HW/Weihrauch  Fixed my hw 95

Under no circumstances do you trust any of these companies unless you get a cometa and he goes through it well! In essence if you are a springer guy you have to learn to tune period. Just like my diana34 right before they went to the gas rams mine was a gigantic turd. It had rust in the tube and the seal was completely chunked on the top and there was no lube anywhere, crappy bluing job. Yeah it got sent back. 100% Never shoot a diana until you buy a new seal and take it apart and de-bur and etc, To be honest risking any of these high dollar guns its just not worth it.

Benjamin  VINTAGE BENJAMIN / SHORT 8 GRAM to LONG 12 GRAM CO2 / ADAPTER?

This has the thread-count and size. It's all I've been able to find.

You could have one made at a local machine shop for not a lot of money. I'd make it bigger and then bulk fill it for more shots.

Cheers,

J~
I have considered having a local machine shop make a few.
To be honest, I am a little surprised that someone has not already done so.
Thanks for the video link!

American Air Arms  Anyone hunt with slugs in an Evoll .22 with 15” barrel?

@Dairyboy - I think it may be the slugs which cause it to lead up faster. I've only been shooting pellets since the last cleaning so I'll see how long that goes before it needs a cleaning.

I've borescoped the barrel before and it's very clean, mine just seems to lead up fast.
That makes sense. I thought you were talking in general with pellets I wasn't aware you were shooting slugs more frequently through it. They definitely lead up more with them. I'd say NSAs more with the harder alloy also.

Other  Co2 Pistol

Anyone know how to date one of these? Is there a way to look the serial # up?
Smith serial numbers aren't like the lot numbers on Daisy and Crosman pistols/rifles from the era that can be decoded to find the month and year of production. The Smith serial numbers were sequential up to around 175,000 (with a few gaps), then there were two other small runs that skipped up to 200,000 and then to 290,000.

The dates quoted above were sourced from a post of mine on another group, and were based on a few data points, and some production estimates. (I'm glad someone saw them and reposted!) I've got a database going that includes 500+ pistols, and the ones that have definite recorded purchase dates have been checked against these estimates. If anyone out there has a 78g/79g with a dated receipt, I'd appreciate it if you could share your information to help the accuracy of the dates.

I've made some changes since that first list was posted, mostly to the upper end of the serial number range. Here is a modified estimate of production dates based on the information I've collected since I first posted the list:

1971: 0-11,000
1972: 11,000-27,000
1973: 27,000 - 43,000
1974: 43,000 - 60,000
1975: 60,000 - 77,000
1976: 77,000 - 95,000
1977: 95,000 - 138,000
1978: 138,000-175,000, 200,000-205,000, 287,000-300,000

Skout  Many thanks to Darryl Trent and the SKOUT Team!

I have no interest really in these guns for what I do but with all the good being talked about these guns and the CS behind them, I definitely will be looking to them for a future gun. I heard maybe a lighter hunting rifle.down the line somewhere and if that's so I will probably be in line for it.

FX  Does any know the seal sizes for an FX regulator

(y) (y)(y)(y)
Last summer I had to replace the reg in my FX Boss. Tried to redo it twice but it didn't work. Centercut suggested getting a new reg but instead of getting a factory oem FX reg he said to get a Huma replacement. I got a HP Huma set at 160 bar (per Ernest). The difference is remarkable. Power, accuracy, shot count all improved immeasurably. You MIGHT want to consider that option too.

Help Me Decide. I Don't Want To Go Over My Yearly Fun Budget, What Would You Do.

Hey there! Sounds like you've got a sweet airgun setup already! I totally understand the upgrade itch, but here's what I might do in your shoes (keeping that budget in mind):

Compressor Upgrade: The Alkin is nice, but if your Yong Heng is working fine, maybe hold off for now. Invest in some desiccant packs and keep your filter clean to get the most out of your current compressor.

Corbin Press: If you're spending a ton on slugs, then yeah, the Corbin Press sounds like a money saver in the long run! Do the math and see how long it'll take to pay for itself with your shooting habits.

New Guns: This is tempting, but maybe think about accessories before new guns? A nice target stand, shooting bags, or a variety pack of pellets could add some enjoyment without blowing the budget.

As for the Skout EVO, waiting to see reviews might be smart. New releases can have bugs.

The Western Rattler...power is fun, but .30 cal slugs can get expensive to shoot (remember that Corbin Press!). Maybe a lighter caliber plinker for casual target practice?

Ultimately, it's your call! But hopefully this helps you weigh the options and stay within your budget. Happy shooting!
