Beeman  Beeman 1357 mods

Just got the rifle today, it shot okay. Grouped nice enough, but the stock scope is close to useless. Okay sight in it, but for some reason it does not react to my clicks at all.

Ordered a Donniefl silencer mount.

It's already on the bench for fixing the trigger and tightening up everything that is not tight.

It for sure does not need more power.

It hit1040 fps with jsb diablo 10.34 grain, out of the box.

I did get to ghetto try an atec silencer on it. And that did so much difference, I can't wait.

Altaros  Help. Reg wont go above 100 bar

Hi all. I installed a alteros reg on my S400 classic. Its a 100-150 bar reg and was set at 125 on the scale out the box.

I went down a bit to 115-120 before installing and installed exactly as per video and pressurized and it only went to 95 bar. With 150 in tank.

I also installed the quickfill with tank pressure guage.

I stripped and went slightly higher on scale and still 100 bar.

No matter how much i adjust reg pressure only goes to 100 bar... i have not turned screw out more than 1 full turn because alteros does not recommend that...

Is it that it may be needing extra Bellville washers internally or is reg actually screwed?

I test fired and its 10.5 ft/lb but is extremely consistent...

Help

Post your confirmed long PELLET head shots.

This is from my Western Outpost blind, once again. And from back in a day before I caused localized extinction of the Sage Rats (Ground Squirrels)
This is another 250' shot, + added elevation because of "This Branch" that "pushed" it out further than that w/ scope doping.

There is a gap between the hard leaning pine tree to the right (near ground in pic), and, the distant shrub line to the left. Within that shrub line to the left is an arching branch that a Ground Squirrel would climb, and then send out alarm barks to the other Ground Squirrels. The bottom, low point of the picture is a seasonal stream bottom that measured out at 225', the shrub is up the opposite side of the canyon, at 250', but required elevation adjustments on the scope due to the height, and windage due to the wind.

This is the branch that the alarm squirrel would climb, and sit at. It took me a few rounds over a few days to get the shot dialed in, due to the branches elevation, and, the daily wind that blows left to right.
"This Branch" is probably 5' high off the ground. The rodent would sit there, and hug that branch , and send out alarm barks.

WHAP!
Head shot, dropped it from the branch, and lots of brain dead flopping around:

Like hitting the “Snooze” button on your “alarm” but more permanent.

Results  Ultimate Field Target @ Phoenix Rod and Gun Club March 2024 Match Report

Hats off to Ben for his ideas, his fortitude, and his sacrifice to make Ultimate Field Target a reality for those of us who enjoy shooting air rifle Field Target in all its forms. Without Ben, Ultimate Field Target would still be on the back of a napkin somewhere.

Thanks Ben!!

Tiapen in garage with Epic ?

Yes, they were. But a lot of it is due to the low reg setting, especially in uk sub 12 foot pound. They designed the regs for upwards of 170-200 bar if needed. But, yes, I have to prove it. But think, if the pressure is relatively equal by comparison, 170 vs 300 I’d much closer than 300 to 90 , or 70.
Very true points there. I havent really seen any guns US based where guys are shooting FAC. Almost all are UK .177s.

Tuning  Regulator Set Pressure (internal) vs. Pressure Gauge Reading (external)

Hi Group,

I recently installed a brand new Huma-Air regulator with integrated pressure gauge on my Benjamin Marauder 25 caliber. After successfully installing it I am getting outstanding performance out of it. The regulator is set at 130 BAR with consistent velocities of 842 FPS with the 25.39 grain JSB King pellets. The results are 56 shots (or seven 8 shot mags!) per 3,000 PSI cylinder fill at 40 FPE, it far exceeded my expectations of the famous 40/40 tune that I was going after. I’m not really worried about this question since the performance is outstanding; however, it’s just an observation more than anything.

My question is why does the exterior regulated pressure gauge (it’s a Huma-Air gauge) show ~150 BAR when in fact the regulator is physically set at 130 BAR?

(Note: I have heard new regulators needs to “set” or get broken in?)

Other  Tethering pbba .457

The way I do it on my big bores is fill to the pressure I want to start at say 3400psi shut the valve on the bottle off write down the pressure take my first shot write down fps and write down the pressure that's the pressure for my second shot and repeat that way I know how much air is being used for each shot. If this makes sense the gauge on the bottle will tell you and if you have a second gauge it'll let you know what's still in your bottle, I use SCBA bottles so it has a fairly accurate pressure gauge and here's how I do it.
shot 1 910fps at 3400psi
shot 2 890fps at 3200psi
shot 3 860fps at 2900psi this is the way I do it on my big bores.

.401 and .457 bullet mold

I'll have three Lee .401 molds on order that will arrive in the next couple of weeks, as I have a PBBA .401. I'll offer a sampler after casting them. Honestly, that is the cheapest way. There is a possibility that none of them will work for you.
Forget about those cheap lead melting pots. I bought a hot pot 2 and had the exact same kind of thinking you did. Pouring from a 5lb. pot into a 1/8" hole is not doable. Maybe for sinkers, but not for these molds. It is nearly impossible for consistent bullets, and the lead gets everywhere. I had to break down and buy a bottom pour. The experience was simply too painful.
You'll need to buy a bottom pour pot, the molds, a press to size the casts, the dies, candle wax, spoon to scrape out the slag, silicone hammer, lead from a local recycling center, bullet lube, and a hot plate to warm up the molds (to minimize wrinkled bullets) at a minimum. The low end is $350 to get started.
If you want to try out the .401's now, hunters supply has several. However, it will cost $30 per box + shipping to try out each one. You'll receive 100 but you'll only need 25 at most.
So if you want to get into casting the smart way, try as many cast bullets as you can out of your .457 & .401. Then only buy the molds that are proven performers. This way you only buy what you need.

I would have never thought that casting would be so involved :ROFLMAO:

Rat airborne

Where there are chickens the rats will be there also. Just have enough air, pellets and batteries for your lighting and NV.

Tomorrow I will be making the ASK.

The SHOOT will be some time after that.... Since I'm bringing an "airgun student" with me — who has some kind of problem with killing anything.... — I don't think he'll be up for the SHOOT part..... 🤷🏻‍♂️

American Air Arms  American air arms .22 hps

The new HPS models are well worth the wait! The slug barrels are being made with a .224 diameter and Tom worked with Cobin, I believe, to make custom slugs...and they were sent to NSA to go into their high speed machines. These should be great shooters and give some good competition to the 22lr guys.

I know with the 22 Paradigm I have it did really good with the 25.4 pellets in 22. Was able to keep up with the powder guys, but the windows really challenging.
Any insight as to when the newer variant will be available?
