FX  Well, I have gone and done it my first PCP....

And down the Rabbit Hole goes another innocent, unsuspecting newb type person  🤪. Welcome aboard the "expenditure train". You'll know what I mean shortly ;). This is a great forum populated with lots of great people who are eager & willing to help. The search bar is your friend here but when you get stuck the "gurus" are likely to have the answers. Enjoy the ride!

GX CS3 periodic service

I have a couple of questions though. I use Renewal Lubricants Food Grade EP grease for the piston and top of the connecting rod, as this grease comes in contact with the plastic piston guides and seal. I don't know the material used in either, and assuming they're not polyethlene or polypropylene, I'm guessing the grease is fine, but the fact that I don't know keeps me using a silicone based grease. Since it's plastic to metal contact, this seems a good choice.

I'm curious as to the choice of RnT for the piston in your case. Just trying to understand, not being critical. I don't know the makeup of additives in the RnT beyond it's lithium base.

I have had better luck, so far, in the gear box with RnT than GG, as the Green Grease seems to get pushed out, maybe not as badly as regular chassis grease but doesn't seem to stay in place as well as RnT. I ordered a sample of Chevron Open Gear Grease to try also.

I'd be interested in your thoughts, as I am a firm believer that this is the key to longevity of these compressors. Kept properly lubed with something that stays on the gears and used as intended, they will last a long time.

ELR optics

Haha, yeah I didn't realize I had it backwards until I looked at the pic.

I already had the tension right so I didn't change it for that shooting session or I would have noticed.
I have seen other folks face the lever to the front like you have in the photo. Their reason is usually that the pod-loc is a bitch to tighten down and also needs an 11mm socket wrench to adjust the internal preload. If that's your situation and your cal is a gen 2, then you might want to check out this thread:

Sorry again for the off-topic post.

Airgun Technologies  VULCAN 3 HP sprung a leak. Advice needed.

update: i did get the regulator out. pulling it towards the bottle/muzzle direction from the tube. i think there is a slight scratch on the external o-ring, anyway i tried to sand down potential sharp burrs from the tiny borehole, greased up the o-rings generously and reinstalled the regulator. after filling up pressure, it held air again. at least no hissing winds from the breathing hole anymore, but after half a day the pressure went down from 300bar to a bit over 200bar. so something is not right. hope i will get those o-rings over here.

again thanks for the helpful comments here. i appreciate it.

"the particular air rifle you are selling I'd better that anything else out there that is up for grabs" could you please "translate" this part of your sentence for me? I only speak English  :ROFLMAO:🤪

That had me for a moment too - substitute "...IS better THAN anything else..." to get the intended sarcasm.
I am a certified curmudgeon, and a major peeve of mine is having to decipher stuff that people post without proof-reading.

How to calibrate the YONG HENG 300bar auto-shut-off gauge?

I removed that one and installed 3 larger OD gauges between the compressor cylinder and the tanks. Cross checking works more reliable.
And btw when the compressor is running, I am always in close proximity just in case... never leave the compressor running alone.

Taipan  Type One Taipan's...A Testimonial.

Not to hijack the Taipan love here, but can anyone help w fitment?

My short is a nice little off-hand shooter, but the LOP is way too short for me. It's a loose fit no matter how hard I tuck... Without ruining the easthetics are there any good options for working around this issue?

The other thing that could be improved is the cheek weld that's probably just a matter of puttng down some neoprene. But it would be nice if there were other less-trailer park ways of adding to the comb

Best looking gun !

I got out today to do some shooting and get some more pics of the Diamond stock DRS PRO in a better setting. also pics of a 100yd group and the DRS first Blood.
Sorry I accidently posted the target pic twice and dont know how to remove it. The target pasters are covering holes from the 50-70 sharps I zeroed first.

More rat kills with my Ghost, with a couple slow motion kills.

Curious if you have tried Gamo Red Fire? I have had great success using them in .177 caliber for one shot kills on Tree Rats and Asian Doves.
I haven’t tried them. The ones I’m shooting are the 18.13 gr. JSB exact jumbo heavy diabolo’s, 25.39 gr. JSB monster MRD’s, 15.89 gr. JSB Hades diabolo and the 25.39 gr. Hades monster MRD’s. All shoot great out of my Ghost.

Tuxing double cylinder compressor - air leaking into crankcase

I had to do cylinder swap, and I had too mill off about 3/8” from the cylinder in order for it to fit into crank case. It was too fat to go into crank case without milling. You can see one base is thicker than the other one. Maybe they sent me wrong cylinder, but I made it work. It actual pumps a little faster with new head

HW/Weihrauch  What gun did you wish you’d have kept?

Not impossible. I have a British Tomahawk in .22. Beech stock and I do wish it was walnut. Had it for 25 years, or so. Hasn't been shot much. Most of my springers are pretty tame, but the Tommy is a big hammer with fairly good manners.
Should you ever want to sell her, I'll be here waiting patiently. My search would be over.

Events  Iowa field target fun shoot

Today was the first ever Field Target competition in Iowa!

I just want to thank everyone for coming out and for supporting the effort to bring the sport of Field Target to Iowa.

And I need to thank the West Liberty Gun Club for allowing and supping this effort. The West Liberty Gun club has really gone above and beyond with support.

Today we had a really nice fun shoot day. I hope everyone got a taste of the sport and I am looking forward to the next competition.

We had six shooters in PCP Hunter and Spring Hunter class.

Today was the first time shooting Field target for everyone and it was an informal fun shoot.

Bill Jennings had the highest score in PCP with an Avenger. And Ray Elthon was the top springer with his Diana 48

Congratulations to all the shooters today. And thank you all for coming out to shoot.

Reximex Bottle Valve vs FX bottle Valve

I figured it out. The Reximex valve has a short angled oring seat. The FX has a deeper squared seat. The FX holds the oring and the Reximex allows the oring to slide out.

No hot swapping the Reximex valve.
Hot swap the FX with just a small amount of air loss.

Now to figure out how to regulate the bottle so I can have 300 bar in the bottle and 250 bar in the gun.

The Reximex valve oring seat:
