Campbell’s soup is one of the best lunches on the planet! A sandwich and a can of soup makes a great lunch! The can is a bonus for eating a frugal and healthy lunch. But what did the Campbells every do to me to deserve such abuse![]()
Thanks very much , I just hope this new place is good as I’ve heard it is…Like Luis said above! I too shoot the NSA 17.5gr thru my RAW.....ground squirrels and starlings don't care for them.... Have fun sniping some feathers! Beautiful Cricket, nice pics!
Burris scope Hello Rivegauche. Mine is a used two power scope with a plex reticle I purchased from Ebay. I am not sure when it was manufactured but it is an older American made model. They are currently made in the Philippians. Parallax is set at 100 yards which isn't optimum for Bandit ranges but it has not an issue for me.Hello - please tell me about your Burris optic there. I'm considering an optic for my Bandit.
Pretty much everything I think. The Super is a gas ram with a Gamo trigger and a completely different style of stock. What's the difference?View attachment 455455
Wow, THANKS Derek! As always, I was/am glad to help out. Hoping the warmth & sunshine here becomes more consistent SOON. Anytime you're free I'd love to get together again, just give me a shout. Truth be told, I want to shoot your Sidewinder again & even your Marauder. The one I had for a year + never did shoot quite right but it was probably more my lack of knowledge than the gun. Calling me an "expert" is above my pay grade! I'm just farther along the learning curve than you are now. There are people on AGN who definitely deserve the title but I don't consider myself one of them. Lmk when you have some time to throw pellets.Hey, finally a thread that I’m uniquely qualified to comment on!
As a newbie who has been on the receiving end of Gerry52’s generosity, I just wanted to confirm how helpful it is to someone just starting out in this hobby. As much as I’ve learned from reading this forum, nothing compares to spending a few hours shooting with an expert. I was able to try high-end guns that I’ve only ever read about, and ask approximately a million questions.
The biggest benefit came when he let me borrow his extra 30min SCBA tank. I never knew I needed a tank until I was able to try one for myself! The feeling it brings is pretty much the same as when I went from a hand pump to my first compressor… it really opened my eyes to the benefits of carrying instant air wherever you shoot.
So big thanks from this newbie, Gerry! I hope to be able to do the same someday.
That's why I went pcp and never looked back. Mods actually give you big gains usually. They're also more robust and don't just wear out.I’ve spent way too much time and effort trying to get my great friends 13XX guns to be hot rods. They are great for what they were designed to be, adding stress to one is a walk of rapidly dimensionally returns. An after market tube, pump lever, valve retaining system would fix the issues . But why on a $50 gun???
They are cheap to experiment with, but life span is short when pushed to the limits.
They wouldn't work for me at 35yds in the guns I had in the prior years, I haven't tested them in anything new. They're also too expensive for how often I shoot haha. The polymags aren't going to go the distance that's for sure. They're a 50 yard and under pellet IMO, but they're devastating when they smack a bird.
Gene, makes complete sense. I wanted a balance. For my needs, flinging 44.8 grain pellets at 880fps is perfectly sufficient for my needs. I have tried higher reg pressure and pushed these pellets upwards of 950 fps but I have no need for that kind of power but it is good to know I can tune it to that level if the need ever arises. I am also lucky that I have not experienced any POI shift from day to day unlike some FX owners have experienced. I can pick up my rifle and it will hit where I aim. I also tested the first shot of the day after having the rifle sit overnight and it shot exactly at the FPS i expected/tuned it for so there is no reg creep. You're there. As long as *you* are satisfied with the result, you're "in tune". Tune varies per person. For example, within reasonable limits I don't really care about efficiency - again, within reasonable limits. I have endless air, and don't usually engage in lengthy firing sessions, so to me accuracy with sufficient power are all I'm after. If I haven't maximized my shot count, I don't really care. OTOH, when I was hand pumping I cared a great deal.
You can tune for power, accuracy, efficiency, noise, or whatever. There are always trade-offs. You prioritize the aspects you care about and just try to keep everything else in the "acceptable to you" range.

If you take your BC data using 0-20y then yes you'll get .05.Thought 22 cal mrds 25 gr were closer to .050 and 25 cal 25 gr were at .039???
active linkFor a while I was worried I might have to do some kitten pest control, myself. Local cats were going after my chickens. But thankfully, my chickens are tough-enough to beat up all the local cats. They similarly beat-up the local bald eagles. Right now they're only vulnerable to raccoons, otters and wolves (we don't appear to have any foxes in the area).
It appears the video is gone. Can't find an active link.![]()
