A SHOUT OUT TO JIM D

Thanks Bill and the rest of you guys. I take it that it arrived Bill. I think you got a very accurate gun. You need to try some 30 yard challenge targets with it. I think it might do a 200. I have to really settle down and concentrate to get over 190 regardless of the gun's capability, however. For about the first year of shooting that target I almost never did. Fortunately I got better with practice. Shooting better from the bench definitely helps when you are trying to figure out what pellet a new gun likes.

I expect this to change but right now my Snowpeak guns are giving me better 30 yard challenge scores than my new Caiman that cost 3 times as much! I really enjoy finding a "cheap gun" that can can shoot with the "big boys".
I concur with the less expensive guns hanging tough with the higher end guns

In street/drag racing it’s referred to as a sleeper.

Snowpeak is rocking it out

Resources  AA HFT500 Good for Benchrest? - OK, prove it!

For 25m international targets using a .224 plug...there is a simple visual check that can be used to decide if a hole needs to be plugged.

If a pellet hole is exactly on the middle of the 9 ring line, it will just barely miss the ten ring with the plug. Scorers will always plug shots that land right on the middle of the line. If more than 50% of the hole is to the outside of the 9 ring..,there is no reason to even plug it. It will not make it if properly plugged.

As to paper tears...the tears occur because the target is poorly supported and we use slow moving round nose pellets. A target affixed to a proper backer is the best way to avoid dealing with paper tears. Putting a slight convex bow in the target backer and affixing the target tightly is the best method. The convex bow will aid in keeping the target against the backer in all places. The places with air gaps between the target and backer are the places where tears are most likely to occur.

The second issue with paper tears is the scorer using a plug with a shank that is too large for the pellet hole. Unfortunately, .224 plugs with .177 shanks are hard to come by...so most attempt to score with a .224 plug made for Rimfire scoring. The larger shank will exploit a tear in the paper and move toward the direction of the tear. This situation ends up with invalid scoring.

I'm not critiquing scoring on this thread...only providing scoring information.

Tank cant be filled after hydro

As you said,
Joe brancato confirms that if air is coming out it should go in. Waiting for an answer on whether the slo flo restricts the tank fill process as it does the gun fill process.

The valve has a gauge showing tank pressure and one on the output side that typically shows pressure of the gun as its being filled.

if the tank is being filled, the output side valve should show the supply pressure ramping up to 4500 as the tank fills.

good point here. i am assuming the tank valve is accurate but its possible it isnt and there is more than 2900 PSI in the tank. Could be full. that would explain the whole scenario where no more air would go in.
we didnt look at the output side valve during this process but I will next time.
Will update as i learn more
thankyou for the comments
I don’t get "output side valve". Do you mean your fill adapter? If so, put a deadhead plug in the end of it, open tank & then see what the fill adapter gauge is reading compared to tank gauge. Can you post a picture of your setup?

Daystate  daystate revere cocking lever

Check if the magnet is still there, if so it is backing out of the pocket that it is glued into. If that is the case pop out the magnet (you may need some heat to breakdown the glue) clean the old glue residue from the magnet and pocket and then glue it back in with a tiny dab of CA glue.

This happened to me as well.

Airgun restoration

Now I want a Ranchero. 😂

I agree. They look timeless. First FX I have considered buying.
They are super sweet guns. If you get a chance, go for it. But should be noted they are BIG. I was kind of shocked when mine showed up. Here it is next my pcp 1322 @15.25" OAL. I think the fx is over 17" and a normal 13xx is something like 14.25 or so
