I've killed most of my pests (or they're too shy to walk onto my property, which is good-enough for me). So I'm not a big consumer of compressed air. I have a small and a large SCBA tank. As of late I need to fill them only a couple of times a year.
