Caldwell Velociradar ..anyone have any hand-on experience?

I did a little research on the VelociRadar, which is made by AOB Products Company. The FCC ID is:

2AF3W-1134904

The FCC reports and internal pictures can be found at: https://fccid.io/2AF3W-1134904/

Interesting that they seemed to leave some performance at the table. Their EIRP is 6 dBm, but they are allowed (in the US) 20 dBm.

Their antenna is wider than it is tall, which means it is narrow in the horizontal and wide in elevation. This means they will suffer from multi-path fade, since the beam is partially illuminating the ground. Multi-path means the signal is attenuated or cancelled at multiple distances. The radar operates in the 24 GHz ISM band and use only 100 MHz of bandwidth. This means they can only resolve range down to 1.5 meters. It's not terrible, but adjacent range cells are limited to 1.5m separation. If they actually do a chirp, then they could do ballistic calculations.

However, nowhere in the test report is a photo of a chirp, so it is unclear if they chirp at all. The test report only shows three frequencies. When I had to do compliance testing, we were forced to use expensive equipment to capture the chirp wave forms - to ensure there were no spurious emissions occurring during the chirp.

As an example: Here's some chirp wave forms at 77GHz that I took a picture of. The chirp is on the top right in the screen. The frequency is linearly swept (increasing in frequency) multiple times. That piece of test equipment, a R&S FSW-85, cost more than the purchase price of my home.

Brocock/BRK  BRK Brococks, Transparency…

I bught a Brk Bantam Sniper HR from a member here a while back. I don't know what it is, can't put my finger on it, but it is likely my favorite airgun. It just does everything well. It is accurate, (I'm more confident with this rifle at 100 yards, than anything I own), has a really good trigger, has enough power for me and fits me well. I like the semi bullpup design also. I'll likely have this rifle for a long time.
I'm a huge Brocock fan, and AOA is absolutely over the top on service and parts for them, which to me, is a huge selling point. I've never had any real problem with mine, except the inlet leaked and I called and got some parts to keep on hand and the new style inlet, but mysteriously if I keep pressure above 125 bar or so, it doesn't leak, so I wait til it leaks again to replace it.
I am actually a bigger fan of Brk than Daystate.
Enjoy your new toy!

My little dude is all grown-up

Caught two rabbits tonight. Got one last week, almost by accident and it triggered something deep down inside of him. Usually can't stand being out in the cold, but tonight he was outside on his own for two hours.

At least, I think that's two rabbits. Might be a rabbit and a small rat. One is pretty munched-up. My little dude came inside and went straight to sleep.
He found a nest, it's what they do, deserves a treat. Good puppy.

EDgun  Huben gk1 fill probe size/edgun peazy fill system

I am interested in getting the edgun peazy fill system and it mentions that it will fit any 8mm fill probe...but I can't find any info on what size fill probe the huben gk1 takes. I measured it with my calipers and it came in under 8mm. Are edgun leshi 2 probes and the gk1 compatible? It also said you can swap the prob out for a foster fitting...but the one I got to test doesn't fit the huben probe (luckily it was only a few dollars). Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Authentic Atlas CAL Gen2 bipod -- simple mod to make the tension/lock lever work like I expected it to

It is me and I love the improvement. The bi-pod is much more user friendly and adjusting the cant is much more precise and easier to get the bi-pod into position., I am very lucky to have found this thread and thankful to stovepipe for the detailed instructions and helping with getting the proper items to make it work. Anyone that uses this particular bi-pod should consider this upgrade.
Hi grackleblast. It's been a year now since I started this thread. As far as I know, you and I are still the only ones that have done this belleville and Smoothdrag mod. I don't go to shooting ranges or gun clubs where I'd be able to let other Atlas CAL / SuperCAL owners try my modified CAL.

How about you? Anyone tried your modified CAL and made the switch? Cheers.

PM received -- thanks grackleblast.
