Airforce  Bushbuck .45 How to adjust cheek piece

@birdie Even if AOA replaces the allen head bolts, if they aren't grade 8 or equiv. in metric, replace them when you get it back. Do yourself a massive favor and buy at least one high quality allen wrench, talking matco/snap-on/ etc. quality, nothing you can buy in a box store. It is especially important on those small allen bolts, it is an area where virtually everyone buys the cheap stuff, I'm talking the manufacturer's, they cheap out big time on fasteners. Between cheap allen bolts and cheap allen wrenches it is not uncommon to end up with a rounded allen head bolt in as little as one tightening/loosening cycle.
I have a set of Bondhus Allen wrenches.

Best glass fixed 10x scope.

This revived thread is interesting, as I said berore, i have several fixed power scopes. Here's my opinion.
*Hawke Airmax 30mm 10x...great glass and reticle, controls are mil/mil. The oly gripe is it's on the heavy side.

*Optisan 10xi, very nice glass and reticle, equal tto the Airmax, mil/mil, and just as the Airmax, it's a bit heavy.

*SWFA (i have two 10x and one 12x). Good glass, not as clear as Airmax or Optisan, some fisheye, but highly useable. More variation from scope to scope than most brands, (a good one can be great). Great controls. Good weight, not too heavy. Good reticle but not lighted.

*vector Veyron 10x great scope, very clear, but some variation from scope to scope. I have the 10x and a 3-12x that are fantastic and compact and fairly light. Great controls and amazing tracking much like SWFA? (fluke ?). I love the two i have, but have used others that didn't measure up: who knows?

*Athlon Talos 10x , most Athlons are great scopes and the Talos should be great, but the heaviest of the 10x breed.

If you don't mind the extra weight, then I'd go Airmax or Optisan. If a compact is in your plan, then the Veyron is worth sorting thru.

Starling trio before morning coffee

Coffee hadn't even finished brewing when I seen a small flock of yellow beaks in my tree by the kitchen window.

I had my kral 25 mini jumbo in the garage from target shooting yesterday. Had a mag of polys ready to go. 2 got vital shots and dropped like a stone, the other came down to see why his buddies where taking a nap, and he got one to the back of the head.

Definitely cleared out his sinuses!
Those .25 polymags are devastating.. use to shoot them in my 700mm impact until I went compact.. now they don't group good.. they push everything inside, outside 😁😁

new this week

just a sales ad in my E mail , new price is all but .177 AND .22 wadcutter for paper target or close range hunting . Wad's are a huge smack down out to about 40 /50 yards .
I tried the .22 variants in my hatsan jet 2 I sold to a buddy of mine and it was perfect for iguanas out to 25yds. The cracking sound it would make after hitting an iguana in the head was just as loud as hitting then with slugs and sometimes harded. Pretty big wound channel too

One of my favourite hunting challenges

I am sure we have all turned a fly into a grease spot on our target boards but from spring through to autumn one of my favourite hunting challenges is the drone fly. these common bee mimics are highly territorial hovering about 24” off the ground where the protect their area by chasing off other insects. This behaviour is both predictable and erratic making them a challenging and frustrating target. Predictable because you know the appropriate area they will be, erratic because they are never still for more than a few seconds.

I set up my shooting bench and shooting bag on an area of short grass where drone flies tend to be most easily found. It normally doesn’t take long to spot several of these drone flies hovering about, I tend select a victim in the 20-30 yard range and try to shoot them out of the sky before they dart off, usually only moving a few inches.
The difficulty is three fold, firstly these are not a big target, secondly they only remain still for a second or two and lastly, it is very difficult to exactly range the distance. The sense of frustration is more than made up for when you see an explosion of parts when you hit😁

Does anyone else hunt these ?

FX  Fill port replacement on fx impact m3

The M3 uses a unique fill port (part #16303) that you will need to get directly from FX. I don't think I have ever seen one of those go bad, are you sure that is your problem?
Yes it’s has developed a burr on it even the dust cap won’t fit on it. I have ordered a fill valve from bagnal and kirkwood in England part number 16303 thanks for your comment

.

Normally I do sort by head size but with this round I did not sort it. That one that went in stiff was a result of that.

I don't know if "stiff" is the correct word, English is not my home language. What will be a better word for it?
Stiff works, I normally say "tight fit" but I understood you just fine.
